Work Text:
A faint blush tinted across Mikey's cheeks, warming his entire body despite the winter chill threatening to ruin the day. He hadn't felt this way in a long time. For so long he thought he couldn't feel this way ever again.
A warm hand brushed his then slowly their fingers entwined.
Kazutora was talking about his day at work— how the pet store was doing despite business being rather slow right now… or something, to be honest Mikey stopped listening a while back and was just staring at the way Kazutora's mouth moved, how pretty his golden eyes looked in the light and when would the appropriate time come to shut him up by kissing him stupid?
His hand was too warm, he wanted to put it in his mouth. Kazutora just continued talking, it was cute the way he got so worked up about the little pet shop he worked at with Chifuyu.
His phone dinged, another few million yen was just deposited into the offshore account. That rival organisation would be floating in the river by now— well parts of them. Many people would kill to be in Mikey's position, many people already tried. In the end they just ended up nothing while Bonten prospered.
That hollow feeling he would never say it out loud, he was so goddamn lonely with only the dark impulses inside of him, glad to have the small moments of relief when Kazutora was around.
Yeah he had the others but they were just as broken as he was.
In the end Mikey severed the only rule he set and that was to stay away from his old friends. In his defence once Kazutora found him it was just too damn hard, he wouldn't let go and deep down Mikey couldn't push him away. Not again.
He was the boss.
So now the most vicious criminal Japan has ever seen was fawning over his long lost friend and now lover who was holding his hand and talking about everyday tasks. Silly right?
"Sorry Mikey I've been talking non stop about work, how's your day been?"
"I don't mind. Better now that you're here," Mikey smiles, turning off his phone and throwing it up on the kitchen counter. His arm weaving around Kazutora's waist as he pulled him in for a kiss.
Another lazy Saturday afternoon away from prying eyes in the comfort of Mikey's second loft in Yokohama. Sanzu had been pestering him all week, hounding around him like a lost dog so Mikey sent him on a trip with the Haitani brothers, quickly whisking Kazutora away to this loft instead of his main one in Shibuya.
The only person that knew about this particular place was Kakucho, but he wouldn't dare tell a soul anyway.
Laying back with his eyes closed Mikey rested against Kazutora's lap, fingers deftly wove through his hair as he stretched out like a lazy cat.
Mikey's hair wasn't as long as it used to be nor was it that golden colour anymore but Kazutora played with it all the same.
His head tilted back so Kazutora could run his fingers through his hair more. Every so often he would let out a grunt of approval as Mikey stared at the tropical fish swimming back and forth in their large tank. They looked happy there, just swimming around day after day, having food rain down on them, the water always at perfect temperature. No worries. What a life, just swim, swim.
Today was a good day though, it was quiet and peaceful, well almost quiet. Kazutora had stopped stroking his hair and was now rummaging through some gift bags. What the hell? Play with me some more.
"What are you doing?" He groaned rolling back so his face pressed against Kazutora's abdomen, it was too much effort to get up, slyly propping one eye open.
Eyes widening in delight when he spotted a box of chocolates in Kazutora's hand.
"Try this one, it's a limited edition" Kazutora suggested, pulling a small chocolate out of the heart shaped box and pressing it against Mikey's lips.
Mhm it was good, extra sweet just like he liked with a tinge of something else? Mint maybe? Whatever it was, it was good. Mikey sighed contently, opening his mouth again, hoping Kazutora had more than just that little box.
Kazutora placed another chocolate onto Mikey's awaiting tongue, following it with a soft kiss. If the chocolate tasted really good, the kiss only made it a hundred times better.
Wanting more chocolatey kisses, Mikey nudged his tongue against Kazutora's lips until they opened. Allowing his tongue to slip inside, tracing the inside of Kazutora's mouth to memory and making him groan headily as Kazutora's hands returned to Mikey's hair. Not as playful this time, Kazutora tightened his hold on him, giving his hair a sharp tug, deepening the kiss further. He loved it when Kazutora took control, taking his kisses and whatever else he needed from Mikey's body. It felt good, too good.
When they broke apart gasping for air Mikey laughed between shaky breaths, he wasn't laying on Kazutora anymore but sitting in his lap.
Another chocolate was placed in his mouth, chewing it happily as he rocked his hips against Kazutora's crotch. When the chocolates were all gone Mikey just pressed further and went to licking and sucking Kazutora's neck instead.
"Hey Mikey"
"Mn?"
"Remember that year we stole Valentine's chocolates?"
"Hey it wasn't stealing if they had a lion and a tiger on the box," Mikey huffed, pressing his face against the crook of Kazutora's neck.
Kazutora laughed, the sound reverberating through him making Mikey laugh too, he opened his eyes and stared back.
"Yeah I remember"Mikey grinned, it started with gelato.
Mikey & Kazutora ~ 12 years old
Mikey's feet hit the pavement as he ran down the street, it was cold and his hands shook but he didn't care with his flip flops barely staying on as he tumbled into the crowd of people gathering for valentines themed event, hearts and streamers everywhere.
"There you are," Mikey exclaims, rushing over to Kazutora who had just finished paying for a big chocolate gelato.
"Oh hey Mikey"
Mikey watched him curiously as he held the cone in one hand and tried to pull his scarf up higher with his other hand.
"Here," He reached out adjusting Kazutora's scarf, his thumb brushing slightly on the bruise Kazutora was clearly trying to cover up but before either of them acknowledged it some bumped into them, their heads bumped together and Kazutora's gelato ended up smashed onto the ground.
"no,no,no,no,no that was the last of my money too"
Mikey didn't have any money either, he was supposed to get some from Shinichiro this morning but he woke up late and forgot. Kazutora looked so sad too, it made Mikey sad just looking at his little pouty face.
"Don't worry Kazutora" Mikey pulled on his arm, dragging him away from the sad broken gelato, "lets just enjoy the fair. we might find better sweets i saw them giving away some when i got here"
The Shibuya scramble valentines day fair was a fair dedicated entirely to all things chocolate, the streets flooded with pop up stalls, heart shaped decorations and pretty lights. Mikey dragged Kazutora to look at every single one of the shops, eager to get a free sample of the next best chocolate.
They shoved chocolate into their pockets, laughing as they ran through the crowds.
As more and more people started to flood the streets, Mikey pulled Kazutora off to the side to sit under a big tree. They emptied their pockets and munched on the chocolate, well Mikey at all of his really fast then pestered Kazutora for most of his. Mikey slipped another chocolate in his mouth, laying his head against Kazutora's shoulder.
"Sorry I couldn't get you a new gelato," he murmured.
"I don't mind, it wasn't your fault anyway"
Mikey looked up at Kazutora, he was staring off at something over in the crowd so Mikey just watched him. He was very nice to look at, Mikey thought to himself— he did belong to him after all. Of course he was good to look at.
"Whatcha looking at" Mikey added with a poke to Kazutora's tiger tattoo.
"There's a fancy stall over there, see it? With the red and gold. A big group of people are lining up"
Mikey stood up, then tried to peer over, he could only half see what it was. It must be good if lots of people are over there.
"Let's go check it out," He tugged on Kazutora's arm pulling him up too. "We can get more chocolates I ate mine"
"You ate mine too! Aren't you full??"
"Nope!"
He broke into a full sprint, laughing as he ran, Kazutora running after him. When they got closer the crowd was bigger than he thought, all surrounding a stall in the middle. They slipped between the people until they got up to the front.
The stall was covered in red and gold with lions and tigers plastered all over. In the middle was a series of chocolate boxes to try but in front was one claimed to be "super limited edition" according to the sign. It was a big heart shaped with a lion sleeping and a tiger sleeping on top of the lion. Mikey had never seen a chocolate box looking so cool. And it had a tiger for Kazutora and a lion for him! He needed it.
"Woah, that's so cool!"
"Yeah I wish we could get it. Look, it's kinda like us on the box don't you think?" Kazutora exclaimed.
Mikey rummaged through his pockets, not even a single coin, just chocolate wrappers.
He chewed on his lip, looking over, Kazutora had the same look on his face. He looked devastated and between now and his broken gelato Mikey couldn't stand it. He had to make Kazutora smile again.
An idea struck him, with all these people no one would know one chocolate box was missing.
"Let's just take it" he whispered
"What if we get caught?"
"We won't trust me. Don't you trust me, Kazutora?"
"Of course I do! I just don't want you getting into trouble"
Mikey thought Kazutora was silly, he always worried about other people and not himself. Sometimes it annoyed Mikey because he wanted Kazutora to stop being too neglectful of his own self but it was what it was. Mikey would just take care of himself if Kazutora wasn't going to.
They snuck all the way around the crowd and then ducked under a gap in the large stall. No one was back here, everyone was up the front.
Kazutora saw the boxes first, pointing to the large pile in the corner. Mikey went over and grabbed a box. From the bottom. The entire tower of boxes toppled to the ground causing a large bang, followed by shouts of people coming toward them.
"Hey you kids! What are you doing in here? Put that back!!"
Oh shit.
He didn't need to tell Kazutora to run as they both darted out of the stall. Angry people yelling and chasing them. Mikey grabbed Kazutora's hand as they ran, the box of stolen chocolates under his other arm.
Kazutora squeezed Mikey's hand "Oh shit they are still chasing us!"
They ran through a stall, ducked under a curtain and climbed through another stall. This one was empty. A folded table leaning against the wall, Kazutora moved it and it was now covering the hole they climbed through. Huddled together in the now dark in the corner of the vacant stall, they could hear people shouting about them outside. Eventually the shouting died down, but they were too scared to exit in case people were waiting for them.
Mikey put the chocolates between them. The box was really big, bigger than the normal heart shaped boxes the rest of the stalls had. This one could fit on both their laps.
"Woah," Kazutora gasped, tracing the lines of the tiger, "This really is the coolest and best chocolates ever!"
He carefully opened the box revealing an assortment of chocolates, the chocolates themselves were also shaped like lions and tigers. Each little chocolate contains a different filling like chocolate ganache, custard and of course Mikey’s favourite— red bean paste.
"So worth it, better than the gelato?"
“A thousand times better than any gelato in the world”
They spent the rest of the day hiding away eating the stolen chocolates. By the time they crawled out it was really late, the call for the fireworks went out over the speakers and Mikey once again took hold of Kazutora's hand, guiding him through the streets.
As the fireworks started Mikey continued to hold onto Kazutora's hand. Kazutora didn't let go either, just held on tighter. Mikey hoped that all days would be like this. Just him and his Kazutora, a day filled with chocolate and laughter.
