Shinoa and her squad, including Mika and Narumi, had decided that they were going to take a walk on the beach to relax. Protecting civilian’s from the four horsemen of John was about as taxing as it sounded. The waves crashed on the shore and everyone chatted amongst each other casually.
Yuu and Mika trailed behind a bit, as usual, talking intimately. About what, no one knew, but what they did notice were the two holding hands. They were a rather odd pair, seemingly obsessed with the other, so, while it was a bit strange to everyone else, they kind of shrugged it off. However, Yoichi decided to ask.
“Why are you guys holding hands?” He turned around to look at them.
Yuu and Mika stopped talking, looked at him, looked down at their hands, back at each other, then back to Yoichi, “Why not?” They asked in unison.
Yoichi didn’t seem to have an answer for them so he just shrugged and turned back around, the group continuing their walk.

It was morning, and Mika was making breakfast. How a vampire knew how to cook, they didn’t know. Yuu saying that it must’ve been a skill he kept from when he was human. But, no one complained because Mika was an amazing cook.
Narumi was sitting at the table, drinking tea and watching some birds in the grass out the windo.
Mika was turning over some eggs in a pan, when Yuu came up behind him and snaked his hands around his waist, hooking his chin over his shoulder, watching his movements.
“Morning, sleepyhead.” Mika said sweetly.
Yuu tucked his head in the crook of his shoulder, complaining that no one should be forced to take part in mornings.
Mika chuckled and continued folding the eggs.
Narumi watched them quizzically, deciding to ask, “Yuu, why are you draped over him like that?”
Yuu picked up his head and turned to look at Narumi. He tilted his head as if he were confused by the question and replied, “Why not?” And dropped his head back on his shoulder.
Narumi squinted at the pair, not quite understanding, but shrugged and dropped it.

It had been a slow day, no attacks, no errands to run, so Mika and Yuu had decided to take a nap. It was approaching dinner time so Kimizuki had decided to wake both of them up. He went to Yuu’s room first, seeing as how Yuu hates to get up, he’d give him time to actually move while he woke up Mika. However, when he got to Yuu’s room, he found it empty. He could’ve sworn he said he was taking a nap. He shrugged and went to Mika’s room.
He opened the door to find both Mika and Yuu intertwined on Mika’s bed, happily napping on top of the blankets.
Kimiuzki just stood there and blinked at them. What was up with these guys?
Mika, with his oversensitive hearing, had heard the door open and opened an eye. When he saw Kimizuki he asked in a sleepy voice, “Hey, what’s up?”
“Uh, dinner’s almost ready, you two should get up.”
Mika nodded, moving slowly as to not startle Yuu and started petting his hair, waking Yuu up gently. Yuu stretched and Kimizuki could practically hear Yuu purring.
“Uh, why you guys sleeping together?” Kimizuki questioned.
Without stopping his ministrations, Mika looked over at Kimizuki and furrowed his eyebrows together in confusion, “Why not?”
Kimizuki just stared back and sighed, he didn’t have time for this. He just turned around and left.

The next morning, Mitsuba woke up and walked into the kitchen to get some water. On her way there, she passed the bathroom, which was cracked open. She heard Yuu’s voice speaking around a toothbrush. She was going to reprimand him for leaving the door open like some voyeur when she heard Mika’s laugh.
She was confused and opened the door to see Yuu with a towel around his hips, brushing his teeth, with Mika standing behind him, already dressed and… brushing Yuu’s hair?
“Uh… what are you guys doing?” She asked, taken aback by the situation.
Yuu looked over at her, “Uh, getting ready?” He said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. He bent down to spit out the toothpaste
“Mika why are you brushing his hair?” She continued.
“He always complains about having bedhead, so I figured I’d help him out. Though, it’s kind of pointless…” He said.
Yuu turned around and smacked him playfully, and Mika giggled, then brought his hand up to wipe away some toothpaste that was on the corner of Yuu’s mouth.
“Oh, thanks!” Yuu said brightly, smiling at Mika.
“Why do you guys act like an old married couple?” Mitsuba questioned throwing her hands up in the air, staring at the pair in shock.
They looked at her and shrugged, “Why not?” They replied in unison.
She groaned and stomped away, leaving the two confused in her wake.

Kimizuki, Narumi, and Yuu were off to restock the supplies for their cabin. Mitsuba and Yoichi had already left to do a perimeter of the area. Before the three boys left, Mika kissed Yuu on the forehead telling him to be careful. Yuu smiled and waved him off, boasting about how great of a fighter he is and he’d have no problem even if an infestation of four horsemen attacked them. This caused Kimizuki to crack a joke about how he was full of himself, and the three set off, with Kimizuki and Yuu arguing all the way until Shinoa and Mika couldn’t see them anymore.
Shinoa turned to Mika, “hey, you two are really close.”
Smiling in the direction that the group had walked away, without looking at her, he replied, “Yeah, we are.”
They walked into the cabin, Shinoa prodding more, “So, what were you two to each other before the whole incident?”
Mika turned and looked at her quizzically, “Family, but you know that.”
Shinoa sighed, “I mean, yeah, I know that, but you two are like… intimate.”
“And is that a bad thing?” Mika asked, completely confused as to why Shinoa was questioning this.
“Well, no, but, the way you act, it’s as if you guys are like, lovers or something. So, why do you treat Yuu that way?” She was trying to figure the pair out.
“Why not?” He replied.
Shinoa groaned, “I’m just gonna go clean.”
She walked away and Mika stood, watching her, completely confused still.

“I’m heading off to bed, you coming, Yuu?” Mika asked, standing up and stretching.
“Nah, I’ll be there in a bit though.” He stood up, declaring he was getting a drink, then kissed Mika on the cheek, and with that Mika went to bed.
The others were all asleep, so it was just Shinoa and Yuu at this point.
Shinoa followed Yuu into the kitchen, determined to get to the bottom of this, “What’s with you and Mika?”
Yuu leaned against the counter, a cup of water in his hand, “What do you mean?”
“I mean all the kisses and touches and hand holding and intimacy. That.” She said, crossing her arms over her chest.
Yuu shrugged, “I don’t know, I’m comfortable around Mika, he is my-“
“Family, yeah yeah, I know, Mika said the same thing.” Annoyance creeping into her voice.
“Wait, you asked Mika this, too?” Yuu asked, “Why is this so important to you?” He put the cup in the sink and leaned up against the counter again, elbows resting on the surface.
“It’s not important, I’m just confused. Why do you treat Mika like a lover?” She finished exasperatedly.
Yuu pondered that for a minute and then looked back at her, “Why not?”
Shinoa practically screamed in frustration, bringing her hands up to her face.
Yuu cocked an eyebrow at her, “Yeah, so, I’m going to bed now. See ya.” And he walked off.
Shinoa was going to put an end to this nonsense once and for all.

The next day, Mika and Yuu were on the couch. Mika was reading, and Yuu was tucked into his side just enjoying his company.
Kimizuki, Narumi, Yoichi, Mistuba, and Shinoa approached them in a group, Shinoa crossing her arms and standing in front of the pair.
They both looked up at her and Yuu asked, “Hey guys, what’s up?”
“Don’t ‘what’s up’ me, Hyakuya, this is an intervention.” Shinoa stated.
Yuu glanced at Mika who shrugged, just as confused as he was.
“An intervention…?” Yuu asked carefully.
“Yeah, of whatever is going on between you two.” Shinoa said.
“Between us?” Yuu was getting more and more confused by the second.
“Are you two idiots in love or what?” Kimiuzki asked.
Yuu and Mika looked at each other and then back at the group. They shrugged.
“Mika, do you love Yuu?” Yoichi asked.
“Of course I do.” Mika said without hesitation.
He nodded, turning to face Yuu, “Okay, Yuu do you love Mika?”
“Duh, guys what is this?” Yuu asked.
“It’s us telling you two to get your heads out of your asses and just admit to being a couple.” Kimizuki stated, clearly getting annoyed with the situation.
Yuu looked at Mika, and Mika looked back, a smile forming on his lips. Yuu started smiling when he did and just shrugged, not looking away from Mika, “Yeah, sure, why not?”
Mika leaned down and pressed a kiss to Yuu’s lips and the group just stared back at them in complete shock. Shinoa was the only one to react, yelling out, “SERIOUSLY?”
Nothing changed between Mika and Yuu, seeing as they already acted like a couple to begin with. They were happy with each other, so the group decided to back off and let them be. Though, Yuu and Mika did sometimes show a bit of extra PDA in front of Shinoa to cause a rise. Their reasoning?
“Why not?”
