Genma blinked, confusion written across his face. “What?”
Gai laughed, amused, “Yeah, my favorite food is curry.”
Ebisu raised an eyebrow, clearly as confused as Genma was. “But, whenever you and Kakashi eat together, you always steal his tempura! You’re telling us it’s not even up there?”
He shaked his head, “No no, you’ve got it all wrong! I eat his tempura ‘cus he doesn’t like it.”
Genma deadpanned, “Can’t he just order without it, then? You don’t need to baby him. He’s made that pretty clear to all of us.”
He puts a hand on his chin in thought and shrugs. “Well, I guess he could. I don’t mind it, though. It’s better than seeing him complain!”
Ebisu sighed, annoyed with his comrades. “He complains regardless of whether the tempura is on his plate or not. I say you just let him deal with it.”
Gai frowns, “That’s mean! And like I said, I don’t mind!”
“I just find it odd.”
Later that day, they confronted Kakashi about the same thing.
“Oh? Er… I don’t want to make a fuss about it when we order. They always serve it complementary with what I order, and Gai likes the extra food.”
Ebisu quirked his eyebrow, “Why don’t you just get it on another plate?”
“Did you not hear what I just said? I said I don’t want to make a fuss about something so minuscule.”
Genma huffs, crossing his arms, “So he learns to take food from people’s plates from you? It’s annoying. Don’t you feel the same?”
Kakashi laughs, “why would I? He really is quite nice for doing that.”
