Annie and Raeger slumped though the door of their house, exhausted from the work of the day. Annie had gotten a ton of extra seeds, so she had to take care of more crops then ever. And Raeger’s restaurant had a major surge of customers. They managed to press against each other’s lips, but after that only had enough energy to return to their bed.
“Raeger’s been so exhausted lately” Annie thought as she drifted to sleep, “At this rate he won’t even have the energy to appreciate his break on Wednesday. I’ve got to do something to help him.”
In the morning, she woke up with an idea to give him the best day off possible. After he left for the restaurant, she got flour, lemon and cinnamon. Their first big memory together was her tasting his wonderful lemon cake, and she wanted to recreate it (but with the lemon from the start this time). She whisked the ingredients together, and put it all in the over. While it was baking, she also got Sea Urchin, Rice and Soy Sauce to make his absolute favorite food: Sea Urchin Rice Bowl. It made her flash back to the days where she was still trying to woo him, and she’d whip it up as a gift to him any chance she got. It made her remember how handsome he looked when he reacted to getting it. Thinking back to those days made her heart skip a beat as she mixed the ingredients together
“He’ll have to take the day off tomorrow if this is waiting for him back home” Annie muttered to herself, “I hope he’s not too overworked right now”
“I hope she’s not too overworked right now” Raeger muttered to himself. He was busy cooking up his own Lemon Cake, and scrambling up eggs, rice and milk to make delectable Omelette rice for his plan to give Annie the greatest day off possible tomorrow. Cooking it reminded him of the days where she’d visit his restaurant and order it, hoping to get more energy to get back to work, and to learn his recipes. It was always the highlight of his day whenever she’d stop by. He was lost in happy memories, but his instincts as his cook ensured he was still just as skillful as ever
He had to help make it up to her for all the happiness she brought him. He sent messages to Fritz, Elise and Giorgio to see if they could help take care of her crops in her stead tomorrow. But he hadn’t heard back from them yet, which had him a bit concerned. Nevertheless, he persisting in perfecting his dishes for tomorrow.
When the restaurant closed, he headed back home. Annie was started to see him.
“It’s nine thirty already!” Annie explained, “Time..must've flew!”
“It was long for me though. I came home to let you know I’ve got to go pick up more ingredients.” Raeger lied, “please, get ready for bed without me.”
“Oh,” Annie said, looking worried and disappointed, “well…don’t stay out too long.”
“I won’t,” Raeger said, giving her a peck on the lips as he went back to the restaurant to deliver the food at home.
“He needs this even more then I thought” Annie thought, as she went to bed, “I just know he’ll love this.”
After she fell asleep, Raeger returned with the food. Since they needed so many ingredients,and crops needed to be stored until the Trade Depot came, the couple had two refrigerators. And luckily for Annie’s plans, he used a different one then she did. As he went to bed, he took the time to put his hand on Annie’s cheek as she slept. She meant so much to him, and he was going to give her a wonderful day in the morning.
Raeger and Annie work up, excited to announce their surprise to each other. But instead of rising sun beams, the two were greeted by the sound a lighting and thunder.
"A Typhoon!” They explained in union. They were so busy lately they didn’t watch the weather report
“I forgot to protect my crops! And after all that planting!” Annie said
“I didn’t announce the restaurant was going to be closed tomorrow” Raeger said, “I’m letting my customers down”
Annie turned to him with empathy.
“Don’t worry. Nobody sensible would go outside today” Annie said, doing her best to calm him down.
“Well, you did just to get an excuse to talk to me every day,” Raeger replied, giving a slight smile.
Annie blushed
“You have plenty of seeds. The animals are happy and healthy. We have plenty of money. You can afford to take the day off.” Raeger assured
“Well, you deserve time to yourself too” Annie said, “Once a week isn’t enough.”
“I’ve got a surprise for you” The two said in union, and then confusion.
They opened the fridges to discover the cakes and meals. The two laughed
“Its…a bit much” Raegar said,
“Well,” Annie replied, “It’s not like we have any other plans for the day.
The couple enjoyed their day of rest. Annie fed Raegar the Urchin, Raegar fed her the omelet rice, and the two of them fed each other the lemon cakes. In between snacks the two spend the day chatting and catching up on how each other's jobs have been lately.
The eventually read the day’s mail, where the other farmers mentioned that they’d love to help Annie, but couldn’t today because of the upcoming storm. They even mentioned the whole town would love to take a load off of Annie and her husband’s shoulders, after all she’s done for them
“You really are so loved.” Raeger said. He hugged Annie tight, “but never forget I love you more then anyone else.”
“Same to you ” Annie said, kissing him as the two laid down onto their bed.
They spend hours in bed together, just cuddling and kissing. Tomorrow they’d have to get back to work, but they knew that when tomorrow came, they’d be more refreshed then ever.
