Work Text:

Virgil’s sense were fully consumed by the effects of the hours prior.

Layers of assorted thin novelty blankets that had strange spiral patterns he couldn’t quite make out through the gaps between his faded purple fringe that slumped onto his forehead. He truly didn’t care for it either. Logan’s head was lying on his chest. Virgil was treated to the rare sight of seeing Logan’s hair a mess. Different shades of brown that were lightened due to the summer beams were arranged in a style that appeared disorganised . Disorganised , not like his desk with fallen over energy drink cans and arranged piles of fake earrings, but disorganised in a way that was terrifyingly domestic and safe. They reminded him of the safety they had felt in each other company.

Just beneath Logan’s messed up head of hair was a pair of thick frames that had even thicker lenses. They were straining to stay on his face as they lay awkwardly on top of eyes and no longer tucked tight between the logical side’s ears. Virgil picked them up and lifted them off his face as if they were something rare and delicate. They folded easily and were placed on the nearest flat surface. Likely in the morning , Logan would be mildly annoyed at his glasses not being placed in the box he bought them in on top of the things cloth that he used every morning to routinely clean them but Virgil had little care for the future at this point.

The last red glowing speck on the incense stick had fell on the windowsill. The lavender scent had caught his attention . The day itself had been partially troubling for thy both of them. Thomas had been planning more and more with his videos recently . More ambitious projects were being made and that meant more schedule making. Obviously, the thought of a dedicated schedule has excited Logan. Virgil may have been relieved at the predictability of the future days.

That was until they overlooked something and double booked 2 important meetings, which meant prioritising and cancelling. As worrying as that was to cancel and disappoint, he didn’t expect Roman and Logan to argue about which meeting is more important to do first so long that they ended up being unable to attend either , meaning the schedule was ruined. Prolonging these eventual products and ending in disaster. Even after these past months of good progress , it all was worthless.

Not really. Logan had assured him that progress was made and that was what was important. Not the schedule. Not the meetings that were essential.

Virgil did have a thought though throughout Logan comforting him through his panic. He couldn’t quite tell if Logan was saying this just to calm him or if he needed to hear someone just say it , if only it was himself talking to himself. Schedules were so important to him. He understood why but Thomas just couldn’t seem to stick to them.

The train of thought was interrupted by a particularly loud breathing outwards by Logan. The routine breathes of the asleep logic did help Virgil with his own breathing. Even unconscious, Logan helped Virgil somehow and he was , of course, grateful for that. Even if it was hard to show it. The logical side could be so oblivious sometimes.

Virgil looked at his ceiling with the dull blue-white LEDs looking down on them and attempted to drift off. Slumping down into his bed and bracing himself to be woken up by his boyfriend’s loud 7:00AM alarm in 3 hours.
