Chapter Text
Neal Caffrey didn't know where he was. He tried to turn over the facts in his head. He'd been in Paris, then he was kidnapped, he was on a plane for what felt like a long time, held in a warehouse? Maybe? He escaped, he was bleeding. He was bleeding. A lot. His shirt was stained and wet from the wounds on his chest and stomach. His head hurt, was it bleeding too? He couldn't tell. Had he been drugged?
He looked at the buildings that surrounded him. They looked familiar. Why? Not Paris, definitely not Paris. He was having trouble clearing the cobwebs from his mind. Finally it hit him, New York. He was in New York.
Peter. He needed Peter.
No. Not Peter. Not El. Not Mozzie. Not any of them. He couldn't drag them into this. Couldn't risk them getting hurt because of him. Not again. He had to do this alone.
Alone. Alone. Alone. He'd been alone so long. Everything was going wrong, even before all of this. It was wrong, so very wrong.
Tears fell hot down his face. His vision blurred and he couldn't tell if it was from crying or something else. He was alone. He was bleeding. He had no one left to turn to. And he was scared.
Neal Caffrey collapsed on the sidewalk, alone, in the dark.
