Mars hummed as he went through the halls of the mega pizzaplex, checking stuff that should be in place and stuff that are not in place. As he walked through one of the areas, he heard utensils clanking at the Kitchen, like something rummaging there.
Mars thought it would be an intruder, but what would an intruder be doing inside a kitchen? Maybe a staff bot, but staff bots are off-duty for right now. He sighed, having to deal with it himself.
Gently he opens the Kitchen's doors, speaking as he went inside, his head turned to the door to make sure it was closing.
" Hello? Sorry, but this place is off limi... "
Mars averted his gaze to the silhouette.
" ...Harvest? "
He blinked as he spoke.
" Mars. "
the short one spoke back his name, his swirling red and white eyes stared back to Mars' own eyes.
Mars blinked several times, why or, well, WHAT on earth is Harvest doing inside here?
" Uhm, Harvest, What exactly are you doing here? "
He tilted his head as he spoke, adjusting his glasses as his gaze averted to the tray Harvest was holding.
" I am trying to make Pigs in blankets. I ought to learn a new recipe. "
Harvest replied, looking at the tray in his hands. It was.. burnt.
" But i do not know how to properly cook these. "
Harvest muttered as a noise that familiar to a sigh emitted into his voice box.
Mars hummed, having a decision for himself, to either leave Harvest alone, or help. . .
" Chico is.. mostly the better one in cooking but... i suppose i could help. "
Mars fidgeted slightly, unsure why he had the urge to do so.
Harvest raised a brow.
" And why is that? You could've gotten Chico instead. "
He questioned, setting the tray down and crossing his arms.
" Well, Knowing Chico, he had probably gone out with Earth again, going out on a date. "
Mars answered, remembering that Chico did ask him where Earth had gone because it was something important.
Mars noticed that look Harvest had and the subtle eye twitch, his daze was suddenly interrupted by the voice of his.
" Fine. Well then, Let us get started. "
Mars stuttered but then helped on.
It took a few tries to actually have a decent one, the sausages were very much close to being finished so Mars kept that in mind for later restocking, Mars waited for it to bake in the oven, Harvest did aswell, his arms crossed as always.
The silence was quite deafening, Mars didn't really know when to start a conversation, especially when it was Harvest. But he does catch himself staring at Harvest sometimes.
Mars' gaze and deep in thought was quick to be finished as the oven dinged to alert that it was done baking in the oven. And Harvest also calling out to him.
" Mars. "
Harvest spoke up, the silence finally broke.
" I- Uh, Yes? "
Mars stuttered as he opened the oven to take out the tray that had pigs in blankets.
" What is up with you? You have been shooting glances at me and stare at me. Do you think i wouldn't have noticed? "
Harvest raised a brow as he looked up to the tall one and into his yellow eyes.
" You stare, then look away immediately when i get close to looking back at you, but it did not work. You are not very stealthy. "
" I-I .. Uhm... "
Mars stuttered, not really expecting to be caught and confronted.
" I.. I dont know, it's just... you're quite interesting, i suppose..? "
" Define interesting. "
Harvest kept his glare onto Mars, he grabbed one of the pieces of food on the tray and then took a bite.
Well, isn't this great? He fumbled already and Harvest wants him to fumble even more. this is embarrassing.
Mars sighed softly, quite obviously he wasn't escaping this conversation with a simple explanation, he looked away as he started to speak up for his answers.
" Well your... something i have never seen before, your eyes are different from the rest, and i most certainly haven't really seen anybody who'd have such a.. red scheme. "
Mars listed all he could find different to Harvest from the rest.
" Your desire for fighting is astonishing, and so is your strength.. And somewhat i just find staring at you.. interesting..? "
Mars fiddled with his hands slightly, unsure on how Harvest would react, slowly he turned his head over to meet Harvest's expression.
Harvest's expression was nonetheless the same, but his eyes were slightly widened, and was mid-way onto chewing onto the food source, it's clear that even when his expression doesn't say anything—he was surprised.
Mars didn't know why, but he felt his chest heat up about Harvest's expression.
" A-Anyways! What do you think about the pigs in blankets? Hope it could suffice your liking.. "
Mars tried to cover everything up by changing topics.
Harvest blink yet was quick to come back to his sense, coming back into chewing the food and glaring away.
Mars was left with silence for a few minutes, almost leading him to think he had gotten ignored.
" It is. . . Okay. "
Harvest admitted as he finished eating the first piece of the fine dish.
" It's enough to fill my liking. "
He kept it short and, quite simple, As he took another bite of the meal.
Mars sighed softly in relief, atleast this time it was much more decent than the last.
" I'm... glad you like it, Harvest.. Now I'll have to keep in mind to restock our sausages..."
Mars mumbled the last part, then he noticed Harvest handing out one of the dish to him, Mars blinked confusingly as he pointed to himself.
" F-For me? "
He titled his head as if though he was a cat.
" Take it, or leave it. I normally do not tend to share, but this is a reward for offering help. "
Harvest spoke up, still handing out the Pigs in Blankets out to Mars.
Mars smiled softly, appreciating the kindness of sharing and took it, eating it just like Harvest, yet he couldn't help but feel his cheeks heat up.
" I appreciate the kindness, Harvest. "
" Don't mention it. "
Harvest huffed as he chewed on his food. he would be lying if he were to say his cheeks weren't heating up aswell.
After a while of small talk between the two and Harvest finishing the dish up, they had parted ways, Harvest going back to the lab and Mars checking the list for Sausage restocking and went back to his room.
He sat on his couch, comfortably and sighed, looking back at the interaction he just had with Harvest. God, he fumbled really bad back there. Atleast it didn't end embarrassingly as every fumbled act he had done.
Mars began to question why his chest and his cheeks would be heating up as he talked with Harvest, questioning why he had the urge to help Harvest in the first place, Why he had stared or stealed glances to Harvest.
It was a very weird feeling, something he may had experienced before, but at the same time, it felt different.
Mars sighed in annoyance, Why now has his mind wandered about Harvest?
He stared up to the ceiling of his room, just trying to connect the dots on why.
With a blink he huffed again, Maybe playing dispatch could help ease his mind...
Did he like Harvest?
