Namjoon’s eyes flutter open, and are immediately drawn to the slightly open window next to his bedside. With a smile, he breathes in the crisp autumn air. He reaches to the window sill, pulling himself up and sticks his fingers out the small opening, then glances over to his succulents and greets them with a “good morning”. His eyes search to his nightstand to the clock that reads: 8:14am, and next to it a sleeping Jungkook cuddled up in his bed. They don’t have work to do until 11am and Namjoon doesn’t want to waste the free time he has. He stumbles over to Jungkook’s bed, literally tripping over his inconveniently placed books, but manages to straighten himself up. He pats Jungkook’s side, “Kookie.” Jungkook only stirs and rolls onto his back. Namjoon tries again a little more forceful, but not too rough, “Kookie, let’s go for a walk.” Jungkook groans and rolls back over and pulling his blanket over his head.
Giving up, Namjoon sighs and starts to get dressed. He pulls his black jeans up and buttons them, pulls a sweater over his head, and then gets ready for the cool air with a light jacket, a beanie and a grey scarf wrapped around his neck. Exiting the room he looks at Jin and Yoongi’s door, and knows there is no way he would dare to wake up Yoongi, so their room is off limits. He heads down the hall and walks into the other bedroom to see Taehyung and Hobie cuddled up together, limbs intertwined, on Taehyung’s bed. He smiles and leaves them be. Namjoon then heads over to Jimin’s bed and sits on the edge. “Jiminie,” Namjoon reaches his hand up to put it on Jimin’s cheek. Jimin stirs, wiggles around a little and brings his hand up to Namjoon’s.
His eyes flutter open, “Moni?” He says surprised, and pulls his hand away feeling his face heat up. He looks around and notices no one else is awake. “Is something wrong?”
Namjoon smiles and removes his hand, “No, I just was wondering if you’d like to take a walk with me. I know it’s early, but the air is really nice out today, it seems like a good morning.”
Jimin sits up and stretches with a smile, “Of course, that sounds really nice.”
“I’ll wait for you while you get dressed.” Namjoon walks out of the room while Jimin gets up out of his bed. ‘A walk with Moni.’ He thinks happily. He tugs his jeans up over his thighs, pulls a t-shirt over his head, and grabs an army green jacket to go over it. ‘Oh, I need a beanie and a scarf too, like couple clothing.’ He giggles at his idealistic thoughts, and puts on a black scarf and beanie, like Namjoon. Then he walks into the living room to greet Namjoon with a smile. They both walk over to the door and put on similar boots and head out of their building.
The air feels crisp on their faces. “Doesn’t it feel good?” Namjoon smiles down at Jimin as they arrive to a nearby park. “It really does, thank you for inviting me.” Jimin walks in pace with Namjoon. They mainly walk in silence enjoying the crisp air, the nature of the park, the flowers, and the squirrels scurrying up the trees. Jimin sees a white puppy on a walk with its owner and smiles widely, he can’t help but to pet the puppy and make small talk with the owner. While Namjoon can’t help but to pat Jimin on the head and smile at his actions. They continue to walk and stop in a few places to discuss the beautiful colors of the trees, picking a few leaves to examine. “Don’t forget to look at the sky, Jiminie. We’re always in the studio and we don’t get to see the sky. I heard that you get much happier if you look at the sky for twenty minutes a day. It’s really beautiful, so don’t forget to look.” Namjoon smiles brightly as he gazes at the sky, and Jimin looks up with an equally bright smile. The blue sky is beautiful, with a few cumulus clouds that are creating shapes as the wind blows them slowly by.
The leaves that failed to stay on the trees crunch under their feet as they walk, puffs of breath seen before their faces. Jimin looks up to Namjoon, then down to their hands in close proximity. ‘Hmmm, I’ll just, you know, stretch my fingers out a little bit.’ He thinks while he straightens his hand out and wiggles his fingers while looking the other way towards the pond in the middle of the park. Namjoon is glancing at a leaf he has in his hand until he accidentally drops it and looks down, noticing Jimin’s wiggling fingers and he raises his eyebrow in question. He giggles at Jimin’s obvious way of getting his attention and slides his fingers into Jimin’s, pulls him closer and kisses his cheek.
Jimin looks over, surprised and flustered, with his mouth slightly open. Namjoon laughs, “You’re cute, Jiminie…and so obvious.” Jimin’s face starts to turn pink as he stutters trying to say something but nothing comes out. “Let’s go get some coffee. Your hands are cold.” Namjoon says as he pulls Jimin’s hand into the pocket of his jacket with his.
“Yes,” Jimin nods, “Coffee sounds great.” Jimin’s not really sure if Namjoon is only doing this because he thinks Jimin is cold, or because he actually wants to hold his hand. But for now Jimin feels happy with his hand in Namjoon’s. “You’re right, Moni. It is a good morning.”
