The elevator doors opened and the people inside were surprised by the contrast between the yellow light and the spectacle of colors in front of them.
The first chords of Queen's "We are the champions" immediately began to play, followed by a familiar voice.
Ava had already told them that the invitation slipped under the door was from Alexei. She phased just in time to see him running away.
"WELCOME TO THE GLORIOUS. FIRST. THUNDERBOLTS. KARAOKE"
Alexei skipped ahead to the chorus and started singing screaming, “WEEEEE ARE THE CHAMPIONS, MY FRIENDS, WE KEEP ON FIGHTING! TILL THE END”.
Everyone was about to leave when Mel showed up with a tray of shots. Yelena was the first to grab one, much to Mel's dismay.
Their living room had been set up like an improvised karaoke bar. They had brought in a small wooden platform as a stage, a machine with three microphones, and a screen hung behind it.
"Do you seriously approve of this?" Bucky asked.
"Val approves everything that means group bonding, especially if it means social media content".
"Come on! Today we are going to be impressed by our team’s talent. The Sentry’s powerful voice, Lady Ghost’s lethal performance, my Lena’s beautiful voice. Maybe Mr. Barnes can show us some good old tunes and Captain here can sing the national anthem”, an excited Alexei said.
"Well, we have nothing else to do" Bob said, hands shoved in his pockets. "And we've got drinks and-"
"You do know super soldiers can't get drunk, right?"
"Not easily. Come on, Walker man, test your limits!" Alexei patted his back and handed him a little bottle.
It was going to be a long night.
