MY LITTLE OMEGA PONY
In the golden meadows on the outskirts of Equestria, where wildflowers danced in the breeze and the sun painted everything in soft pastels, there lived a pony unlike any other.
Beomgyu was an omega pony of breathtaking beauty, his coat a warm caramel that shimmered like honey in the light, and his mane a cascade of luscious, curly brown waves that bounced with every step he took. His eyes were large and sparkling, framed by long lashes that fluttered like butterfly wings, and a delicate scent of sweet roses and vanilla clung to him like a gentle, irresistible omega fragrance that turned heads wherever he pranced.
He was the prettiest omega pony for miles around, and he knew it.
Beomgyu held his head high, tail swishing elegantly, as he trotted along the dirt paths near the little village. His hooves were dainty, polished to a soft gleam, and he carried himself with the grace of a pony who had never known a bad hair day.
Trotting beside him most days was his best friend Rosé, a confident alpha mare with a sleek rose-gold coat and a mane of soft blond waves that caught the light like spun candy. Rosé was bold where Beomgyu was dramatic, protective where he was picky, and she never failed to roll her eyes fondly whenever Beomgyu turned down yet another suitor with a haughty neigh.
Ever since he came of age, alphas from all over had come to court him. They brought the juiciest apples, the ripest berries, bundles of fresh hay tied with ribbons, and once even a shiny new horseshoe charm.
They showed off their finest courting displays. Stallions would prance in wide circles around him, hooves lifting high in rhythmic steps, manes flowing like banners in the wind. They nickered softly, nuzzled the air near him, and sometimes gently groomed his mane with careful teeth if he allowed it close enough.
Some reared up playfully, showing off strong shoulders and glossy coats, while others pawed the ground to kick up little clouds of dust in impressive displays of energy and virility.
Beomgyu would toss his curly mane, give an arrogant little neigh that sounded almost like a laugh, and flick his tail dismissively.
“Hah! Too showy,” he’d mutter under his breath.
“Hmph! Too loud,” he'd roll his eyes.
Or sometimes, with a smart flick of his ear, “Do you really think a few fancy steps will win me over? Oh my, please.”
His sharp tongue sent many alphas trotting away with flattened ears and bruised egos.
"Another one bites the dust,” Rosé would chuckle, bumping her shoulder against his. “When are you going to stop playing hard to get and just admit who you actually want?”
Beomgyu would flick his tail at her. “When the right one stops being so frustratingly oblivious.”
Because beneath that stunning exterior and sharp banter with his bestie, Beomgyu’s heart was set on one pony alone.
Soobin.
Soobin was tall and quiet, his coat a deep midnight blue that gleamed under the sun like polished sapphire. His mane was straight and dark, falling neatly over kind eyes that rarely met anyone else’s for long.
He worked hard every day, leading his younger siblings (Yeonjun, Taehyun and little Kai) to the best grazing spots, making sure they had the freshest grass and the coolest shade. He pulled carts of firewood for the village elders, helped mend fences after storms, and never once complained. His scent was steady and warm, like cedar and intoxicating whiskey comforting rather than overwhelming.
Beomgyu had eyes only for him.
He tried everything to catch Soobin’s attention. One sunny afternoon, Beomgyu dramatically flopped onto the grass near the grazing field, fanning himself with a hoof.
“Oh nooo,” he whined loudly, “I’m so terribly dehydrated! The sun is just awful today!” He peeked through his curls to see if Soobin noticed.
Soobin glanced over, ears twitching, then calmly trotted to the nearby stream, scooped water in a broad leaf he’d found and brought it over without a word. He set it down gently beside Beomgyu.
“Here,” he said softly. “Drink.”
Beomgyu blinked, cheeks warming. He sipped daintily, batting his lashes. “My hero~”
Soobin just dipped his head politely and went back to his siblings.
Another day, Beomgyu accidentally got a pebble stuck in his delicate hoof. He limped exaggeratedly past Soobin’s grazing spot, wincing theatrically.
“Ow, ow, ow! My poor hoof! It hurts so much!”
Soobin was there in moments, kneeling carefully to examine it. With gentle lips, he nudged the tiny stone free, then blew softly on the spot as if to soothe it.
“Better?” he asked, voice low and calm.
Beomgyu’s heart fluttered. “Much better now that you’re here,” he purred, leaning in to brush his muzzle against Soobin’s cheek.
Soobin stiffened slightly, then stepped back with a small, polite smile.
“Glad to help.” And off he went again.
Beomgyu huffed, stomping a hoof. Why wouldn’t he flirt back?
Worse still were the other omegas who fluttered around Soobin like colts to a sugar cube. They’d giggle and bat their eyes, offering him flowers or complimenting his strong build. Beomgyu’s tail would lash, and he’d trot over with his chin high.
“Excuse me,” he’d say sweetly, but with an edge sharper than a thorn. “Soobin’s busy teaching his little brother how to find the sweetest clover. Maybe you should go elsewhere.”
The other omegas would scatter, muttering, while Soobin just watched with quiet amusement.
One golden evening, as the sun dipped low and painted the sky in pinks and oranges, Beomgyu couldn’t take it anymore. He found Soobin alone by the stream, washing mud from his hooves after a long day of work. The water sparkled around him, and for once, no siblings or chores demanded his attention.
Beomgyu marched up, heart pounding.
“Soobin!”
Soobin looked up, ears perking. “Beomgyu? Are you okay?”
Tears welled in Beomgyu’s big eyes before he could stop them. His voice cracked.
“I’ve tried everything! The fake thirst, the fake pebble, the flirting, the glaring at everypony who looks at you sideways… and you never… you never say anything back! Do you even like me? Or am I just some pretty nuisance who keeps bothering you?”
Soobin’s eyes widened. He stepped out of the stream, water dripping from his legs.
“Beomgyu…”
“I love you!” Beomgyu burst out, tears spilling over.
"Soobin, you big oblivious idiot! I’ve loved you since the first time you led those foals to the sweetest clover! You’re kind and strong and quiet and… and perfect! And I thought maybe if I was pretty enough, or clever enough, you’d notice. But you don’t. You just help and walk away, and it hurts!”
He hung his head, curls falling over his face like a curtain. An embarrassed and heartbroken lady pony stood there sniffling in the twilight.
Soobin was silent for a long moment. Then he stepped closer, gently lifting Beomgyu’s chin with his muzzle so their eyes met.
“I’ve always loved you,” Soobin said quietly, voice steady but thick with emotion. “From the day you first pranced by with that arrogant little neigh and made every alpha in the field trip over their own hooves. I thought… I thought I wasn’t good enough. You’re the prettiest pony in Equestria, Beomgyu. You deserve somepony flashy, somepony who can prance circles around the meadows and bring you mountains of apples. I’m just… me. A working alpha with too many siblings and not enough shine."
Beomgyu stared, tears still glistening on his pretty lashes. “You… you idiot,” he whispered. Then he laughed through the sniffles. “You’re the shiniest thing I’ve ever seen. You don’t need prancing or apples. You have kindness. And that’s rarer than any jewelled horseshoe!”
Soobin’s ears flicked back shyly but a small, real smile curved his lips, the first one Beomgyu had ever seen directed only at him.
“Then may I court you properly? Grazing together. Watching the stars. Helping each other.”
Beomgyu’s tail swished happily. He leaned in, pressing his forehead to Soobin’s in the gentle pony way that meant everything. “Yes. But only if you promise to neigh back when I’m being arrogant."
“Deal.” Soobin chuckled, a soft, warm sound.
As the stars began to peek out overhead, the two ponies stood side by side in the meadow, manes brushing, scents mingling—sweet roses and vanilla with cedar and whiskey.
Beomgyu nuzzled Soobin’s neck. “You know, you’re stuck with me now.”
Soobin nuzzled back, gentle and sure. “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
And in that quiet moment, under the vast Equestrian sky, the prettiest omega pony and the hardest-working alpha finally found their perfect match, no flashy displays needed but just two hearts that had always been trotting toward each other.
Friendship was magic, yes. But love? Love was the spark that made everything glow a little brighter.
