Work Text:

The power was out.

One would think that with all the money that went into handling security and maintenance that Yuei High would be ready for something as simple as a snowstorm, but with the recent attacks, the funding had to be redirected. The resident mechanic figured they could get the heating system back up and running in no time, but that didn’t do much good for Toshinori as he huddled on the couch in the teacher’s lounge, thin arms hugging himself, trying to retain what heat he could, already able to see his breath in front of his gaunt face.

Maybe if he moved around a bit it might help. He got up, immediately feeling the cold threatening his bones, and he only took a few steps before he hit something in the dark with his foot.

“Ouch,” a voice said, a tone of familiar irritation rising from the floor.

“Aizawa-kun?” Toshinori narrowed his eyes and in the dim light he could make out the other teacher, rolled up in his sleeping bag. The glint of slightly red eyes caught his gaze. “What are you doing here?”

“I was napping,” he said, as though it was obvious. “What are you doing here?”

“I was here when the power failed. I can’t…go out like this, with the students milling around.”

“Why don’t you just transform for a moment so you can get off campus?” When he didn’t respond, there was a small ‘tch’ from the yellow bundle. “You used up all your energy on the way in again. Idiot.”

Toshinori’s voice got a bit louder as he tried to explain the snow monster and the five car pile-up and –

“I don’t care,” Aizawa continued, and he opened the sleeping bag a fraction of an inch, one thin hand gesturing at him. “Come on.”

“I…what?”

“Get in. It’ll be warmer if we cuddle together. But if you start bleeding, I’m tossing you out into the hallway. Understand?”

Toshinori nodded, although he had to swallow back the mouthful of fluid that rose up in his throat at Aizawa’s invitation. It had been years since he had been this close to the other man, but already the chill was making his side ache.

“Last chance,” Aizawa stated, and Toshinori quickly scrambled in.

It was strange. From the outside, it didn’t seem like there would be much room in the bag, but it stretched around them. It was lined with a soft fabric, and the immediate relief from the frigid air made him sigh contentedly. For a second, Toshinori didn’t know where to put his hands - at his sides? on Aizawa? against his chest? - but the unspoken question was basically answered when the dark-haired man pulled him flat against him by the waist, burrowing into his slight form, arms circling to his back.

“Better?” Aizawa asked, his fingertips brushing idly up his spine.

“Yes. Thank you.” Even despite the awkwardness, this was much better, he had to admit. He shifted his body, pressing his palms to the waist that was so near to his own.

“You’re irresponsible, All Might. What would we tell the students if the Symbol of Peace got pneumonia?”

Toshinori chuckled at that, stopping short when he felt something hard jab his thigh. “Aizawa-kun, are you…?”

“Hmm?”

“Something is…touching me.”

“Ah.” Aizawa reached down between them, and Toshinori froze, gasping sharply, about to protest (or was he?), until… “One of my juice packets. Forgot about that.” He tossed it out of the bag.

“Oh, I…I see.”

“Idiot,” Aizawa declared, but Toshinori could have sworn he heard a smile in his voice as he pulled him closer, going back to sleep.
