You are distraught from what has came to light for you. Your boyfriend of seven months just currently cheated on you with his coworker.
You had an itching suspicion when he would be up late at night answering phone calls or taking way too long bathroom breaks. You wanted to deny it with every fiber of your being, but the signs were showing. On one night after intense training you came home extremely late, stumbling through the front door and tossing your keys on the side table. You just wanted to shower and be relieved from today to only find another woman on your own bed in your house. You screamed at them, kicking them out and telling your ex to get out of your life permanently. You sat down on your bed in disbelief and sobbing over the seven months you just wasted on this person who never loved you to begin with. You thought hours had passed sitting there from how intense your emotions were but in reality it was only a few heartbreaking minutes.
You heard a knock on your door. You were livid thinking it was him. You got up and stomped to the door, opening it roughly in one tug. “What” you said with a harsh tone but when you looked up it was Xavier, your new upstairs neighbor and hunter association partner. “Im sorry i thought you were my ex-“ but Xavier cuts you off “i heard everything..that wretched man cheated on you? Star I’m so sorry we can talk about this, I will order us some food” He looked down at you. Your face covered in tears and your nose beaming red from the panic attack you just had” “Xavier no please you already do so much for me, this is personal anyways. I will get over this don’t worry about me” You start shutting the door on him out of humiliation of the situation and how you looked. Xavier stops the door gently in the process, putting his strong forearm against the wood. “Star please, helping you would make me feel better. I can’t let you sulk alone knowing the situation you are going through” You think for a moment pressing your head against the door and taking a deep breath in. “Okay Xavier let me freshen up first” you start turning around, leaving the door open for him to welcome himself while you go change your clothes and fix your hair from training.
You start running the shower, the hot water caressing your skin and slightly burning it the way you enjoy but standing here in the bathroom thats connected to bedroom you witnessed your ex’s infidelity is weighing in on your emotions. You start crying, you cant hold in the tears anymore. You sit down on the shower floor and hold your head in your arms. You didn’t realize how much time was slipping by and to be honest you didn’t care.
You were betrayed and heartbroken and wishing that this never happened to you when you heard a soft knock on your bedroom door. You almost forgot about Xavier. You panic getting out and wrapping a towel around your sore body but before you could get your clothes from your bedroom drawer, he lets himself in, standing in shock with his face slightly turning a pinkish blush seeing you just in your towel. “Star I’m.. I’m so sorry but i was so worried about you, it’s been awhile and i heard you crying about that boy. I will leave now, i apologize for walking in on you”
“Wait..Xavier” you grab his wrist without thinking shocking him and yourself. “Its nothing, thank you for checking on me” you nervously muttered out. Xavier nods and smiles leaving the room, leaving you with your thoughts of what just happened. You quickly get changed and dry your hair off as much a possible before putting it into a wet braid. You didn’t want Xavier to be waiting any longer than he had. When you leave your room you saw some candles lit and dinner he ordered on the kitchen counter. “Xavier you didn’t have t- “I wanted you to relax, you had a horrible day so let’s at least enjoy this moment” you smiled at his kindness and quickly walked over to grab the food.
You guys flopped on your couch and he puts on your comfort show. Once the episode was over and the food was gone you looked at him but before you could say thank you once more, your words caught tightly in your throat. He looked so beautiful, so kind and soft. You caught yourself off guard.
“Why were you thinking this way? He just comforted you that’s all” you thought but …maybe in the back of your mind you knew the answer already.
