Work Text:
The starlight filters through the open windows, lighting up Boon’s room. Outside, there’s no sound but that of a light breeze.
For the first time in years, Win isn’t scared of closing her eyes. She keeps them open because she wants to, not out of fear.
Boon has her arms around her waist, holding her close enough that they become one, pressed together as they are on Boon’s bed. Win’s head is tucked underneath her chin, and, not for the first time, she wonders how she’s deserving of this after what she did in her past life.
It matters not what she deserves, she decides. This is all she has ever wanted, and nothing could take it away from her now.
Win pulls away slightly to look up at Boon. Even with her hair messed up by sleep and the night’s wind, the sight of her is still dazzling. Win runs her fingers through her hair, softly enough not to wake her up, thinking to herself that she has spent lifetimes loving this woman and she’ll spend some more if it means they get to have this forever.
Her life is a tapestry of tragedies, except for Boon and her love. Win comes alive by her side in the way she never allowed herself to before.
You’re mine, she thinks, and knows it to be the absolute truth. Across curses, decades, and darkness.
