Made as a gift for my lovely sister. Happy birthday sis.

This isn’t beta read, I’m exhausted and English is failing me so all mistakes are mine and probably should be ignored.

Thank you for reading.

Work Text:

It was a perfect Friday night. Tan and Fang were snuggled up on the couch, taking each other’s warmth in. Not too many assignments for the next week meant that Tan and Fang could cuddle in peace without the stress of any deadlines and watch an episode of Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.

Fang was playing with Tan’s hair, when she suddenly spoke. “Tan?” She didn’t look at the girl leaning against her chest.

Tan, who was slowly drifting off, was woken up by Fang’s statement. “Yes, princess?” She looked up at her girlfriend. Fang tapped on Tan’s shoulder, a nervous habit. The hands around Fang’s waist instinctively tightened their grip.

“I want to try to cook something tonight,” Fang mumbled, biting her lip.

“That doesn’t sound like you want to make spaghetti,” Tan noted.

“Indeed,” Fang chuckled, “I want to try cooking something new. What is something simple I could try?”

Tan thought for a second, leaning her head against Fang’s shoulder. “Scrambled eggs are pretty easy to make. Do you also want to eat rice with it?”

Fang shook her head. “No, I think scrambled eggs are enough to try.”

“I would help with the rice,” Tan laughed.

“Scrambled eggs are enough.” Fang gave Tan’s hair a sniff kiss. Tan melted into the touch, snuggling closer to her girlfriend.

Fang grabbed her phone, checking the time. She allowed Tan to cuddle for a few minutes more before gently unwrapping her girlfriend from her. “It’s getting late. Please teach me how to cook.”

Tan stared at Fang, narrowing her eyes. “Fine,” she reluctantly agreed, getting up.

The two women walked into the kitchen. Tan took the eggs out of the refrigerator. “Do you think eight are enough?”

Fang opened her mouth to speak, but ended up standing there while thinking the question through. “I don’t know. Are eight enough?”

“Depends on how hungry we are,” Tan answered, putting the eggs on the counter.

“I’m not that hungry. Are you?” Fang leaned closer.

“I am,” Tan answered with a nod.

“So that means?” Fang inquired.

Tan chuckled, her girlfriend was adorable. “It means that we indeed need eight eggs. That’s the typical amount. We always have snacks if it ends up being too little.” She took the eggs out of the egg carton before putting it back in the refrigerator and grabbing the cooking oil.

Fang nodded, ready to follow Tan’s instructions. “What’s next?”

Tan took out a bowl and put it down in front of Fang. “Take the eggs and crack them into the bowl,” Tan walked behind Fang, one hand on her waist, the other guiding her hand, “You crack the egg on the counter, not too hard but also not too soft. Then you take it to the bowl and gently peel it open. When you’re done, you put the two halves together and set the egg shells off to the side. Pretty simple right?”

“I think so,” Fang answered, retracing the steps in her mind.

The hand that was guiding Fang’s arm, shifted to her waist. “Now you try,” Tan smiled, resting her head on Fang’s shoulder.

Fang’s shaky hand picked up an egg. She followed Tan’s instructions, not sure of her execution. She let out a relieved sigh when she managed to crack the egg and empty it in the bowl. “Just six more,” Fang mumbled, trying to reassure herself.

With every egg, Fang got more confident in her ability to crack them. Tan watched her with a small smile, feeling immensely proud of her girlfriend for trying something new.

“Well done, princess,” Tan praised with a kiss at Fang's temple after the last egg was cracked.

A bright smile decorated the taller’s face. “What’s the next step?” she requested, snuggling up to Tan with her head.

“Depends,” Fang raised an eyebrow at Tan’s answer, “Do you want dinner to be simple?” Tan continued.

Fang opened her mouth, closing it with a sharp breath. She needed a second longer to think. “I think simple is good. Less to mess up.”

“I would help,” Tan laughed, burying her face in her girlfriend’s neck.

“I know,” Fang whined, “but still.”

“Hmm sounds good,” Tan nodded, “The next step is grabbing a fork and whisking the eggs.” She rested her head on the older girl’s shoulder.

Fang followed Tan’s instruction, making sure to not accidentally send the egg flying by whisking too hard.

“After you’re done with that we can put the pan on the stove, add the cooking oil, wait for that to melt and then add the eggs,” Tan added with closed eyes, enjoying Fang’s body heat a little too much.

Fang nodded, scrambling the eggs. She softly mumbled Tan’s instructions, making sure she remembered them. “If you want me to put the pan on the stove, you have to let go,” Fang spoke after a minute.

Tan backed off with a tired sigh, giving her girlfriend the space she needed. Fang chuckled, shaking her head. She repeated Tan’s instructions, following them meticulously.

“Very good,” Tan praised, latching onto Fang’s waist.

“You’re glued to me aren’t you?” Fang giggled, spinning the pan in her hand, evenly distributing the cooking oil.

“So what if I am?” Tan’s lip brushed against Fang’s ear, sending a shiver down the taller’s neck. Fang cursed under her breath, she had to keep her composure, this after all wasn’t the moment to drop everything and kiss Tan senseless.

“Is there a problem?” Tan teased, deliberately touching Fang’s ear with her lips. She knew the effect she had on Fang all too well and enjoyed pushing the other’s buttons a bit too much.

Fang let out a shattered breath. “Is that even a question?” she answered through gritted teeth.

Tan chuckled, the vibration causing goose bumps on her girlfriend’s soft skin. “I’ll behave. Promised.” She sealed it with a kiss to Khaofang’s cheek.

“You better,” Fang pouted, a smile quickly appearing in its place.

Tan put her head on Fang’s shoulder, inspecting her work. “Now you add the eggs, wait a few seconds for it to cook and then push it to the center. You continue that movement until everything is cooked.”

Fang reached for the bowl with the eggs, gently adding it to the pan and following the other directions. “Like this?”

“Yes, you’re doing amazing.” Tan snuggled into her princess’s neck.

“Are you sure?” Fang mumbled.

“Yes, I am. Try to have more faith in your skills.” She added a sniff kiss for good measure. It caused Fang to laugh. She continued scrambling the eggs with a small smile, her heart overflowing with love for Tan.

“I think it’s done,” Fang spoke after a few minutes of comfortable silence.

Tan looked up from Fang’s warm neck. “Hmm,” she agreed, “It’s done.”

Fang turned off the stove, shuffling to the side. Tan tightened her grip on Fang’s waist. She didn’t want to let go just yet.

“Tan,” Fang complained, not making an effort to change the situation.

“A little bit longer,” Tan bargained.

The older female reluctantly agreed, plaiting their food. They moved as one to the dining table and ate their dinner in silence. A silent agreement between them to finish dinner as soon as possible to return to their drama.

As soon as both their plates were empty, Tan jumped up, taking the plates with her. A bewildered Fang was left at the table while Tan washed the dishes. She looked at Tan’s muscular back with big eyes. Fang hadn’t expected Tan would move as fast as she did. Before she knew it Tan was at her side. Fang looked up at her, opening her mouth to speak.

“Let’s cuddle on the couch,” Tan spoke before Fang had the chance to start her sentence. She took the older woman’s hand, guiding her to the living room. Tan abruptly let go, leaving an already confused and tired Fang in a bigger state of shock.

All Fang could do was stare at her girlfriend as she took the pillows off the couch and arranged them on the floor. Her nose scrunched in confusion. “What is going on,” she mumbled, not wanting to disturb the moment that was surprisingly comforting.

“I’m making a seating area on the ground so we have more room to cuddle,” Tan answered having heard Fang’s mumbling.

Tan was right, the couch was indeed small. Cuddling on the ground seemed like the perfect solution.

Fang chuckled at the sight of her girlfriend arranging the pillows and even a blanket into a seating area. Going back and forth with different variations before settling down on the most comfortable one.

“Done!” Tan announced, jumping up.

“Well done.” Fang smiled, looking at her girl with love filled eyes. Tan was adorable.

The younger laughed like a maniac, twirling on her feet. “Thank you.”

The shorter female reached out, pulling Fang down. “Hold me,” she instructed, already placing the other’s arms around her.

“Needy aren’t we?” Khaofang teased, readjusting her position to a more comfortable one.

“For you? Always,” Tan answered without a doubt, meeting Fang’s gaze.

They stared at each other. Frozen in the moment, almost too scared it wasn’t real.

“That’s cheesy,” Fang laughed, the blush on her face betraying her. She averted her eyes, a sudden shyness overwhelming her.

Tan chuckled. “Well you know how I am.”

Fang hummed absentmindedly, searching for the remote. With a swift movement she grabbed it from the couch and unpaused the episode.

The two girls watched the show in silence. Tan sitting between Fang’s legs and resting her head on the older’s shoulder. Khaofang softly hummed once in a while, gently rocking the other in her arms. It made Tan giggle. The episode they were watching was long forgotten but neither of them moved, acting as if they were still paying attention.

“Did you hear it yet?” Tan asked tiredly when the episode ended.

“No, I didn't,” Fang sang, snuggling into Tan’s neck, “I guess that his ost isn’t played a lot. But Seungmin’s ost is a love song and they aren’t together yet, so there’s probably no reason to play it.”

“Ahhh, makes sense.” Tan mumbled. Her head felt like jelly and yet she couldn’t get herself to move. She didn’t want to leave Fang’s warmth even if that meant falling asleep on the living room floor.

“Let’s get ready for bed,” Fang said into Tan’s hair before kissing it and untangling herself from the heavy body.

“Don’t!” Tan complained, reaching out to Fang and failing. The older woman was already on her feet and Tan? She was sitting on the ground with a pout on her beautiful face.

“You left me,” she mumbled.

Fang laughed at the sight. She hated the word, but Tan looked pathetic right now. “Come on,” She held out her hand, “Let’s go brush our teeth.”

“Fine.” Tan accepted her girlfriend’s hand.

Teeth were brushed in silence. Tan didn’t even try to play around. She only had one goal; cuddling in bed as soon as possible.

Tan tumbled into their bedroom. Her body wasn’t far from giving up due to exhaustion. She laughed it off when a concerned Fang rushed to her side.

“Sorry, teerak. I’m just tired and not paying attention anymore. That’s all,” she said before Fang got the chance to ask any questions.

Fang was ready to argue, but right at that moment Tan pulled her onto the bed, giggling like an idiot. She was an idiot. The biggest idiot. But she was Fang’s idiot at the end of the day. And that was all that mattered.

“You’re crazy. You know that?” Fang stared into her girlfriend’s eyes, a loving look decorating her features.

“I do,” Tan giggled, “and that’s why you love me.”

Fang hummed in agreement.

That was the end of their conversation. Both girls were tired and ready to go to sleep.

Fang stood up, pulling Tan up by her arms. She tucked her in, before slipping under the covers herself.

Tan opened her arms, inviting the other female into a warm embrace. Khaofang gladly accepted the offer, burying her face in Tan’s chest. The younger’s hand tangled itself in Fang’s soft hair, gently playing with it.

Before they knew it both of them had drifted off, still wrapped in each other’s comforting embrace.
