Chapter Text
In music, the introduction is a passage or section which opens a movement or a separate piece, preceding the theme or lyrics. This is often known as the song intro or just the intro. The introduction establishes melodic, harmonic or rhythmic material related to the main body of a piece.
And Yoisaki Kanade was doing just that. Composing was what she spent hours doing, and if she wasn’t careful, she could even spend her whole life composing. Day and night without a wink of sleep, a drop of water or the most microscopic morsel of food, it was always that regular when it came to her.
And, right now, she was sitting in her chair, headphones on, with her energy drink in hand doing just what you would expect her to do with that little introduction: composing. She had just started a new piece to save her fellow circle member, friend and roommate, Asahina Mafuyu.
She took one sip of the canned drink before she placed it down next to her with the slightest clink, followed by the lightest tap as it came into contact with the desk and continued to work on the intro for her song.
Her sole concern at the moment, as she thought about presenting it to her music circle, Nightchord at 25:00, to arrange it and add some relatable lyrics and a well organised and creative mv with eye catching and expressive art, instead of it being a instrumental piece. She swerved in her chair from her monitor to her synth, back and forwards before her stomach started growling.
It wasn’t very surprising, she had been composing for hours since she got up, even through Mafuyu getting ready to go to school.
She got up to get some cup noodles, her favourite. The only thing that doesnt require too much effort to take, make and clean up the mess, whilst still tasting like the best thing on Earth. As she got to the kitchen, she opened the cupboard…
No cup noodles she thought as she went to close the cupboard doors… wait no cup noodles? She suddenly thought as she composed herself, that can’t be right. So she opened the cupboard doors once more.
She thought if she opened and closed the cupboard enough times, then they would magically appear. But no matter the desperate attempts, there were no cup noddles. She probably looked stupid with that generally inexpressive face of hers, but that wasn’t her main focus right now.
“Hmmm… maybe Mafuyu might have hid them …It’s ok, I just have to get one from my stash” her soft voice stated calmly.
She then walked back to her room, closed the door and rummaged from her stash from one of the several boxes of papers scattered around her room, specifically from the box furthest from her monitors but closest to her bed.
Still nothing…
And even she knows, Mafuyu definitely couldn’t have found about this stash. The note scribbled papers and the general layout of her room is proof of that. She sighed. She knew Mafuyu would take a long time to back home, and Mochizuki Honami, part-time housekeeper for Kanade, also went to the same school as Mafuyu.
“Mafuyu won’t be back from school for a while, and Mochizuki-san won’t be here until the evening…” she put one of her hands to her face “looks like I’m going to have to buy some myself” as she went to put her shoes on.
Then as she opened the door, a ray of sunlight hit her directly as a shiver went down her spine. She shut the door almost instantly.
“Way too bright…” as she went back to her room to rummage for a pair of sunglasses.
Alright. Now she was prepared to leave the confines of her home and especially her room, where the curtains shielded her from the light like a knight holding off a monstrous dragon from your average fairy tale.
As she reached for the door handle and stepped out of her home, key in hand as she locked the door as the walk towards the store commenced. It would just be a quick job, go in the store, buy the cup noodles and go home.
Nothing really crazy can happen now can it?
