Chapter Text
The young British man named Arthur Kirkland shouldn’t play a father role in his two younger brothers’ lives.
He was just a child when his father passed away, leaving him and his mother alone. His mother was a good parent until she was left to raise a five-year-old child. When Arthur was sixteen, she gave birth to a Canadian child. When Arthur was seventeen, his American brother was born. Their mother was not very present in their lives, so they spent most of their time at Arthur’s friend, Francis’s house.

My name is Matthew Williams. Unlike my brothers, I have a different last name because we all have different fathers.
As a child, my older brother, Arthur, gave most of his attention to my younger brother, Alfred. He told me that Alfred was a needy and reckless child that needed extra attention, but whenever I was near, I felt almost invisible.
I wanted to copy my younger brother’s behavior. I wanted to be more confident, more reckless, and more loud. However, I still felt invisible.
During preschool, Alfred and I got lost and encountered a dangerous animal. Alfred protected me with a stick and a dream. He had a few scrapes from falling while chasing the animal, but he was fine either way. When they found us again, Arthur still only focused on Alfred, as usual.
Despite being invisible, I still possess my own unique traits and interests. For instance, I really like maple syrup and I enjoy playing ice hockey. I have this white dog of some sort and my glasses prescription is 0.7 in my left eye and 1.00 in my right eye. My hair is slightly brighter than Alfred’s hair and the length is way longer. I really liked Francis’s long hair so I wanted him to cut my hair like his.
When I got older I realized that Alfred really did need the extra attention and as his older brother I needed to give that attention. Now we are in our senior year and we all have different plans.

“Yo, yo, yo!!!!! What is up, guys!!!!!!!!” Alfred had walked into the room with an intense smile and loud volume.
“Alfred, please consider that you could lower your volume ten times lower and still maintain the same enthusiasm as before,” Arthur had replied, with a hint of rudeness.
“Haha, I know you don’t mean that! Anyway, I saw the cutest guy ever at the mall yesterday! Here, let me pull up a photo!” Alfred had the biggest smile on his face and a hint of love in his eyes. “Here, here, this is him. Isn’t he soooooooooo cute!!!!”
“Hey, I think I know him. I had seen him in the art room cursing at some piece of paper”, Matthew continued to talk about how the angry little man was yelling at an empty piece of paper. “I think his name was something along the lines of Lovino Vargas”.
Francis had walked into the door with a plate full of food he had cooked earlier that day. “Oh dear, has the little Alfred got a little crush?!” Francis said with a cheeky grin on his face.
“Hell yeah! Come here, let me show you how he looks! I think he’s a bit older than me!” Alfred was smiling like a child and had a little blush on his cheeks.
Matthew had offered to introduce Alfred to Lovino and he obviously took the offer.
