“Oh, god!” a young, five-foot-eight, male alpaca exclaimed. “I’ve got to get far, far away!”
The alpaca was running down one of the corridors in the school hallway one late evening. No one else was around.
The alpaca was holding his arm, which was bleeding from his shoulder a lot! He looked down at his arm and began to cry. “Oh, my arm! My poor, poor arm!”
“Tem!” a loud, low, male voice called out from behind. “Don’t run! Come back!”
The alpaca looked back and gasped. “Oh, god! That bear is still on my tail! I have to hurry!” He looked forward and started running a bit faster.
Not long after that, the alpaca saw a lecture room up ahead. “Wait, I know! I’ll run in there and bar the doors! That ought to keep him away!” He hurried to the room and closed the doors. “Okay, now to find something to bar the doors with!” He looked around and saw a cane lying on the floor nearby. “Oh! I can use that!” He ran over to the cane, picked it up, and quickly put it through the door handles. “All right! That should keep him away…I hope!”
A few moments later, there was loud banging on the doors, which made the alpaca jump!
“Gah!” the alpaca uttered.
On the other side of the doors was a large, muscular, six-foot-ten, grizzly bear.
“Tem!” the bear shouted, banging on the door again. “Open up!”
“N-No, Riz!” Tem replied, taking a few steps back. “D-Don’t come in!”
Riz stopped banging on the door and frowned. “Tem, please! Let me in!”
Tem shook his head furiously. “No! I won’t! J-Just stay out there!”
Riz put his hands on the door. “Please, Tem! I’m begging you! Don’t shut me out!”
Tem covered his face with his hands. “L-Leave me alone! Please!”
“Tem, don’t be like that! I’m not going to hurt you!”
“You already hurt me, Riz! You tore my arm!”
“But that was an accident! It won’t happen again!”
Tem shook his head again. “N-No! I’m not t-taking any chances! You s-stopped taking your meds! Now you’re too d-dangerous to be around!”
“But Tem! I never meant for this to happen! I stopped taking my meds because I…I only wanted you to see the real me! I wanted you to see how I looked without the pills!”
“Well, i-if that’s the real you, then I want n-no part of it! Now go away!”
“But Tem!”
“Just g-go away! Go away and leave me alone!”
Riz clasped his hands together. “Tem, please! Don’t do this!”
“I mean it, Riz! Stay far, far away from me and never talk to me again! Ever!”
Riz’s ears drooped. “T-Tem… How can you say that to me? I thought we were friends!”
Tem sighed. “I’m sorry, but…I don’t want to be your friend anymore!”
Riz gasped, his ears perking up. “T-Tem!”
“Now for the last time, go away!”
Tears started flowing down Riz’s face. "Tem..." Then, he got angry. “No! I won’t leave!”
Tem’s ears perked up. “What?”
“I’m gonna get in there, Tem, whether you want me to or not! I’ll destroy these damn doors if I have to!”
Tem gasped. “N-No!”
Riz began banging on the door with even more force!
Tem put his hands on his head. Noooo! He’s gonna knock down the door! I’ve got to stop him! He ran up to the door, put his back against it, and put as much of his weight as he could against the door. “S-Stop, Riz!”
“No!” Riz bellowed, still banging on the door.
“Agh! Please stop!”
Riz kept speaking in between bangs on the door. “I said…” Bang! “...no, Tem!” Bang!
As did Tem. “You shouldn’t…” Bang! “...mess up…” Bang! “...the doors!” Bang! “They’re…” Bang! “...school property!” Bang!
“I don’t…” Bang! “...give a damn…” Bang! “...Tem!” Bang!
“Riz, stop!” Bang! “Please!” Bang! “You’re out of…” Bang! “...control!” Bang!
“No, I’m just…” Bang! “...upset and angry…” Bang! “...because my own best friend…” Bang! “...won’t let me in!” Bang!
“B-Because you’re…” Bang! “...scaring me!” Bang!
“But we’re friends…” Bang! “...Tem!” Bang! “We stick…” Bang! “...together…” Bang! “...until the end!” Bang!
“Not…” Bang! “...this time…” Bang! “...Riz!” Bang! “You’ve…” Bang! “...got to…” Bang! “...let me go!” Bang!
Riz scowled more intensely. “Like hell…” Bang! “...I will!” Bang! “I’ll never…” Bang! “...let you go!” Bang!
Tem was sweating from his forehead a lot. He scowled. “You’re…” Bang! “...crazy, Riz!” Bang!
“How dare…” Bang! “...you call…” Bang! “...me that!” Bang! “Now for…” Bang! “...the last time!” Bang! “Open!” Bang! “The!” Bang! “Doors!” Bang!
“And for the…” Bang! “...last time…” Bang! “I!” Bang! “Will!” Bang! “Not!” Bang!
“Do it now!” Bang!
“No!” Bang!
“Now!” Bang!
“No!” Bang!
“I said now!” Bang!
“And I said no!” Bang!
Riz stopped banging on the door and growled loudly. “All right, that tears it! You’ve gotten on my last nerve, Tem! I didn’t want to do this, but you left me no choice!” He started walking away from the door.
Tem blinked. Wh-What? He stopped banging on the doors?
When Riz was a fair distance away from the door, he stopped walking and turned around. Then, he began to run right at the door, shoulder first!
But…he said I was gonna pay! Tem thought. Wh-What could he mean by that–-
The doors were suddenly forced open! The cane barring the doors snapped clean in half!
Tem was sent flying forward! “Gah!” he uttered. He flew towards the stairs and then tumbled down them! He cried out in pain on the way down! He rolled to a stop after traversing the stairs. Now, he was lying on his side, covered in several bruises! “Owwww…”
Riz was standing at the entrance, an angry look on his face. “You…”
Tem gasped upon seeing Riz at the entrance. “N-No! He’s here!”
With a slow but menacing gait, Riz started making his way down the stairs, not taking his eyes off Tem for a second.
Tem started shaking all over. “Oh, Rex! He’s coming!” He sat up and began to back away quickly.
Riz soon finished descending the stairs. Then, he continued making his way towards Tem.
Tem was still scrambling away from Riz. “Oh, god! He’s not stopping!” He then hit his back against a wall. “Ack!” He turned to face the wall in shock. “N-No! There’s nowhere left for me to go!” He looked back at Riz. “And Riz is still coming for me! I’m so screwed!”
Riz still had anger plastered all over his face. He was even growling at this point!
Tem leaned back against the wall and put a hand up. “S-Stay away, Riz! D-Don’t come any closer!”
Riz ignored him.
Tem started sweating bullets. “R-Riz, no! S-Stop! Please!”
Riz still wasn’t listening.
Tem was shaking like a leaf. “No, Riz! D-Don’t do this! I’m begging you!”
Riz stopped when he was a few feet away from Tem. His massive body cast a large shadow over Tem!
R-Rex, he’s huge from down here! Tem thought.
“Finally!” Riz said, a strong growl to his voice. He pointed at Tem. “I’ve got you right where I want you, Tem!”
Oh, god! Tem thought. Wh-What’s he gonna do to me? Is he…gonna kill me? Oh, Rex! I bet he’s gonna kill me! But why, Riz? Why would you do this? Why would you hurt your own best friend?
Riz wasn’t saying anything. He was still glaring right at Tem.
Is this…where I die!? N-No! This can’t be how my story ends! It just can’t! Not like this! There were still so many things I wanted to do!
Riz started to growl again. Then, he drew back the claws on his right hand!
Tem gasped. Oh, no! He’s gonna claw me!
Riz began to move his hand towards Tem’s face!
Tem closed his eyes. Here it comes!
