Chapter Text
The cold winter air lapped at Dazai’s ankles, and the cold sand stung the bottom of her feet. The beach wasn’t where you would find most people on the thirteenth of December, except Dazai, that is.
She brought the ringing phone up to her ear, a soft smile returning to her lips, because she already knew who was on the other end of the line.
Hi, my dear.” She spoke softly into the phone
“Hi, Dazai.”
Dazai sat down in the sand, the bottom of her legs tingled slightly.
“What’s going on, Chuuya?” She asked.
“I just wanted to call you and remind you that our mission starts tomorrow, 7:30 AM.” She responded.
“I know, Chuuya. Did you really think I was going to forget?” Dazai asked, teasingly.
“I just wanted to tell you.. I’m going to miss you.” She whispered, into the phone.
“It’s only a day, my girl.” Dazai responded, bittersweetly.
“I know. I just wanted to tell you.” She sighed.
“Okay. I’ll miss you too.” Dazai replied.
The line disconnected, and Dazai stood back up, brushing the sand off the back of her legs. Tomorrow was going to be a long day, for both her and Chuuya.
