Luz Noceda loves her girlfriend more than anything. And on this special day, she wants to make a good impression.
She's also curious about what her girlfriend has planned.
"Happy Valentine's Day, Sweet Potato!" Luz says upon meeting her girlfriend at the remodeled portal cabin, one arm behind her back to hide her gift. She plants a kiss on the witch's cheek, causing her face to turn slightly red.
"Haha, Happy Valentine's Day, Luz!" she replies nervously, also hiding something. Before giving it to her, she gives her a kiss on the cheek as well.
"Thank you. Guess what? I have something for you! Hermosa," Luz says in an elegant voice.
"I have something for you too, Batata" Amity replies happily.
Luz decides to show it first because she can't contain her enthusiasm. She reveals what she has, leaving Amity speechless and stunned. “Hehehe, well. I admit I might have taken it a little too seriously. But I had to do it. When it comes to you, I'll do anything,” Luz said, blushing because she didn't want to see Amity's reaction to her drawing. It was a drawing traced from a photo Luz had taken, and it looked surprisingly similar. With a few extra details Luz added, you could see the enormous effort she put into it. It was Amity smiling outdoors when Luz took the photo, and the drawing captured that perfectly. It also had hearts and stars, and a little Luz with heart-shaped eyes watching her. A cute little touch from Luz. If that was enough to leave Amity breathless and completely enchanted, when Luz told her there was something for her behind it, it made Amity even more head over heels in love. Luz turned the drawing over, and on the back was a message that read, “You are my everything. I am so grateful that you came into my life. You are a gift from heaven. I am so lucky to have you. I love you, Amity Blight.”
“Hehe, well… What did you think?” Luz said, slowly watching Amity’s reaction to her gift.
“I don’t know what to say… I…” Amity stammered, deeply moved.
Luz laughed and gently hugged her girlfriend, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek without looking at what she was holding behind it.
“Thank you so much. It turned out beautifully. And not just because it’s me, but because you draw so well,” Amity laughed.
“Thanks, although it was mostly because of you,” Luz said, gently nudging her with her elbow, making the witch blush even more.
“So, what are you hiding?” Luz joked, winking.
“Oh, well, look. I know that the times I’ve given you this, it might not have been to your liking. But this time is different. I hope you like it,” Amity said nervously. Something Luz didn’t understand. What did she mean by “it might not have been to your liking”? She liked everything Amity did.
“Here, for you…” Amity said sheepishly, looking to the side as she held out her arms to give Luz something that seemed familiar to the human. Did Amity always hold out her arms the same way when she was going to give her a Fairy Pie?
“Uh…” Luz couldn’t refuse it, especially not today, since it was Valentine’s Day…
She opened the wrapping paper and saw something different. It was the same shape, but it seemed to be covered in chocolate?
“Well, it’s supposed to be common to give gifts like plants and chocolates on Valentine’s Day. So the pie I made you now has chocolates in it. Oh, and I made sure it was obviously lactose-free.”
Luz was surprised by this. It was a nice touch, considering the day and something she liked to give her. She would obviously accept this. Better than the Fairy Pie, that’s for sure.”
“I know it’s not a big deal, but…”
Luz went to her and kissed her softly on the lips. It lasted a few seconds, but it felt like ages. Normally, when they kissed. Amity was as flushed as ever, and Luz loved her more each day.
“Everything you do is a big deal. It was a lovely gesture. Happy Valentine’s Day, Sweet Potato,” Luz said, her forehead pressed against her girlfriend’s.
“Happy Valentine’s Day, Batata.” Amity replied, initiating another, longer kiss.
Even if the gift isn’t expensive or “impressive,” it’s going to be the best. Because it came from the other. And that's enough.
