Work Text:

Allaslen and Beata fell in together because it was simply easiest that way. They trusted each other insofar as either of them trusted anyone. Wardens have to be able to rely on each other to guard their backs in combat, but an order consisting in large part of condemned criminals is not one much inclined to trust each other. Allaslen and Beata, at least, were paranoid in compatible ways.

They hadn’t known each other for very long when they first fucked. It felt a fairly natural escalation. They were young, sleeping next to each other each night to stay warm, the campfire’s heat insufficient, and both of them lonely and adrift. Allaslen, at least, can admit she was curious about the alleged Grey Warden stamina as well. Once they’d fucked once, it was more and more comfortable to do it again.

One of the other Wardens asked, once, if there were feelings involved, and Allaslen didn’t know how to answer. Of course there were feelings involved, Beata was her friend and they cared for one another. There simply weren’t romantic feelings involved, and there didn’t need to be. Both of them were perfectly content like this.
