“Sunny?” I would have turned to face him but he forced me to close my eyes by putting his hands over them. “Where are we going?” I didn’t really expected an answer as the boy was mostly quiet and used minimal amount of words.
My point was proven when all he did was hum slightly and we continued walking. I just sighed in response to that. My mind started to drift on what was so special that Sunny had to cover my eyes for?
I probably frowned when i couldn’t think of anything. Also because Sunny spoke up a bit whispering, “You should smile more. It looks cute on you.”My face got a little hotter and I was sure I was blushing at least a bit, but Sunny didn’t seem mind.
The rest of to walk was silent and I can kinda recognize the route. It feels like we are going to Sunny’s or Kel’s house. We suddenly stoped and Sunny took his hands off my eyes to open the door. He pointed inside, and I listened. My feet started moving to be inside the house.
When I was inside, Sunny stepped in and closed the door behind him. The house was dark and silent. Then Sunny turned the light switch on.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY BASIL!” I jumped a bit at the sound, then looked up to see all of my friends rushing over to give me a hug.
Wait…was today my birthday? I didn’t even realize. I guess it made sense why Sunny was being like that then.
Aubrey pulled back and looked at my confused expression. “Basil, are you okay?”
I looked at her and smiled. “I’m fine. I guess I kinda forgot what day it is.” I giggled a bit when saying that.
“How can you forget your birthday?!” Kel’s voice came in.
“It’s okay Basil.” Mari stepped in. “We all have forgetful days. Well let’s all go to the backyard shall we?”
We all started walking to the backyard which was decorated for the event.
“It’s pretty.” I said.
Kel responded. “I blew the balloons!”
“Thank you Basil. We all decorated, but it was all Sunny’s idea.” Mari smirked and turned to face her little brother.
I faced him as well and blushed slightly, probably from embarrassment. “Really Sunny?” The black hair boy nodded back at me trying to hide his face. I smiled and giggle a bit, then stepped forward to take his hands away from his face.
“Hehe, I love it” My arms wrapped around him. “Thank you guys.”
“Of course. Happy birthday Basil.” Hero said.
Everyone came to me for a group hug. I started laughing and everyone else started laughing as well.
Kel shouted out loud. “Let’s play hide and seek!”
Hero responded. “Kel I don’t think there are lots of places to hide in the backyard.”
“We can play with the seeker blindfolded and we just make sound to help them” Kel replied.
“I think that’s called Marco Polo, Kel.” Aubrey told him.
“Shut up Aubrey.”
“Language Kel!” Hero said.
While they were bickering, Sunny grabbed my hand and dragged me to the treehouse.
We went inside and sat in the corner. Sunny then suddenly wrapped me and put his head on my shoulder. My face was burning up a bit.
“Cute.” Sunny whispered and turned away to hide his blushing face.
We sat in silence, not knowing what to say. Sunny quickly gave me a quick kiss on my cheek then buried his cute face in my shoulder.
“Happy Birthday Basil.” His voice was muffled from my sweater.
I giggled a bit. “Thank you Sunny.” I also gave him a quick kiss on his head.
I stepped away to look at what was going on. Sunny seemed a bit upset that I left him but he quickly followed me and watched at the rest of the group with me. Kel and Aubrey still seemed to be fighting and Hero trying to break it up.
“Come on Hero. How do we expect to have children if you can’t break up a fight.” Mari teased. Hero was blushing, which I don’t think it’s helping the fight that was happening. Mari smirked then gave him a kiss on his cheek. He was blushing really hard and was probably gonna pass out any second.
Me and Sunny laughed a bit at the sight.
Kel stopped all of a sudden to ask. “Hey. Where is Basil and Sunny?”
“Kissing probably.” Aubrey answered him.
“Ew.”
“Shut up Kel. Love is beautiful.”
We both shuffled to the back corner of the treehouse to see how long it takes to find us. I doubt it would take long since there was only one hiding spot.
I was proven correct when Mari climbed up looking a us with that same smirk.
“What were you guys doing?” She looked like she wanted to laugh.
I was gonna answer her but Sunny covered my mouth and we both climbed down the treehouse.

I can’t believe that was 4 years ago. It felt like yesterday to me. I cried softly in my pillow. “Oh how things change.”
