Chapter Text
Katsuki entered the building slightly pissed, he just received a call from his manager, telling him that he would star in a drama series with his rival in the acting industry. And it's not just a simple drama series, a BL SERIES. That means they would act lovey-dovey in front of the camera. Just the thought of it makes his stomach turn.
He's not against same sex relationships, he's the biggest ally even if he doesn't show it. He just can't stomach the fact that he has to act with someone who's competing with him for the longest time.
He entered the meeting room where his manager called him to go, and as he entered he bumped into someone he didn't really want to see for a moment.
Green curly hair, freckles, green eyes, and a kind smile that simply throws him off.
“Hi, Kacchan,” said the person he despised. Katsuki smirked, hiding his irritation. He bumped into him, not returning the greeting. He went to the seat beside his manager, and coincidentally, the seat in front of Midoriya Izuku.
Midoriya Izuku is someone he thought wouldn't enter this type of work, but to his surprise, after a year in the industry, this green dork suddenly rose in charts of best actors, competing with his spot.
“Since the both of you are here, we are now gonna start our chemistry reading,” Katsuki scoffed.
“I don't know why you put me up with him, but trust me, there's no chemistry between us,” Katsuki said, looking intently on Izuku, who's busy reading his script. Katsuki didn't need to read the script since he already memorized it.
“Well, isn't that the point of chemistry reading? To test if we have that chemistry?” Izuku looked up on him, and smiled. Katsuki is itching to remove that fucking smile on his lips.
“Okay, okay, stop with the banters. Let's start?” The director said. Even though Katsuki doesn't want to be paired up with him, he knows that this series would contribute to his fame, he just wishes that Izuku would get replaced.
The chemistry reading started, and the director narrated the scene to them.
“They stood by the beach, watching the sunset, the waves reached their feets, as the cold breeze blew, two hearts started to beat loudly, defeating the deafening silence between them,” the director finished and signed to Katsuki that it's his cue. Katsuki breathed deeply before locking in, his expression changed while looking at Izuku with the most yearning eyes.
“I know we can't be together anymore, but can you promise me one thing?” Katsuki looks like a puppy while looking at Izuku. Izuku, who's clearly enjoying what he's seeing, also locked in and threw his lines to Katsuki.
“What is it?” Izuku said, looking at Katsuki with his ever soft eyes. Katsuki’s heart skipped a beat that almost throws him off the trance of acting. He did his best to compose himself and looked at Izuku again. His heartbeat was beating so loudly.
“Promise me, that if ever you still love me, you'll come back here, you'll come back to me.” Katsuki said, eyes slightly teary. Izuku got flustered on how good Katsuki is. He knew that his acting is phenomenal but seeing it first hand like this, he can't help but to be in awe. Because of that Izuku got more motivated to level up his act to katsuki’s level. He poured every emotion for the scene.
“I will, I promise, I'll always come back to you.” Izuku said smiling softly to Katsuki, a tear falling from his eye.
“And cut, wow, I thought we're already shooting the scene.” The director commented, both of the actors wiped their eyes. Katsuki frowned, he doesn't like it, but he has to admit, they're chemistry is good.
“Katsuki, Izuku, your chemistry is on top, I'm sure the audience will like this and I'm sure this series will be number 1.” The director said.
“So, what do you guys say? Are you now convinced that you two have chemistry?” The directory said, he's looking at Katsuki, like he's saying it directly to him. Katsuki scoffed and rolled his eyes.
“Fine, but I better not do any fan service with him.” Katsuki conditioned, looking at Izuku.
“Don't worry I also don't want to do those with you.” Izuku smiled, but it was kind of an irritated smile.
“That… is not something I can guarantee, but, you have to be ready, I don't care what the two of you have in the past or your competition, while working in this series, you have to set those aside okay? I don't want this series to fail, I have already invested a lot in this.” The director said. The meeting ended, the director already left and soon after, Katsuki followed. He went to the rooftop, but unfortunately, someone was already there.
“When did you learn how to puff a cigarette?” Katsuki said, fanning the smoke that was blowing his way. Izuku standing by the railings, with a cigarette between his fingers, looked at Katsuki with his ever bored face. The kind smiling Izuku was gone.
“Why do you care?” Izuku said and puffed another one. Katsuki rolled his eyes.
“Are you sure you want to work with me?” Katsuki said, leaning on the wall.
“I'm the one who should be asking you that, are you sure you want to work with me?” Izuku said, now leaning on the railing and facing Katsuki, who now had his arms crossed over his chest.
“Tsk, I don't want to, but this series would help me,” he said, the cold wind blows and Katsuki's blonde hair danced with it.
“I don't want to work with you too, but I don't have a choice, this would help me be the number 1 actor.” Izuku said that made Katsuki raise his eyebrow.
“You're still dreaming of being number 1? Quit it, dork, you will never be number 1.” Katsuki mockingly said. Izuku stepped forward, he dropped the cigarette and stepped on it. He has a sly smirk on his lips as he steps forward towards Katsuki. Katsuki being a prideful man, he didn't back down, and stood his ground. Until their faces are inches apart, katsuki can smell the scent of cigarette on Izuku. Katsuki is taller than Izuku but at that moment he felt like he was dominated by Izuku.
“Try me, Katsuki. Let's see who's gonna be the number 1 after this,” Izuku said and flashed the smile that he only shows on camera. The smile that makes everyone's hearts drop, which Katsuki hates, because it's affecting him.
“See you on top, Kacchan.” Izuku said and left. Katsuki felt a shiver down his spine. Izuku changed throughout the years, he's no longer the useless, limpy, clumsy kid that used to follow him around.
“That dork.” Katsuki whispered. He smiled, he felt challenged. He can feel the adrenaline rush flowing through him, he hates to admit but he feels like this would be exciting.
