The ringing sound of a phone call could be heard.
Wifies, a high schooler- who originally was asleep- rubbed his eye a few times before he picked up the phone. In the process; he shifted around in his bed, the phone still ringing. With a sigh of defeat, he kicked off the blanket that once draped over his unconscious body earlier, then snatched the phone up from the desk that he placed next to his bed.
He stretched out an arm and ascended his phone up to press against his ear. The phone that once glowed through the room went dark as he allowed himself to hark upon the other individual person speak from another device. Once the other person stopped speaking inaudible noises that the chocolate brown-haired one could barely make out, he grumbled, “ Derapchu- what do you need? ” Questioned he, continuing, “ It's bound to be 1 am. ”
This was a strange predicament to say the least, what did this guy need at midnight- and on a school night?
Derapchu; the man that called Wifies in the first place, continued whispering angrily against the speaker of his phone. “ Were you not listening bro? I just asked if we could meet up. Yes, I know you need your beauty sleep- or whatever, but bro, I need this right now. ”
Wifies was surprised by the vulrenablility that hinted within the other man's voice, something probably happened back home- considering that it sounded like Derapchu was outside, taking a walk; as Wifies could presume from the crunching of grass under the other man's feet. He felt himself calm down in return of the vulrenablility, as if he just suddenly got the hint whereas he shouldn't stay frustrated over some sleep for Derapchu,
However there was still a problem, his parents would be wondering over where his son could've gotten away at 1 in the morning; for Wifies, it felt as if it was a sin to have disobey such rules at a young age to his parents. But when it came to Derapchu; he couldn't help but feel his heart soften at his vulrenablility, or him in general. He'd lose the world for this man- and he isn't one to be afraid to admit such.
It felt oddly strange, the situation. But he couldn't help his heart fluttering-and beating out of his chest- he couldn't help this once small crush that he thought would be temporary; allow itself to bloom, allow it's sharp petals to stab against Wifies'(s) skin and allow him to jolt in a specific pain he couldn't get enough of. He couldn't help but allow himself to diverge this far significantly out of his original motives and allow his mind to get back to square one the moment Derapchu was mentioned.
He couldn't help it; but find himself to speak in a specific kind of uncertainty- but yet determination.
“ Where do you wanna meet up? ”
Now, Wifies wasn't a man who got introuble with his parents, thank you very much. He'd rather not get scolded by his parents endlessly since it irritated him; however what more could he do when it was Derapchu? Of course, as he had decided once earlier; he couldn't help himself but feel alleviated the more he tried to run away from such feelings - just for him to walk back into the comforts of said emotions and embrace it.
He knew he'd probably get grounded, or some worser punishment that would feel like utter torture (he could simply just go along with it instead of protesting, however if it had to be a punishment that went against him and Derapchu? What a strange prediction.) - So, for him to get away with such; he'd had to be as quiet as a mouse and silence his tongue from any helps or silence his footing from pressing against a certain floorboard too hard from creaking.
Wifies knew he couldn't get out of the window as simple as the movies said it would've been, for there was no trees; and finding a ladder at this dark time? Outrageous, but considerable.
So; with all considerable exits from his house lost, he opted for the front door. All he had to do is to be careful with the creaks, and then he'd be set. So - once he wore his signature grey jacket with the yin-yang symbol and his violet bandanna tightened under his mess of a hair; Wifies turned on his flashlight on his phone as he practically tip-toed around the staircase - avoiding the floorboards with the loudest creaking sounds, then tried to fasten his pace when he saw he was closer to the door.
Realizing that his parents might've seen the light, he quickly turned off his flashlight from his phone then swung open the door as quickly as he could, though not before he slipped on his crocs. He tried his best to slowly close the door- enough to not make a loud creaking sound descend from it, only to be met with a slight sound he flinched at, but quiet enough to not be heard from his parents' room (only he would know, atleast).
Wifies felt the sudden jolt of happiness rush through him; the feeling of excitement with the only dwelling fear of trouble from his parents. He felt a smirk crawl onto his lips as he huffed, before he twisted on his ankle and turned away from the door- and in under a second he was sprinting to his destinated meet-up place. The starry night gloomed over him- he never felt as alive as he did currently.
He found himself stopping infront of a bundle of trees- he knew where this covered. A well-hidden cemetery that only him and Derapchu had an idea of where it was, they both found it one day at spring, on one of their hangouts after school. Derapchu was walking backwards just so he could face Wifies- arms folded and rested at the behind of his head. The blue-hooded one wasn't quite checking where he was heading, and instead of his attempt to fascinate Wifies; he fell down through the in-between of the trees.
The violet-bandanna one couldn't help, but snicker. He covered his mouth, pressing his palm further against his lips as his snickers slowly turned into loud chuckles. Wifies didn't quite see, but Derapchu chuckled along as well; a red hue playing on both cheeks. Perhaps out of embarassment?
Once Wifies helped Derapchu up with a simple helpful hand, he paid attention to the scenery behind the blue-hooded one. With a quiet hum and a tilt of his curious head, he pointed out the cemetery behind Derapchu - then once the other man was the sight that was just behind him, would mesmerised be the exact words?
The blue-hooded one's eyes lit up, Wifies couldn't help but stare at the sight in-front of him. He allowed himself to walk forward until he was just beside Derapchu, with a hum and a nudge from his shoulder to Derapchu, he smiled softly at him. Derapchu's lips curled in a smile, they looked quite chapped yet plump. Wifies wondered if someone ever pressed their lips against his, he wonders what the experience would be like.
Wifies didn't notice, however Derapchu placed his hand against Wifies' and ran towards the cemetery - brushing against the trees that hid away such a sight. The cemetery had signs of moss around the carved rocks- dust covering the etched names and bouquets that seemed used to be healthy- before it was covered in moss. But that is only an assumption that Wifies took upon.
Derapchu smiled, the sun's golden rays just glazing over his face, that was when Wifies noticed the sudden closure that Derapchu had brought upon both of them, and he couldn't be anymore than happier. And by that day; the cemetery was their usual meeting place, Wifies should've expected Derapchu to pick this specific spot once again, 'cause what else is there to expect?
So, Wifies ran through the park- diverging from the path once he reached somewhere in the middle, then into the bundle of trees that make it look as if it was a dark forest from other people's perspective if they even dared to inch closer towards the pavement that hinted towards it. Other than the terrifying sight from outside the trees, he saw the subtle lantern lights within, and just knew that Derapchu was oddly earlier than he'd expect.
It was strange- he found his mind fumbling back to the original question he had earlier when he woke up from the ringing of the phone call- Why did Derapchu need him at midnight? Wifies took a quick glance at his phone that he just opened by a simple press of the button as he looked at the time. 1:37. To that - in response, Wifies simply hushed out a quick " I should've come here earlier. ", knowing that it was simply impossible, but how by how many seconds did Derapchu had to count? How many years did it feel like for him- to dread for just his friend to come?
He brushed through the bark of the trees as quickly as he could- feeling some of the dirt that came from the wood place themselves onto his sleeves, but he couldn't care at that moment, he can just brush them off once he reached Derapchu.
Wifie's foot crushed against autumn leaves as he reached the graves, usually he'd feel some sort of satisfaction from the crunch- however he was far too concerned about his blue-hooded friend. His eyes lit up happily as he saw his friend sitting on one of the graves with his hand around the handle of a lantern. Derapchu nearly swung the light-source for the fact he stood up too fast.
Wifies couldn't help but feel captivated by how the light hit Derapchu's heterochromia eyes, one blue and one brown. The way his expression turned surprised, yet relieved from his own arrival - from his own presence, it felt so simple, too simple.
If Wifies could just live a simple life with Derapchu, perhaps maybe with a two-story house or a small apartment with one bed that they both share. It would be perfect, at least for Wifies himself- he couldn't help but feel selfish when it came to Derapchu, he felt as if he wanted to keep his friend all to himself- maybe propose to him and kiss him on the lips or smooch every freckle he could detect on his face. It was embarrassing. How could he have thoughts of this for one being?
It was all too conflicting for him, but he still plastered a smile as his heartbeat went faster than he could ever wanted - It only made him feel guiltier, shameful for such ideas- and towards his own friend? Weird, but addicting the feeling was.
Wifies walked closer towards Derapchu, a smile plastered on his face- yet sweat fell from his forehead to his cheek from the running he had to do just to get here in time, but Moreso because he was desperate to see Derapchu's face again. Wifies halted in his steps, and before he knew it; he had the blue-hooded one in his arms in a blink of an eye, initially- he was surprised, he fell onto the ground by his back and Derapchu did as well, tightening the embrace that bounded both of them together.
The man with the violet-bandanna couldn't help but allow himself to bask selfishly in the warmth and comfort of the other man, resting his forehead against his shoulder as the other sobbed against his neck, Wifies was as obviously; concerned yet confused by this- he felt Derapchu's tears soak up his hood. Instead of immediately jumping into questions; he rubbed the other man's back as an attempt to comfort him, at least as best as he could; 'cause he felt quite awkward in a position such as this.
He didn't mind though, that was the weird part; he was ecstatic at best. To have Derapchu in his arms - in such a vulnerable position, he felt an intimate bond between both of them. Wifie's tightened his arms around Derapchu.
" So, mind telling me what happened? "
Once Derapchu calmed down, he sat next to Wifies on the grass, the lantern sitting in-between the two men. Wifies wonders why Derapchu needed a lantern instead of using his phone flashlight but doesn't quite question it - since he thought it was inappropriate to ask random questions about objects in this current time of need the other man was in.
The blue-hooded one looked at the sky, seeing the slight non-seeing clouds flow by through the dark night- before he turned his attention back to Wifies with a groan, " It's just- " He huffed out a chuckle that seemed certainly one-sided from any form of joyful emotion, " I may- or may not have gotten into another argument with my parents. " Said he, only being able to manage out such words in shame.
Derapchu looked away once again, seeing how his hands slowly slipped into his kangaroo-like pockets.
Wifies tilted his head, " How did it happen this time? " Questioned he, itching himself closer towards the other man as his mind went back towards how it started. When he saw the hesitance coming from Derapchu, he nudged him with his elbow like the time they found the cemetery. Derapchu's eyes looked back at the man with the violet-bandanna.
And then he smiled, and could warmth be the word for the amount of comfort Derapchu felt in that moment? " Rant to me, I don't mind. " Said Wifies, voice reassuring.
Derapchu smiled back, sighing.
" So, here's how it started.. "
