Chapter Text
The announcement from the speakers on the train woke Sammie up from her seat. She must’ve dosed off
“Attention, passengers. We are now approaching Saint Petersburg. Please make sure you have all your belongings and mind the gap between the train and
the platform.”
She grabbed her bag off the seat and walks out of the train onto the platform. There’s a cold breeze in the air, and the station feels crowded.
To give a little background info, Sammie and Fedya are colleagues, and they’ve been friends for a while. She found out about the clones, and while Fëdor was hesitant at first, but he has to admit, extra help with eight other clones is greatly needed. What neither of them expected, though, was her growing feelings for one of the clones; Romeo. The more time they spent together, the closer they got.
As Sammie walked out of the train station and onto the path she knew by heart towards Fedya’s apartment, she ran her hands through her curls, her grip tight on her backpack. As she rang the apartment doorbell, the front doors unlocked and she made her way upstairs. When she knocked on the door, Fedya opened the door, peeking out and letting her in.
“Hey!” She greeted. She could already hear commotion coming from the apartment as she came in. She left the groceries from her bag on the kitchen counter.
“Hey…I have to head to class, could you help around the house?”
“What’d you need?”
“Just- do some chores and help out. I really appreciate it.”
“Alright…”
She starts packing away the groceries as he walks out the front door. He seems to be in a hurry.
She’s surprisingly good at getting all the clones under control. Even Waru, who at first tried to throw her off the balcony.
As evening falls, she sits on the couch with all the others, curled up in Romeo’s lap. She quietly asks him; “Do you wanna go out…?” Romeo’s hands stopped moving in her hair. “Like, go outside? On a walk?” “Yeah.” She responded. “I know a good food shop nearby. We can get noodles.”
They sit up and grab their jackets while the others are distracted yelling at the TV. They walk out of the apartment, hand in hand. The sun has set and it had started to snow. After they’d got their food, they sat down on a bench and started eating in silence. Then it hits her. This was their first public date. Sure, they've watched movies and cuddled and all that, but that was it. They've never even kissed, despite Romeo's tendency to be a horny bastard. It was comfortably quiet for a while, before Sammie spoke up.
“I’m really glad we got to do this.”
“I agree, we should spend more time together.”
“Y’know, you’ve been amazing recently. You’re just- fun to be around and whenever I see you my heart skips a beat-“ She stopped herself before she could go on a tangent. Romeo laughs.
“Is this why you wanted to go on a walk?”
“Of course…y’know, we’ve never made things official.”
“Well, let’s make it official now.”
They both stared at each other in silence.
Then he kissed her.
She was frozen in shock. Then she was euphoric. It felt like time had stopped, like they were the only ones on Earth. His lips tasted like cherries, a taste she could get addicted to.
As they pulled away, she turned red, refusing to meet his gaze. They finished eating in comfortable silence.
As they made their way back home, Fëdor greeting them at the door, looking worried. “Where were you two?? I called multiple times-!”
“Calm down!” Sammie responded. “We were just outside. Just in the neighborhood.”
Fëdor sighed with relief. “At least pick up when I call.”
“Yeah, sorry.”
“Anyway, thanks for your help. It’s getting late, shouldn’t you leave…?”
“I will, I will.”
Fëdor goes back to his room and closes the door. All the others seem to be asleep. She grabs her bag, then turns to Romeo.
“I guess I should go.”
“Sure…”
He gives her a kiss to her forehead before reluctantly letting her go
“I love you.”
“I love you too.”
