Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Pli’s Plea

Chapter Text

 POV: Zanesha.

“Get- Get away!” This is what the stranger, who was in my locker, was able to say after I made sure they weren't dead. It was strange: they seemed to be unresponsive, until they got up. And although there was no case that Detective Z couldn’t handle, I needed to soothe them first.

“Woah, woah, woah. I’m not here to hurt you. What’s your name?” The stranger’s breathing slowed down, their hand’s shaking slowing as well. “I’m Pli. Pli Roberts. You?” was their answer. “I’m Zanesha. What species are you?” I asked. “...Human, what are you?” they said, after a slight pause. “Bipid.” I responded. “What’s a human?”

POV: Pli.

Zanesha’s (if that is their real name, I couldn’t be sure) question caught me off guard; Humans were the dominant species (as far as I was aware), and I’ve never heard of a “Bipid”. I thought for a moment that I was dreaming, but the feeling of ground beneath my feet told me otherwise. After a long moment, I said, “I could ask the same thing, what’s a ‘Bipid’?” Zanesha responded with “One of the three basic races”, like it was the simplest thing ever. “So what’s a human?” they continued. After finding my words, I decided on: “It’s the basic race as far as I’m aware; I don’t know of any other sentient species. Where am I anyways?” Zanesha said simply, “Cosmonious high.”

POV: Coach Leti.

I wasn’t informed of a new student today, but I’m not informed of a lot of things. What caught me off guard, however, was the fact that I’ve never seen anyone of this species before; the last time a new species was invited to Cosmo high, we had a whole meeting about it. Before making any assumptions however, I decided to have them use the hand scanner.

“ERROR! SPECIES NOT RECONIZED.” the intercom said after the scan was completed, before continuing with: “Please wait for assistance, Help is on the way!” The newbie looked scared at that, their hands shaking slightly and their shoulders hunched when they heard that.

POV: Pli.

“So what is your species name?” one of the scientists asked, this one calling itself a “Trisk”.

“Human.” I responded, I was quite uncomfortable in this situation. Another one, this time a “Flan” used what I think was a stethoscope on my chest. “Breath for me.” “Sir, my lungs are down here.” their stethoscope was on my heart, so I pointed to my lungs to help them out.

[we cut to after the examining]

“Well, you are definitely not one of the three basic races, that’s for sure. What you are, however, is strange. What’s your home planet and galaxy?” the Bipid doctor asked. “Well, I’m from earth, in the milky way I think, although I’m not sure if I’m in a different universe at this point; I’ve never heard of a ‘Bipid’ or a ‘Trisk’ before.” To that, the doctor simply went “hm” and put my info in the scanner. While they were doing that, they said “We have a planet in a far away galaxy that you might be from; It’s too far to travel to or from though. How you got here is quite a mystery.” The doctor showed me a planet that was in no way earth; it was purple and white. “Not my planet. Mine’s blue and green.” I responded. The doctor raised an eyebrow at this, and said matter-of-factly: “That description matches no planets we know of. I guess you are from another universe.” They paused, and then continued with: “well, your species is in the scanner now, I’m going to go now.” and like that, they simply left me with more questions than answers.
