The way the magic system of EW & OT works is that a way to get magic is that you can gain it from trauma, in which case the Gods of Magic (Magea and/or Thorn) appear to the person in a dream giving them magic!
Certain kinds of Trauma lead to certain kinds of magic, there's more about it in my magic system writings if you want more info but that is the basic idea.
Beast tamers
Able to communicate and tame the wildest of beasts. Whether that is talking to them, mimicking them or capturing their essence for spells.
Side effects: animals potentially turning on you, losing humanity, being called by nature
Matching Trauma:Unable to connect with humans, being all alone in this world

Creators
Able to take a little bit of their magic and embed into homunculi and golems with ease. naturally crafty by nature
Side effects: unexpected parenthood to your new creations, unexplained bruises, unexplained knowledge
Matching Trauma: Unable to connect with humans, being all alone in this world

Elementals
Able to be in tune with a primal force. Fire can’t burn them, water won’t drown one of their own, earth welcomes you with open arms, air breathes through and guides you. There's more but that’s the main four.
Side effects: fire breathing, watery throw up, overwhelming exhaustion, fevers, colds, numbness in limbs, side effects align with what elements you control.
Matching Trauma:Parental neglect, near death experience involving said element

Able to touch others and feel emotions, able to dispel emotions like weapons, take emotions and bottle them. Magic is tied heavily with emotions.
Side effects: mood swings, spontaneous crying, fits of angry, uncontrollable laughter, overwhelming thoughts, depression,
Matching Trauma:Having to know what everyone’s feeling to avoid outbursts,

Healers
Able to mend bones, cure illness, restore sight, hearing. Anything that is broken can be put back together with the right healer .
Side effects: fatigue, weaken immune system, loss of limb, passing out, gray hairs, loose teeth, internal bleeding, congestion,
Matching Trauma:Survivor's guilt, needing to fix everything, feeling like a burden

Illusionist
Able to create illusions, hiding places and people, bring the wildest dreams to reality.
Side effects: hallucinations, escaping from reality, derealization

Mind Mages
Telekinesis, mind reading, mind controlling, able to speak the languages of thousands just by hearing it
Side effects: bloody noses, ear bleeding, tunnel vision, vertigo, fatigue, blood crying, aneurysms, seizures, headaches, migraines, ringing in ears

Oracles
Can see the future in many different forms. Through a glass ball, through dreams, as quick flashes. They can see different versions of the future or farther in the future if they look hard enough.
Side effects: brain fog, migraines, headaches, vision static, paranoia
Matching Trauma: Being shamed by past actions, crying over ‘split milk’

Able to communicate with one of the divine beings of this world. Visions, dreams, letters, premonitions, signs,
Side effects: mania, paranoia, eye bags, exhaustion, learning things that you wish you hadn’t, vomiting as your body is trying to expel this parasite
Matching Trauma: NONE, this is a special case of magic

Protector
Able to create weapons, shields, with magic for short periods of time. can also create other object but made with the purpose of protection
Side effects: hallucinations, this ability becoming weaker if not used over time, flinching, knee jerk reactions,
Matching Trauma: having to constantly take the blows and suffer for sins that aren’t your own, being the eldest child,

Seers
Can see auras, hidden ghosts, vibes,can spy on others. They often stare into space, smiling or frowning but fear not, they aren’t looking at you, they're looking at who's behind you. They are old souls, no matter what age they look like they have seen the wonder and horrors of the world

magic is channeled through the body, able to turn into different animals, manipulate parts of the body and morph beyond human limits, and can turn invisible.

Matching Trauma: Dysphoria, being unable to be themselves b/c they’ve always been what others wanted, life altering injuries, caving to societal pressures
