Chapter Text

Park Seeun is beauty itself. The omega carries himself with a stature that male omegas envy when they catch sight of him. His features captivate without the need of alteration, and draw the attention of everyone around him.
Park Seeun is charming. He is a man who worked his way into the hearts of nine others under their noses. The time between their meeting and their hearts beating with love for the omega lost in a blink of an eye. People around the world are enraptured by Park Seeun, calling themselves fans and dedicating their time to praise him. Charming as his flirtations, is his humour; built on quick wits and well-timed responses.
Talented. Park Seeun is undeniably talented. He doesn’t perform the role of an idol, practicing the motions until they settle into muscle memory. No, he lives and breathes as an idol. He embraces every aspect, setting his sights on expanding the web of abilities. He’s no glass threatening to overflow, someone who can only do so much before stagnating. He’s an ever-expanding work of art, becoming a masterpiece as he threads in another day of hard work.
Most of all, Park Seeun knows what he is. He knows he’s beautiful and proud to flaunt his looks at every given opportunity. He knows he’s charming, knows how to utilize his charms to get just what he wants. Of course, he knows he’s talented. He’s the one to put in every ounce of work to reach this point in life. He’s faced the challenges, overcome the struggles.
And Minjae knows it too and he also knows that every day Seeun and preheat Seeun aren’t the same person.
Everyday Seeun is confident, someone who knows his worth. Preheat Seeun just isn’t that. He’s critical, overly so. Doubting his every move, acting as though he’s constantly made a mistake.
He’s off beat, a step too slow, a step too fast. His timing is off. If anything, he’s the only one to hit every step perfectly.
He shouldn’t have said that. It was rude. It was weird. It doesn’t make sense. It made the pack laugh harder than they had all week.
He doesn’t look good. This outfit makes him look too big. He looks disgusting. He’s blind to how Yujun looks seconds away from jumping him.
Is he mad? Seeun knew he shouldn’t have done that. He’s definitely upset. Hunter couldn’t feel more adoration for Seeun if someone tried to inject it into his veins.
Preheat Seeun is harsh and unfair. He tears into himself and peels back every layer so he can highlight the blemishes that don’t exist. And it’s devastating for the pack to watch it happen in real time.
The time on Minjae’s phone reads three in the morning in bold letters, and Seeun has yet to come into their room. The only thing on the omega’s bed is a poorly constructed nest: no structure, thin and lacking, the scents of the pack dulling. It’s nothing like what Seeun prefers. He likes his nest stacked high with several pillows and blankets that smell more like the pack than himself despite being the primary resident.
Bad vibes.
Minjae chuckles hollowly to himself, practically hearing Seeun’s voice when he thinks that.
He slips out of bed, officially given up on falling asleep and staying asleep. His wolf stirs, anxious with the knowledge that something is wrong with their mate (only a boyfriend still but hey, they’ll get there one day.)
Seeun startles when Minjae walks into the living room, locking his phone and eliminating the only light source in the room. The beta’s heart aches, eyes long adjusted to the dark to see Seeun’s silhouette sitting on the hard surface of the floor rather than entirely available space of the couch.
Minjae turns the lamp on, causing both of them to squint their eyes at the sudden light change. He sits across from the younger on the floor and really takes in the details.
Seeun is dressed in the same clothes he went to practice in, shoes kicked off, and greasy hairs peeking out from under his beanie. His shoulders curl into himself, knees tucked against his chest, and knuckles pale from how tight he grips his phone. His eyes refuse to look into Minjae’s.
Minjae tilts his head, leaning down so he can catch Seeun’s gaze.
“Hi.”
“Hey.” The omega sounds the way he looks: tired.
“It’s late.”
“I know.”
A few moments of silent.
“Whate'er you doing?” Minjae asks.
“Watchin’ stuff.”
Minjae hums in acknowledgment, sliding a hand to grab the edge of Seeun’s phone. The omega stiffens, eyes finally looking into the older’s, ans he holds on a fraction tighter. Minjae notices then that he can’t smell the other either, scent turned into a faint dull note of green plum that’s hardly there.
He runs a thumb along his knuckles, and they loosen, even if hesitantly so. Minjae knows all the keys to his boyfriends’ phones. The patterns, the pins, the passwords, the weird ass tapping thing Minjae’s still not sure how Junghoon got onto his phone. He blinks in surprise when he realizes he didn’t even need to type in Seeun’s password, his thumbprint going through.
Odd. He doesn’t remember adding his print.
The video restarts, music coming out faintly from the speakers. It’s a focus cam of Seeun. One, that Minjae can honestly say, has no obvious mistakes, if any. He looks so proud, full of energy and enjoying himself. One of Minjae’s personal favourites.
“You did good.” He praises, because he means it.
“It could have been better.”
Minjae’s eyebrow twitches, and he rewinds the video so he can look at Seeun’s smile again.
“Sure.” He decides. “We all could have been better, always will. But you can’t deny you have gotten better.”
The look Seeun gives him is indecipherable and he moves his head just enough for Minjae to see the scent patch on the younger. He wonders if that’s the same one from this morning.
He leans back and opens his arms wide. Seeun huffs, amused, “Aren’t I too big?”
Not the usual variation of aren’t you too small.
“No such thing.” Minjae scolds teasingly. “The bigger, the better. Means more Seeunie for me.”
Seeun rolls his eyes, but his features soften, the edges of his lips twitching up. Minjae pats his lap. The omega moves to straddles the beta’s hips, hovering awkwardly like they haven’t does this countless times. Minjae wraps his arms around the younger’s waist, yanking him down to sit entirely in his lap.
Seeun huffs, caught off but the sudden movement, but melts into the comfort, slumping against Minjae.
“My Seeunie’s so pretty.” Minjae coos, nuzzling into the other’s jaw. “Pretty face. Pretty smile. Pretty laugh. Pretty everything. So, so pretty.”
Seeun giggles, pushing against his face with a whine, “Stop.”
Minjae takes Seeun’s face into his hands and scrunches it up, “But my baby omega is so pretty.”
“You’re exaggerating.” Seeun says with squished cheeks.
“No.” Minjae knocks their heads together with a big grin. “Seeun is the beautifulest.”
Seeun snorts, falling into Minjae’s shoulder as he shakes with laughter.
“That’s not even a word!”
Minjae beams with pride, sneaking his hand to peel the scent patch off the younger’s neck. The sweet smell of green plum explodes (a patch from this morning then) and fills the room. Seeun’s giggles die down, and a purr begins to take its place, his hands kneading into the muscle of the older’s back.
“I love you.” Minjae whispers against Seeun’s ear.
The purring grows a fraction louder, “I love you too.”
Seeun’s breathing eventually steadies out, and produces soft snores. And, maybe, Minjae should have woken him up and dragged him to bed, but sometimes, a guy just has to fall asleep on the living room floor with his boyfriend using him like a body pillow.
And really, really hope someone with an ounce of sanity finds them and doesn’t kick him awake.
Or put a pillow on his face.
Again.
