Chapter Text
Today was supposed to be a great day for Hope's Peak new students. Their first day of school, their first day as ultimates. At least that's what they thought after losing two years' worth of memories.
Now, they don't remember each other. They forgot everything, even their age. It's like they were two years younger now. Just thinking about it makes him sick in his stomach.
He used to be the proud headmaster of this school that has now become a prison for his dear students. He felt miserable and stupid. How did he not see that coming? He fell right into their trap. And now, he was dead, only his bones remained.
His spirit was now doomed to haunt this very establishment apparently. Since then, he has seen everything. His students, the last remaining ones, woke up and met in the hall. He was now watching them as they started presenting themselves, meeting for the second time without knowing.
There was Kiyotaka Ishimaru, the ultimate moral compass, a very good student that now lost years of social training. Just like him, Mondo Owada, the ultimate biker gang leader, was back to square one concerning therapy. Chihiro Fujisaki, the ultimate programmer, will have to start all over again their gender-affirming reflection. Let's not forget Hifumi Yamada, the ultimate doujin artist, and Toko Fukawa, the ultimate writer prodigy, that now have the social capacities of a carrot. There was also Byakuya Togami, the ultimate affluent progeny, who will have to fall from his throne, again. Leon Kuwata, the ultimate baseball star, will have to learn what effort means another time, while Sayaka Maizono, the ultimate pop sensation, and Sakura Ogami, the ultimate martial artist, remember that they can count on the others. Takeo Yasuhiro, also known as Celestia Ludenberg, the ultimate gambler, relies once again too much on lies. Then comes Yasuhiro Hagakure, the ultimate clairvoyant, that comes back to having 5 years of mental age. Aoi Asahina, the ultimate swimming pro, and Makoto Naegi, the ultimate lucky student, are the closest to normal, even if they have to assume themselves once again. Finally, there was his daughter, Kyoko Kirigiri, the ultimate detective, she will have to learn to open up to the world again.
Jin was destroyed when he saw them. They lost everything, he thought, and they don't even know it. He felt guilty, he let that happen. He couldn't protect them like he promised. It was too late now. Junko Enoshima and Mukuro Ikusaba. The ultimate fashionista and the ultimate soldier. Both of them formed the ultimate despair. They manipulated everyone and destroyed everything and he couldn't stop them. He should have seen something.
Just like the students, he heard the "principal"'s announcement and it made him feel worse. He felt like he was gonna puke. How dare they pin that on him. No Matter how bad he felt, he followed the group of students in the gym. He was not as surprised as them to find a teddy bear, after all, it killed him. He felt utter disgust when it began explaining the rules of what Monokuma calls a game. They were going to be forced to kill each other. He hoped this was not going to happen, that they would find a way out but deep down he knew, it was only a matter of time before one of them joins him.
