The sun is beaming out as it shows off a coastal beach in Paldea, the Brave Asagi was parked on the other side of that beach. On the other side there were several people/pokemon who were having a bit of a holiday for themselves. Firstly, under an umbrella and towel was Liko wearing her swimsuit that she wore at the other beach while surfing Gholdengo, and was reading a book under the shade of the umbrella. Also Dot who was wearing a swimsuit though it was different from the other one, it was like Liko's one from the last time they were at a beach but it was purple and whitish, she groans as she was resting there feeling hot from the sun.
Dot sighs as she turns around and looks at Liko. “Man I can’t believe you guys managed to convince me to come out here to the beach, when I could be in my room editing my videos!” She said as was waving her hands near her head trying to cool it from the heat.
Liko heard her as she then turn towards her. “Hey you can stay in there forever Dot, you have to get out of there sometimes!” Liko said as she then looks back at her book.
“I guess you're right, but did you have to pick a place where it’s so hot?” Dot questioned. “Hey it was the only beach we could find that didn’t have people there as we’re trying to lay low.” Liko said as she just shrugged as they both went back to what she was doing. Dot groaned as she got out her Rotom Phone and tries to look up things to at least entertain herself.
Meanwhile, in the water, Roy and Ult, both in their swimming trunks, were wearing goggles and exploring the reefs underneath as they were coming up for air and started swimming to the shore, Ult had some rocks in his hands as they reached the shore. “Man the reefs under here are so cool! And the rocks there looked cool too!” Ult said as he was looking over the three rocks he collected there. “Glad you found rocks, just try and don’t put them on the floor next time?” Said Roy. “Gotcha.” Ult said back as they were walking back to where the girls were.
“Hey guys, we’re back from diving! Ult said as he and Roy got a towel each and were drying themselves while doing so Liko started looking up from her book and stared at Roy and started blushing a bit, to which Roy caught her looking at her where she looked back at the book and he started blushing a bit as he looked away.
Dot saw both of them blushing and avoiding looking at each other, she knew that the two were starting to see each other more than friends but the two didn’t want to try to do it as they wanted to stay as friends. She then shoulder tapped Ult as he noticed as he was about to say something but she hushed him and whispered in his ear which was to get both Liko and Roy alone.
“So me and Ult are going to explore the beach for things we’ll see you guys later!” She said putting the two on the spot as she grabs Ult’s hand as they both leave the two there. “Hey wait a minute!” He said as he was dragged off though he started blushing hard as he’s not used to having a girl in general let alone one touching his hand.
The two were startled at both of them leaving Dot dragging him through the sand and him being embarrassed at that so suddenly but as they left it starts to settles in for both as they start blushing as they look at anywhere except each other. They realize they were stuck in an awkward situation and either confront this or try to get out of it. Both were too good natured to want to do it to each other and didn't want to hurt the other one’s feelings.
“Sooooo….” Roy starts off trying to break the awkwardness. “How are you doing?" He then sits down next to her with his towel on his neck.
“It’s all good, I'm enjoying my book.” She tried to say something while her eyes were staring at her while putting her book down. It got quiet again as they still were feeling awkward around each other.
“Man this is so awkward….I need to try and ease this feeling with Liko, but what?” He thought and pondered what to do. “....Wait, I got it!” He figured out what to do. He turned over to Liko and he breathed in and out and then put his hand on Liko’s shoulder to which it made her turn to see it. “Uh Roy what-” She said but stopped as he spoke up.
“Hey?” Roy said in a suave low voice, though it just lasted a while for the both of them to say anything only for Liko to speak up. “Uh hi?” She says as Roy starts sweating bullets after doing that as he thinks it landed with a thud. Liko starts to wonder what’s up with Roy. “Are you alright Roy?” She asked as Roy just sighs defeat as he lays on his back on the towel. “I…..sorry about that Liko, I just…..wanted to be cool to impress you.” He said as he turned to see her. She then smiles as she then laughs a bit.
“It’s ok Roy, you don’t have to since you're already cool enough.” She says trying to compliment him to make him happy from his embarrassment. Roy smiled a bit at her compliment. “Thanks Liko, but I’m not sure about that, I don’t feel like I match Amethio in how he is.” He nodded, feeling a bit discouraged looking a bit down.
“Wait where’d this come from?” Liko looked confused at him saying this. Roy then looked nervous for a bit but sighed as he was already with her so might as well say more to her as he turned to face her.
“I….I dunno, I just see him with you and he looks cooler and more confident than me, and I guess I feel a bit…..jealous.” He said to her, looking a bit down at that statement as he felt like he couldn’t compare himself to Amethio at least in his eyes. Liko noticing this felt a bit bad for him thinking that she wanted to at least cheer him up on that.
“And why do you need to compare yourself with him? You’re really great on your own!” She says trying to make him feel better about himself. “I mean you’re the leader of the RVT, and you can do Mega Evolution, and you’ve gotten the Black Rayquaza’s approval, you’re awesome!” She said listing off the feats he’s done. “.....And certainly better than me.” Though she then looks down as her eyes look sad as she smiles to herself kinda putting herself down. Roy notices this and looks in her direction to pay attention. “What are you talking about Liko?” He asked her. She looks down and starts to frown.
“I don’t know but it's just lately I’ve been having ... .imposter syndrome, I don’t feel like all this is mine.” She says but Roy then gets up and grabs her hand, surprising Liko a bit.
“
“Hey don’t say any of that, you're pretty awesome yourself, what, I mean you’re related to Lucius who's a hero, and look at your pokemon you’ve raised them by yourself, Meowscrada, Hatterene, Pagogo, and Armarouge. That’s gotta be something to be proud of!” He said complimenting her to which Liko looked happy at this.
“Wow, I…thank you for that Roy, that means a lot to me.” She said blushing as she grasped his hand. Roy notices this and he starts to blush as well. He starts thinking and then decides now would be a good time to do “that” He closes in to her face and gives her a kiss on the cheek.
Liko was then surprised at this as she gasped but didn’t say anything as she and Roy were blushing.
“What!?” She thought to herself panicking in her head “W-w-why did he kiss me? Does that mean that he might…” She thought more as her mind reached some form of conclusion. “..there’s only one way to know.” She thinks as she’s made up her mind on knowing what to do.
They both stayed silent as the two looked away until Roy spoke up.
“I…..Liko I just…..I’m sorry, I just wanted to do it since…..I-” He was stuttering but was stopped as Liko then went up to him and kissed him on the cheek and then looked down embarrassed. Roy has his hand on his cheek, the part where Liko kissed until he spoke up.
“Roy…..I just wanted to just say….I….like you…I’ve liked you since we’ve met again .” She said straightforwardly getting it out there, Roy was stunned at her saying this, blushing as he tried to get the words out.
“Liko…you…..I.” He tried to get it out but couldn’t find the words to say to her. He had his arms on his head rubbing it as he needed to say something as Liko was watching him.
“I feel the same, I like you too.” He blurted out wanting to get it out in the open, he looked up at Liko, she was blushing really hard as she heard from Roy. She then suddenly gives him a hug, glomping on him as they both fall down onto the tarp with Roy at the bottom and Liko at the top.
“Roy……I’m so happy at this…..to know that you feel the same way.” She said to him, sounding like she was bursting with joy, though she then stopped hugging as she was in thought as Roy then noticed this as they both got back up but were still holding each other's hands. “I know we’ve been having a lot of things happening to us, and I don’t want to get distracted with everything else but ... .can we work on this later?” She said wanting to plead with Roy about wanting to worry about their relationship later.
“I mean, yeah I kinda agree with that, but lets just enjoy this for now and worry about the relationship later!” He said wanting to enjoy this moment with her. Liko agreed as they went back to holding hands while sitting down as they looked over the water still holding hands happy that they both know each others feelings for the other.
Behind them near the rocks was Dot looking at the two. “Yes they finally did it, it was finally time for them both to confess!” She smiles as she knows that the two confessed somewhat, and near her was Ult and Sableye looking through the sands for rocks only to get harassed by a Palossand as it swallowed the rocks he was looking at.
“Hey! Give me back my rock!” He said to it as it was running away and he chased it as Sableye was snickering at the plight his trainer was in. To which Dot sighs at this as she then slightly blushed.
“Sigh….I wonder if I can…..no he could never understand….if only.” She thought to herself if she would be able to confess to him and would he feel the same as she followed after him to make sure he didn’t hurt himself from his shenanigans.
