My God, my universe

Summary:

Graduation day, final date during school, and a proposal?!

Notes:

Hi!!!!! Sorry for not posting for so long! I was studying for exams. This was for Valentines Day but OwO.

Chapter 1: I love you so…

Chapter Text

“Dear students, I am proud to announce that all of you have graduated from Night Raven College, earning yourself a job well done! You may now toss your hats!”

A sea of black engulfed the room as the hats all flew up and came crashing down.

“Yeah! Let’s go!”

“Finally, it’s over!”

“We’re free!”

“Woohoo!!! Didja hear that, Goldfishie? We’re out of this shitty hellhole!!!”

“Mind your language, Floyd. Happy that we’re both finally out, right?”

“OF COURSE, GOLDFISHIEEEEEEE!!! WE’RE DONE WITH THIS BS! Anyway, do ya wanna go out later? I’m free the entire afternoon!”

“Mmm… I still need to… Don’t look at me like that!”

Floyd’s eyes shone like glimmering diamonds, tears on the verge of slipping out. With such big puppy eyes, who could ever resist?

“You know I can’t… Ugh! Fine… I’ll go with you.”

“Yay!!! Let’s go!!!”

“Don’t we have to change first?!”

“Let’s let everyone know we’re from NRC! They’ll be so happy for such a cute couple like us!”

Grabbing the housewarden’s hand, Floyd happily sauntered out the room with Riddle in tow.

“H-hey! Quit dragging me around! I can walk by myself, perfectly fine!”

“Really, Goldfishie? Even after yesterday’s passionate affair?”

With a hand directly slapped onto his mouth, Floyd could no longer speak.

“Shut up, will you?!”

A snaking tongue slithered along the palm holding his words shut. A gentle kiss planted at the palm of his hand was all it took for a flustered Riddle to pull his hand back.

“Yes, your majesty.” (I love obedience references!!!)

“You know, you’re becoming more like my dorm mates. Gentlemanly as you should be, yet keeping that signature vexing part of you. Not saying that that’s bad or anything. If anything, it makes you much more endearing.”

“Awwwwww, Goldfishie!! That’s so sweet! And is that a little blush I see?! You can’t get any cuter, Kingyo-chan!!”

Before long, the couple was smothering the other in kisses.

“Hey, should we stop them?” Yuu nervously asked.

“Let them have their moment. My dear brother’s mate probably can’t take it anymore. Look. He’s about to drown like a goldfish on land.”

When Yuu saw that creeping grin on Jade’s face, a shiver went down their spine.

“We’re definitely stopping them.”

A minute later, only a Yuu reddened with a couple slaps on the face was left. The oh so lovey dovey couple were still at it, a show of public affection enamouring the crowd gathering around.

“This chapters’ is PG-13, guys! I can see you!! Find a room or something!!!” Jamil sighed, head resting in his hand, with the other covering Kalim’s eyes. The duo walked away, only hoping for the best for the graduating housewarden.

—————————————————————————————————————

A few more kisses and a while later, the two were finally done with their romantic show. Puffy lips and teary eyes were the norm for them. After all, this wasn’t their first rodeo.

Now walking through the bustling streets of Sage Island, the couple came across the dessert shop that the students of Heartslabyul were excitedly chattering about during their break. It seemed that Riddle had remembered that little moment, as he dragged Floyd into the oddly quiet shop.

“Hmm… That’s odd. Why’s it so quiet? Isn’t this a world class pâtisserie?”

“Surprise surprise, Goldfishie! I booked out the entire shop for ya! Pick anything you like, it’s all on me!”

“Was this a date idea Jade gave you? Or Azul?”

“Nope! It was thought out by yours truly! Out of the kindness of my benevolent soul, I decided that this entire date is on me! I’ve had enough of splitting the bill.”

“That’s… so sweet! Thank you, Floyd!”

A happy wife is a happy life. After all, it’s much cuter for a happy goldfish than an angry puffy one! But it has its own charm too!

Riddle bounced happily around, and quickly picked the huge strawberry tart that he was eyeing since they went in.

Hehehehehe… It'll be so cute if he jumps like that everyday when he sees me and hugs me to sleep!!!

Riddle didn’t even want to think about what was going on in the endless sea in Floyd’s eyes. But he did want Floyd to keep to his promise.

“I’m done choosing. A strawberry tart is more than enough. Thank you for this wonderful gift!”

“YAYY!!! I’m glad you’re happy!”

“Gimme 10 macarons as well as another 6 scones will ya? Wrap that up for me, thanks.”

But isn’t that a lot?”

“It’s ok, Goldfishie!”

A slight nod and a smile, before he eagerly grabbed his love’s shoulder, turning the both of them out of the store.

“Wait, what about the-”

“The food? You’ll see it soon. Come on now, it’ll be an amazing day!”

Leading the smaller to a candle shop, the scent wafted through the air, a hint of roses underneath the bombarding scents all around.

“Which scent do you like the most, Goldfishie? Is it the rosey floral scent? Or maybe something sweeter, like the cotton candy? My personal favourite is the ocean salt scent! It smells just like home!”

“Well… I want your favourite. One ocean salt scent please!”

“Are you sure? Not the rosey floral one?”

“Definitely. This relationship isn’t just about me. The things I pick should have your favourites included too!”

Goldfishieeeeeeeee… I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!

A giggle, and then a full on maniacal laughter episode. Something Riddle should have expected once those words came out of his lips.

“Let’s go quickly! People are staring!”

A flustered little goldfish ran out of the store with his idiotly smiling eel grinning happily at his work.

Another nod and this part was complete.

Finally stopping at a bench, Riddle sat down, panting as if he was about to die. A still smiling eel was staring directly at such an adorable sight!

Oh how he wished to squeeze him so tight that his heart stopped beating! But that would only earn him a trip to the gallows and a regretful heart.

“Let’s have a break here, shall we?”

“That- That would be an amazing idea.”

A minute, then five, and ten.

“Goldfisieeeeee, are you done? We have places to be ya know?”

“Mmm… ok. Let’s go.”

Grabbing the hand reaching out to the other, Floyd instinctively pulled and ran to the clocktower towering over the island.

“Hurry! It’s almost time for my reservation!”

“To where?!”

“You’ll find out later.”

—————————————————————————————————————

Running like their lives depended on it, they finally reached the Sage Island Clocktower. A tourist attraction like no other, yet completely still.

“Hehe… I rented out the clocktower for a while. Let’s go see the entire island from here!”

“W-what?! Isn’t this incredibly expensive?! A mere hour in this clocktower is 50 grand! That’s the amount of prize money for the SDC!”

“Goldfishie… I have the money. You needn’t worry! Anyway, let’s have fun!”

Leading the redhead into the tower and up the winding staircase, the end was not near. At all.

“We have to climb up 50 stories to reach the top?! I’m not going to make it!!!”

“We’ve only gone 3 levels. But if my goldfish insists, I suppose we could use the lift.”

“THERE’S A LIFT?!? WHY DIDN’T YOU SAY SO?!”

“The time we were going to spend walking up those stairs so that we could chat and get some quality time. And exercise, but we have plenty of that.”

A sigh rang throughout the never ending tower. “I have nothing to say. But let’s get onto the lift, shall we?”

A quiet lift ride made the silence deafening. Even a pin dropped from Riddle’s height would make a sound.

“So… what did you want to talk about? Was it about this entire frantic day?”

“I can’t tell ya more about the plans, but I wanted to get to know you even better. Not just physically, but mentally too.”

“So, what do you want to know?”

“Where’s your dad? Why are ya only relying on your mum? Plus, isn’t she some helicopter parent that you can’t even say no to? So why?”

“Ah.” Riddle knew, since the moment they first started dating, that one night, that the moment of truth would be revealed. A ghastly pale veil enshrouded his face, yet a little voice whispered, “This secret is safe with our mate. He’ll never leave, so it’ll be fine.” Listening to that small voice, Riddle opened his mouth, and words started pouring out.

“My parents are divorced. I remember my mother telling me that my father was a terrible man. An accomplished, but horrible person. He abandoned his wife and child, which was me, and left with another woman. So, they got divorced. At least, that’s what my mother told me. I’m not very sure about the entire situation, but I was raised by my mother only.”

“Oh. Oh. Goldfishie, you don’t have to cry. Stop-stop crying!”

The tears that usually shimmered with happiness glittered like a rose in a gilded cage. Those pretty tears were what Floyd usually enjoyed seeing, but this time, it was ugly. So very ugly.

A warm hug, a cooling embrace. Those long arms wrapped around the smaller, his face hidden in the crook of the other’s neck.

“Guess we can finally see eye to eye, no?”

“That isn’t funny, Floyd! But thanks for bending down.”

A loud ding told them that it was time for the depressing and sad part to be over!

Walking hand in hand into the rooftop before them, the sight of the entire island was a sight to behold. However, the only thing that caught Floyd’s attention despite the beautiful view was his gorgeous mate.

From the well-trimmed crimson hair to the ever elegant uniform, even to the shine of his leather boots. His entire being was absolutely beautiful. (Aahhhh my references!)

How I wish that I could be the one to break him, tear him apart, and rebuild him from the ashes. A Riddle, made entirely by me and for me, but that would never be the Riddle I know and love. The only Riddle I choose to love is the one he builds himself. No one else. Not now, and never.

“Let’s go see the skyline. It’s almost 3, let’s set up first.”

“Set up what?”

“A picnic, of course!”

“Wha- huh? Where’s everything we need?”

“I prepped it all!”

“Ahh!”

Riddle found himself being led by Floyd to a secluded corner of the clocktower, where there was a small picnic basket, along with a checkered picnic mat, and a few small candles to the side.

“Come on!”

Such a happy, gleeful smile shone through those jagged teeth. Similar to a piece of glass, Floyd was shining and stunning in the midday light.

Taking their time to slowly lay out the mat, the food and lighting the candles, such a quiet moment before who knows what would happen was calming to the smaller’s nerves.

It’s so quiet. Floyd doesn’t feel like his usual self… I wonder what he’s planning? He keeps dragging me around the entire island. Could it be a birthday surprise? Probably not… It's still a few months away. Is he… BREAKING UP WITH ME?!

An audible gasp escaped his mouth as he hurriedly covered it. Wide open eyes stared straight back to the other in pure shock.

“Goldfishie? Anything surprising?”

“No… no. Nothing at all. Merely a bird I saw.”

“Mmm… ok. But anyways, we’re done setting up! Come sit down with me!”

Patting the area beside him, Floyd smiles gleefully, like a child who couldn’t wait to open a Christmas present.

“There’s many things I love about you, like your eyes that shine and dazzle, soft lips that get me frazzled, the lovely way you smile! But…”

“But you want to break up with me as I’m too stuck up? Like a pretty queen on her high throne? Because I’m too much?”

“NOOOOO?!! GOLDFISHIE WERE’D YOU GET THAT FROM???”

“Uh… cuz you were so rushy, did many things unlike you today like not squeezing me and maybe wanted the last day with me to be nice before breaking my heart?”

“But Kingyo-chan, I’m always nice to ya! Why would I want to break my mates’ heart?! I can’t believe you thought so lowly of me! And plus, I squeeze people I don’t like, not those I love! Wait actually I’m not so sure.”

“Maybe you wanted to push me off the rooftop so I’ll die and you can get a new mate? I’m not very sure where that came from. I was jumping to conclusions. S-sor…”

“Sorry? YA SORRY?” Pressing his head into his hands,a small sigh came out before words of apology were mumbled out. “I’m sorry for losing my temper. And also that I was acting off today. I just had a surprise for you. But let’s soften the mood first, k?”

Grabbing a knife and slicing the strawberry tart, a piece was shoved into Riddle’s mouth before any words of refusal came out.

Right before the last of the strawberry tart was finished, a kiss came from nowhere and planted itself on Riddle’s lips.

“Mmm, sweet! Just like you when you’re in a good mood! Awww! Ya still gett’n all flustered! Just like the old days!”

A warm shade of red bloomed on Riddle’s face. This sight was something that Floyd would never give up.

“Ope! The tarts are almost all finished! Thank the Sevens, I bought extra snacks!”

“Thank you. I-i love you.” The last words were barely louder than a whisper. Looking down onto the ground before him, such words were not easily heard.

“I LOVE YOU TOO, RIDDLE!!! I love ya till the ends of the earth, from here all the way to the moon! I love ya as much as you love your strawberry tarts!”

“Ding… ding… ding…” The loud chiming coming from the bells signaled the chiming of the end of this relationship and the arrival of something new.

Turning his head and smiling, a small gift was waiting in his hands to be presented to its new owner.

“Riddle, you know I love you. And I want to know that you love me too. I promise to be there for you, through the sun and rain, through the seas and storms and to be the best I can be. So, will you, my ethereal queen, marry me? I know I’m not very deserving-”

“Y-yes! Yes! Yes! I will be your lawfully wedded spouse.”

“YAY!!! GOLDFISHIE ACCEPTED! Now we’re engaged!! Your hand, your majesty.”

Sticking out his left hand, a delicate rose-red ruby ring was placed onto the bare finger, marking his hand with the seal of an engagement.

The ring shone in the midday light, and when the sun hit just right, it shimmered with a bright elegance, befitting a queen like Riddle.

“How’d you get my ring size? It really is a wonder that I can’t help but to ask.”

“When ya sleeping in my dorm, I took a measuring tape. Y’r a really deep sleeper ya know?”

“That… answers my question.”

“Anyway, let’s get to the good part!”

Leaning forward and staring straight into Riddle’s soul before planting many light pecks on his face, the last kiss was left on Riddle’s lips.

Trying to push the tip of his tongue into Riddle’s mouth, it waited patiently for an answer. Once a slight opening came, a tilt to the head was all it took before Floyd’s tongue came to taste what now belonged to him.

The sweet taste of the pastries was lingering in his mouth, along with the hints of lemon tea, and maybe two sugar cubes. Tracing over every tooth, both tongues dancing in delight, Floyd would definitely burn this scene into his memory.

Tears welling up in Riddle’s eyes, with each moment passing that his windows grew hazier. He looked unreal. The wind caressing his features, the light shining just enough to make his glow. Nothing could get better than this!

Soon, he felt two hands on his chest, pushing the eel away from him. Crouching down and panting like a fish returned to water, a sharp gaze locked eyes with the other, and a few cold words rang out.

“We are not doing this again.”

“Why not, Goldfishie? It was good!”

“You are trying to kill me! I don’t have the lung capacity for this!!! Please bear that in mind if you are to do this again!”

“Fine… I promise not to kill you while kissing you. But can we go another round?”

“Not now. We have other things to take care of. Something that everyone would happily see.”

—————————————————————————————————————

“Ding!” The bright message popped up on Cater’s screen.

“Hey, Trey! Riddle posted something on his magicam! Whatd’ya think he posted?”

“Maybe a graduation pic? It’s his graduation day after all.”

“Maybe, let’s AHHHHH!!”

“What's got you so, HRRK?!”

“Trey. Trey. Our little housewardens’ grown up! He’s engaged!!!”

“What a stunning ruby ring. Floyd really did go all out.”

“Where’s my ring, hmm?”

“Soon. Maybe later. I’ll see about it.”

“Wait, question. Are they even legal yet? Like 21?”

“That’s… Actually a good question. But let’s congratulate them first.”

The two were slightly worried for their little housewarden, but life still went on.

“I wonder when’s the wedding. Do you think we’re invited? Cuz if we aren’t Imma go X-X.”

“Don’t worry, we’ll definitely be invited. After all, I was his vice housewarden and his childhood friend.”

“Should you bring cookies and maybe a strawberry tart to their wedding?”

“It’s Riddle’s wedding. His wedding cake is probably a strawberry tart.”

“But maybe I’ll take you up on those cookies. Yours are delicious.”

“But of course! I’m literally a pâtisserie shop owner. It’s in my job description.”

“Hehe. I was just stating the obvious.”

A kiss landed on Cater’s cheek, and the other’s burned with a hot crimson.

“And this is why you can’t propose first. OwO, you may have to be the one in the white dress! Hehe!”

—————————————————————————————————————

Now walking back to the Mirror, the couple walked hand in hand along the now silent streets of Sage Island.

“This view will be dearly missed. I’ll remember when Trey and Cater both dragged me down to the barbershop to get my hair trimmed instead of me doing it myself.”

“How bout memories with me, Goldfishie?”

“Maybe the time when you put the book I needed at the very top shelf to inconvenience me and try to make me rely on you?”

“THAT’S THE ONLY THING YA REMEMBER?! I did so much more than that…”

Now looking at a pouty eel, Riddle couldn’t help but grin a bit to himself. He was finally getting his revenge on this annoying eel who plagued him with troubles.

Reaching the mirror, Riddle opened and closed his mouth again. Slowly, the words began flowing out.

“May I… stay with you? At least until tomorrow? I… don’t want this to end so fast.”

“YES!! Mah family would be more than happy to have ya! Let’s go!”

“Ok. Thank you for having me!”

Stepping into the mirror, without even a glance back, a new day would finally come and they would never see this place again.

—————————————————————————————————————

Epilogue!!

Lying down on Floyd’s actual bed was like a fever dream. But Riddle accepted this anyway. With a heavy eel on his back, a scowl started to show on his face. An ever curious eel started to ask questions.

“Goldfishie! What’d they say?”

“Cater commented, ‘such a cute couple! my baby’s all grown up now! #marriagegoals! And #loveydovey”

“Anything else?”

“Rook also said, ‘Merveilloux!’ And Vil also asked when the wedding was.”

“How many likes didja get?”

“150. Is that good?”

“Ya having a private account right? That’s probably everyone you let in. A huge success! As expected of my Goldfishie!”

A chuckle escaped from Riddle’s lips, and a genuine smile stayed plastered on his face. What a cute Goldfishie I have! I couldn’t ask for anything more!

“I can’t wait.”

Once those words were spoken, Riddle’s phone was snatched out of his hands and put gently on the table, while his body was flipped around on the bed, now lying underneath Floyd.

“Are you going again today? We did it yesterday too.”

“Enjoy the pleasure first, and we can worry about the consequences later. I’m financially and mentally ready for a kid, so… uh… I guess whenever ya ready?”

“Eep!” Riddle’s two cowlicks stood up on both ends, like a belt ready to strike. “No way I’m having kids this young! I’m not ready for one yet!”

Placing a hand and softly fondling on Floyd’s face, Riddle smiled and murmured, “My God, my universe. You’re mine.”

“Of course, my dear clematis! But for now…”

Pushing both of Riddle’s hands above his head, a laid out Riddle was spread out like a feast, ready for Floyd’s eating.

“Let’s go now!”

(No smut. Deal with it.)

Oh my Clematis, blooming flower in this abyss. Oh my Clematis, can we stay together like this?

The end.
