Summary:

Your ordinary life as an office worker in Kyoto, Japan is disrupted when you gain the ability to see cursed spirits. Special circumstances lead you to Tokyo Jujutsu High School, where you meet Satoru Gojo, who takes you on as a special enrollment student for the Summer. Your goal in all of this is to learn just enough to get your cursed energy under control so you can return to your normal life, but what happens when “normal” loses its meaning? And when the mysteries around the origin of your powers start to unravel, will you have what it takes to deal with the aftermath?

A story set three years after the end of Jujutsu Kaisen, with lots of liberties taken with canon events. MAJOR ANIME AND MANGA SPOILERS. Will update weekly on Fridays until I catch up with my current writing spot.

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

The year is 2021. Nearly three years have passed since the infamous events of the Culling Games and the Shinjuku Showdown. The Shibuya and Shinjuku Wards in Tokyo remain desolate and overrun by cursed spirits. Much of the damage sustained elsewhere in Japan has been repaired, and life goes on. But, for those who know where to look, the scars remain.

Rumors about the final battle between the King of Curses and The Strongest Sorcerer of the Modern Age, have swelled into legend among Jujutsu Sorcerers and Curse Users alike. The facts vary depending on who is telling the tale: some say Satoru Gojo died that cold December day, and that the tall, white-haired man sometimes glimpsed on missions is nothing but a fake, meant to scare off his enemies; others claim that Gojo is alive and well, and that he puppets the new Jujutsu order from the shadows.

Controversy and conspiracy weave and merge, making it impossible for the average sorcerer to tell the difference. However, a select few know the truth: Satoru Gojo survived that day, along with many of his allies who fought at his side. But, surviving does not mean escaping all consequences. Much like Tokyo itself, those who remain from that day are not without their scars.

Even with the major threats gone, the last few years have kept the sorcerer world busy. A new Jujutsu Council sits in the place of the previous higher-ups and powerful clans that once ruled, but tension lingers over this new era. There are those who question whether the council will be able to completely fill the power vacuum left behind.

Despite the challenges that remain, there exists a collective hope that, with time, the power of cursed spirits will decrease now that the King of Curses has been defeated. So, in the meantime, Jujutsu Sorcerers continue the grueling labor of protecting the general public from a darkness of its own making, while a new generation is built up in the more hopeful image of fresh leadership.

In the midst of burgeoning hope, uneasy peace, and rumors run amok — this story begins.
