Chapter Text
Around less than a millennium ago, the Prismatic kingdom was founded by a man named Daniel D. Mustang, he was known for being very intellectual and also very kind to his citizens. He worked with a man named Samuel B. R. Lott, who was also quite smart, but whatever he did to help out around the kingdom was always overlooked, as Daniel would always find a way to make it better.
Now, Daniel didn't mean to offend him, Sam was his friend and accomplice after all! He never even noticed that he had done something wrong!
Only a few years later the kingdom had gotten into a war with an empire called the Empire of Reeds. To this day people still don't know why this war had ever started in the first place, but it must have been bad, there are a few rumours on why it started¹ but obviously, there's no remaining proof.
Anyhow, Samuel had some ties to people in the Empire of Reeds, and as they were fighting they had turned against him, as they came to the conclusion that if he works with the Prismatic kingdom, they can't trust him. And so- they bombed his home, killing his wife and 2 sons.
In a fit of rage Samuel cast a spell that shrouded the kingdom in darkness. Now, this spell had a deadly side effect, it would kill around 3/4's of the people in its radius and so, Daniel fell ill and died shortly after. This caused his wife-the queen, Aero R. Yao to become depressed, she felt guilty for not being able to heal her husband and so, she took it upon herself to be in charge of the Kingdom. Though, this was very stressful and with no one to turn too, she started praying to the sun god, known as Akarui Taiyo. Soon after this, her daughter joined her in prayer and then most of the remaining civilians joined in too; they would do anything to get rid of this darkness, at least for a while. So they built a shrine in the centre of the Kingdom, dedicated to Akarui, and then a few years later the sun finally seeped through, and with a bit more work the darkness had disappeared.
but a bit of this story is missing....
