Work Text:
Time is different here. It refuses to be quantified, but Darling tries anyway. For him, it's day six hundred and sixty-eight; he's still counting. Zane's been trapped in this shifting nightmare realm for over fifty years.
"And you've been alone here, all this time?" asks Darling.
Not alone. Zane had another collaborator; the bastard abandoned him.
"You won't leave me, will you?" asks Zane, his tone less boisterous than usual. His grin falters.
"Of course not," answers Darling, as though he has anywhere to go. He lets Zane kiss him. Zane's touch feels warm and solid; a rare thing, here.
