Raj's mission was simple: go into the pharmacy, buy what he needed, and then go home as if nothing had happened, obviously hiding what he'd bought. He wasn't going to have that talk with his mother, no thanks!
So going in was the easy part. Everything was normal; the place was half empty. There was an old woman buying her Alzheimer's pills and a mother with her son who kept fuming about going home.
He ignored them and started walking down the short aisles, looking at all the things for sale. A toothbrush! He definitely needed to buy a new one, but he didn't have the money for that.
Toothpaste, hand cream, dental floss, stupid stuff...
He finally reached the hallway he was looking for, and with shame weighing on his shoulders, he walked, trying to hide his obvious embarrassment and nervousness
"They're supposed to be here..."
He told himself, glancing both ways. Finding what he was looking for wouldn't be so difficult, and it wasn't. At the end of the hall were the packages of condoms. Secretly, he was glad they were at the end of the hall
"Who puts condoms next to diapers?"
He muttered under his breath, glancing at the row of diapers to one side, then at the small packages in front of him. There were too many options. He usually went by the colors, but he had a feeling that wasn't a good idea. There were so many different brands and colors, and Raj was wasting his time reading each package.
"Cherry flavor? They have flavor?... Are they edible? That's weird."
He chuckled at the thought. It was kind of silly, but he knew he'd try it, just out of curiosity
Just as he was about to decide which one to take, he heard a familiar voice a little ways away. He glanced over the counter and saw Wayne on the other side of the store. He instantly panicked, trying to find a way to hide, and his desperation grew even more when Wayne noticed him too. "God forbid the earth should swallow him up" sounded a thousand times better right now.
He ducked down, losing sight of Wayne, and looked around for a lame excuse for why he was there, until he found his salvation right under the packages of condoms... and baby products. No, seriously, who decided to arrange everything like this?
"Rajie! Dude! It's great to see you here!"
Wayne waved happily, walking over to Raj.
When he saw the peculiar items hanging neatly, he looked at his friend again.
"What are you going to buy bro?"
"Baby powder! A friend of my mom came to visit and brought her son, they asked me to come and buy baby powder because baby powder is important due"
He showed Wayne exactly what he had mentioned about three times, smiling excessively; his palms were sweating profusely, and if he kept that silly smile, he would soon turn into a puddle of water.
"Cool bro! I came to buy paracetamol, my mom sent me too!"
"Cool!"
Afterwards, the two went together to the cashier to pay for the necessary products.

Raj returned to the pharmacy that same afternoon, this time more determined. He already had something in mind, so all he had to do was go in, take what he wanted, pay, and leave. It was simpler than a few hours ago, and without Wayne there, he could finally buy what he wanted
he went back to the diaper and condom aisle, bought some blueberry-flavored ones because he wanted to and could.
And also because he once heard Bowie say he liked blueberries
He went to the cashier . It was empty. He called out a couple of times to get whoever was on duty. After a few minutes, an older woman arrived. She seemed friendly to everyone, which Raj didn't think was a good sign, not because the cashier was an older woman
It was bad because she was his mother's friend
He quickly threw the package to the floor and kicked it away, smiling nervously.
"My boy, how lovely to see you here! Did your mom send you?"
"Uh... yes! Yes, it was her. She wanted me to buy... uh... these!"
Without thinking, he grabbed one of the products from the counter. They were children's vitamins, nothing special.
"Just that?"
The woman asked. It was as if she knew Raj had come for something else, and he felt cornered by it!
"And... uuhh... Donepezilo! Yes, that, donepezilo, She definitely want that"
That was the only word on Raj's mind, all because he'd overheard someone talking about those pills that morning. He didn't even know what they were for, but as long as he didn't make the cashier think otherwise, it was fine.
It was never a good idea to go onto the ice without a plan. Raj had learned that when he was nine on the junior hockey team. That day he'd peed himself because the coach wouldn't let him go to the bathroom before the game.
Now he felt the same way. Only instead of pee himself, he was spouting stupid words
She handed her the container with the pills.
"Anything else?"
"A toothbrush, please."
And she handed her a toothbrush—blue, cool!
The woman asked the same question again.
"Anything else?"
"Um... one of those cheap boxes of hand cream."
And she handed her the box of hand cream.

Luck was finally smiling on him after abandoning him all day. He was already at Bowie's house, the TV on and no one paying attention. Both boys were very busy exploring each other's mouths. Bowie was playing with Raj's hair, stroking it as if it were the softest thing in the world.
Meanwhile, Raj let Bowie do whatever he wanted. It was a shame for him when his boyfriend decided to keep his distance.
"You bought the condoms, right?"
He asked, caressing his chest so as not to move too far away from Raj. In response, the boy reached down and grabbed his backpack.
He opened it and turned around in front of Bowie, letting a bunch of things fall out: a new toothbrush, a box of hand cream, a bottle of pills, vitamins, new lip balm, paracetamol, baby powder, a children's watch, among many other things.
The blond boy looked at the things in front of him, then at Raj, who was looking downcast. Bowie began to move some things around curiously, they were all new
"I don't understand."
Raj sighed in defeat and clasped his hands together, fidgeting with his fingers to calm his nerves.
"I was going to buy it, but then Wayne came over and I bought something unnecessary because I told him a friend of my mom's son needed baby powder."
Bowie grabbed the powder, nodding his head.
"That makes sense."
"And then I came back after lunch, and when I went to pay, it turned out the cashier was a friend of my mom's, and I ended up buying everything else."
He admitted, inwardly mortified, that he knew if Bowie had been in his shoes, he would have found a better solution.
Instead of hearing a mocking laugh, it was just one of those sweet laughs Bowie sometimes let out, and although Raj loved that, now it had him confused.
""I can't believe you bought all this!"
"I know, I ruined everything!"
He put his hands over his face, trying to hide it, but Bowie took his hands so he could see his flushed face.
"Of course not honey, don't say that."
"But I didn't buy what you asked for!"
"Well, of course not... but you bought other cool and silly things! You really don't have to worry about ruining things or not."
Then he kissed his lips for just a few seconds. Raj was able to relax a little about it and picked up the baby powder powder just to examine it.
"I mean, some things here are actually useful, the toothbrush for example. You really needed to replace the one you had."
Bowie encouraged him, making Raj laugh. He wouldn't argue with that, he clearly needed a new toothbrush. Curiously, he squeezed the baby powder powder, not noticing that it was apparently half open, causing all the white powder to hit his face.
Bowie laughed at him for that, he looked silly like that! It looked like a badly drawn meme, that definitely made more than one person laugh
In revenge, Raj turned the baby powder upside down, pointing it at Bowie and squeezing it hard, covering Bowie in powder as well. This took Bowie by surprise, and instead of being angry, he tried to get revenge on Raj for getting him so dirty.
They played with the baby powder for a while until they noticed that most of the people around them were covered in it. Only then did they stop throwing baby powder at each other's faces.
"I think we should clean."
Bowie nodded at what Raj said, and after dusting his face a little, he looked at Raj.
"After we clean, do you want to, like, watch watch a movie?"
"Definitely, as long as it's a good movie!"
