Chapter Text
Tap, tap, tap. The sound of the tip of the pen hitting the desk repeatedly. A notebook was laid out, barely any notes were written down, but there were a few doodles being thrown out here and there.
It wasn't really notes relating to whatever the professor was saying in the front though, more like a plan… a plan for Valentine's day. But the navy-haired man was frustrated, he didn't know what else to write. All he wrote was ‘bake a chocolate cupcake’ and ‘surprise with’ and that was it.
The thought of giving gifts to that special person made him nervous and embarrassed though. What if that person didn't like what they were given? What if they just decline him and hate him forever? He was anxious.
Who was that special person though? Well, it was a certain person who was seated far away from him, in the second row of chairs from the front. They rarely talk, but he was already lovestrucked by them.
His hair looked soft to touch and was a creamy white, but it resembled a lot like the fluffy clouds in the sky. Eyes that were a crimson and vibrant red that was mesmerizing to stare into with an unusual barcode under his left eye, and his tall yet slim figure. It was easy to recognize him in a crowd full of people.
He didn't have many friends though, but he was gentle, kind, and insanely sweet. His voice was soft and the way he reacts to things is insanely cute too. The navy-haired man didn't understand how he even felt this way for him at all though. He was a boy and so was he, it was like a forbidden love.
But he knew that that wasn't the case. Love is love he thought, and that wouldn't stop him! With the sudden motivation, he stopped tapping his pen on the desk and immediately began writing, however–
Ding-dong, ding-dong…
…Ah, he forgot to listen to the discussion.
Everyone in the class started preparing to eat lunch, some eating in, some about to eat out of the classroom. The navy-haired sat on his chair as he continued to observe them. He sighed, maybe it might be a waste of time to prepare for something like this after all.
Just as he was about to prepare to eat too, a familiar brunet popped up in front of him.
“Yo, Sorapii.” the man waved his hands in front of him. Was he spacing out for a second there?
“A-ah, Urata-kun… what's up?” Soraru wasn't expecting him to be there honestly, Urata would always go and play basketball with the same three people, from the next door classes immediately once it was lunchtime, but guess today wasn't the time for it.
He heard the man standing in front of him sigh, “Did you forget about our assigned pairwork again..? Man, you should check yourself up or something, you always look like something is bothering you.”
Oh, right, it was about the pair work assignment. Guess that man really took up half of his mind, huh? Soraru laughed, “Let's just get going now,” and stood up from his seat before pushing the chair back under the table.
The two were walking towards the library, but as they were walking, a familiar white-haired passed by them. Soraru couldn't help but avert his eyes towards that familiar figure.
He was admiring that man once again. Even if his appearance was a bit messy, he admired it a lot. Even if his walking was a bit clumsy, he still admired it a lot. Everything, he admired. He wasn't perfect, but he was perfect for him.
Soraru didn't even realize he stopped in his tracks until he felt a light but hard push on his shoulder, making him come back to reality again.
“Oi, you good there?” Now Urata was concerned.
“... Sorry, sorry, let's continu–”
“Uh, uh, uh.” He was interrupted by Urata who waved his index finger in front of him. Soraru stared at the finger before he looked at the brunet. Even if you couldn't see it, you can still tell he's holding back a smirk.
Before he could even speak though,
“You like that guy, don't you?”
Soraru froze.
Eh?eh?eh???? Was it that obvious?!?! His eyes were widened, mouth slightly agape as he stared at the man in front of him.
Urata smirked, proud that he successfully found out the reason why Soraru was so bothered ever since a few weeks ago. From the way he would space out in class often, and how he would constantly want to change routes sometimes. This was the behavior of someone who has a big crush.
It's shocking though, you would never expect a top student like him to suddenly act like that in class… at least his grades are still doing fine though.
The two of them stood there, staring at each other until the brunet laughed, “Man, don't worry, don't worry. I won't tell anyone!” Hearing that, Soaru sighed in relief, he knew that he wouldn’t do such a thing anyway.
“Still, it's crazy that you suddenly had a huge crush on that guy anyways… How did you even fall in love with him?” Urata asked.
The navy-haired suddenly fidgeted with his hands, a slight pink tint being brushed onto his cheeks. “... Well, uh…” he paused, “he's cute and… sweet.” His voice was mumbled, he wasn't sure on how to talk about his feelings about that guy to Urata.
It was rare to see Soraru like this. He never showed his true feelings unless he wanted to, which will take a long time. He is a competent and calm person, so seeing him getting shy and nervous about something was a first.
Urata did his best to make out what he said and looked towards the direction where the white-haired, who was now gone, walked through. “What was his name anyways? He's from our class, right?”
“Oh, yeah… he is.” The brunet let out a long ‘ohhh’ at his reply. “His name… I think it was Mafumafu.”
“Mafu— eh!?” Suddenly, Urata flinched. “That name sounds familiar, don't you think!?” His voice was loud, it would be embarrassing if someone heard him from a far.
Soraru looked at him confused. “Huh? Man, are you sure you aren't imagining things?” He sighed.
The brunet held his chin with his thumb and index finger, trying to remember something. “Hmm…We—” however, before he could think, the bell rang again.
“Eh!?” They both said in unison. “Shit, we didn't even do anything at all!!” Urata yelled.
The navy-haired crossed both his arms together and sighed again. “Whatever, guess we have to go back again…”
Urata looked at him disappointed, knowing that they had no choice. “... Guess sooo.”
The two of them then hurriedly walked back to the classroom, both afraid of being late. After running, they arrived at their destination and went inside.
Both the navy-haired and brunet panted slightly and they headed over to sit on their respective seats as they watched the other students walk inside. Soraru waited for Mafumafu to go in as he stared at the entrance door, hoping to recognize that same white hair that he loved seeing.
Finally, he entered the room and Soraru couldn't help but get flustered and averted his eyes. For a second, they both held eye contact before he looked away, and that made Soraru panic. He couldn't believe he accidentally made eye contact with his crush.
Soraru looked down at his notebook and opened it back on the same page where he barely wrote his plan to confess to him on it. He stared at it, forgetting what he wanted to write before the bell rang earlier.
He closed the notebook and sighed to himself internally. This is never going anywhere… He decided to put that thought aside first and focus on studies.
