It always had to come back to Rose, didn’t it?
Not Martha. Not Martha Jones. It was always her. Always Rose Tyler.
Maybe she had to re-evaluate her own feelings for him. That first meeting on the moon. Maybe it simply meant nothing to him. But she helped revive him. It was him who offered to take her out.
But no. All he could mention was Rose Tyler. Sure she was probably a nice girl. But could he pay some attention to the girl standing in front of him?!
Whatever, she would be over it soon. She stared at the column as it rose and fell, the cold clunking and harsh wheezing being the only noise in the TARDIS. One that would be comforting if not for everything that had happened. But it wasn’t. And Martha had enough.
After this. She needed to get out of there. Martha was done.
