Chapter Text

It was cold, freezing cold.

The battle field had the lingering smell of death, an unnatural fog swirled in the air as if kami himself had descended.

Bodies were scattered like a person's twisted work of art, the sky dark and unforgiving as the bitting cold cooled the bodies faster than natural. In the darkness of the sky laid a red moon so unnatural it made quite the horrific sight.

It wasn't just the daunting redness but the unnatural black commas surrounding what seemed to be the pupil of an eye. It gave off an eerie red glow into the already daunting night.

Strangely enough there were survivors left in this mess, however it didn't seem they wouldn't be surviving for long.

A weak breath escaped a blond that laid on his side. His ribs were caved in, the bones puncturing his lungs with every breath. There were various other injuries scattered across his body and his blue eyes dimmed faintly in his last hours.

Cradled tightly in his arms was a woman with hair the color of mid-night, eyes the color of the moon that also dimmed signaling her last moments. Her lower body however was a goresome sight the exact opposite of her peaceful, serene face.

Her stomach was torn wide open revealing her crushed intestines, her heart could be seen as it pulse feebly every few seconds. Her blood slowing traveled down to the ground joining the ever growing pool under them.

The two curled about the open stomach as if trying to protect something that's not there or something that was long gone.

Not far from the previously mentioned couple laid yet another couple.

Their hair clashed together like night and day. On the right laid a woman, bright pink hair ruined by the blood and mud around her, the light already leaving her spring green eyes. Her body was slowly turning to ash, fading away from existence in a slow and painfully way as she tried and fail to keep clutching the hand beside her.

Beside her, to her left a male with hair dark as night bled out from his face where two eyes had been torn out of the sockets two iron rods stabbed through in finality. His left leg was no longer there adding to the multiple injuries he had. His chest weakly rose with the force of his breath, clinging to the hand holding his.

"W-we t-ried so- so ha-rd" came the rattled breathing of the blond male, his voice filled with a sob he couldn't make in fear of making his injuries worse.

"I-t's ok n-na-ruto.....no- no o-one b-bla-mes you" the already half faded woman assured. She smiled despite knowing the blond or anyone for that matter, couldn't see it.

"H-hina- i-m- im so s-so-rry" silent tears rolled down his tan cheeks as he gazed at the woman beside him who couldn't even speak, she just smiled eyes dimming farther.

"Let it out dobe-... keeping it in only makes it worse"

And so the blond cried, ignoring the pain that came with it. He cried as the life in his fiancè eyes finally died, he cried when a person he considered his sister faded from existence and he cried when his brother in all but blood fell silent in death, he cried when his own bones worked to silence him.

He cried until he couldn't cry anymore and in his last moments he cursed the sky for giving him everything just to take it away, for giving him hope just to realized there was none. First giving him people to protect just to fail them.

In the end, after it was all said and done. Uzumaki naruto took his final breath in the company of the still cooling bodies of one Hyuga hinata, Haruno Sakura and Uchiha Sasuke.

But the prophecy was never suppose to end this way. All prophecy must be fulfilled even as it travels through time and through dimensions.

A prophecy was a prophecy.

Around Japan, in an entirely new dimension, four children opened their eyes to see a new world. Four souls in unfamiliar but familiar bodies, four old souls that has yet to figure out where and who they are.
