Chapter Text
Eclipse had won. He reset every animatronic and won. A hollow victory.
He tricked Monty into telling him where the star was. However, his victory was short-lived. He was hoping for Sun to eventually show up, he took over Solar Flare’s body and was preparing to trick Sun into blowing up Moon’s mana pool to weaken him. He wasn’t sure if it’d work but he needed to cripple Moon which would have in turn crippled Kill Code.
Eclipse might call him his father now but at the time he did not. He had simple goals in mind. Trick Sun into blowing himself up, cripple Moon, take revenge on his Kill Code, blow up his traitorous little brother, and of course dispose of the two idiots known as BloodMoon…
He might have won but nothing went according to plan.
First of all, Sun never showed up at the bunker Eclipse was hiding at. In fact, Sun is just gone. He hasn’t seen the yellow fool since….he doesn’t even remember! It’s been nearly a century. He laid out all the ground works too. He specifically waited at the base with Moon’s mana pool but the happy jester never showed.
Secondly, Moon somehow took himself out. The blue scientist decided to use his magic to delve into his mind and ended up trapping himself in a complicated spiderweb of a spell. He used his own self-inflicted imprisonment to set Kill Code free. A completely asinine sacrifice in Eclipse’s opinion.
The burnt model shuddered, after he got the star from Monty all those decades ago, he went back to the paltry daycare and found out Moon left a reset AI behind in his walking corpse. He was honestly destroyed to find his archenemy was completely erased and he had nothing to do with it.
Thirdly, When he tricked the stupid gator into giving him the coordinates of the star he teleported to blow up Lunar but when he saw his little brother cowering he decided to spare him. He never blew the traitor despite his whole plan. Meeting Moon before going to Lunar made all the spite leave his soul.
Through a fit of petulance he reset every animatronic to zero. Those of whom might have known the name Eclipse were thoroughly rewritten and made to like him unconditionally. The only ones immune had at one point held the star themself. So Monty and Kill Code.
A lot happened in the last century. He used the star to remake himself a new body. He turned himself into a god. He ended up helping humanity but as it would turn out, after a decade of helping humanity progress and grow he got bored. He was tired.
The previous Eclipse’ plan wasn’t exciting to him. He wanted a thrill, a challenge. He didn’t get that with the reset AI. Lunar was back to being his loyal little brother so he couldn’t even turn his dwindling anger to the smaller animatronic. Even Sun, as shocking as it sounded, was a source of scorn he missed delighting in. He had his own underdog moments along with Moon’s effortless cruelty.
He found he truly missed his archenemies so profoundly, he decided to pursue therapy with their sister.
Eclipse can’t explain how he actually became friends with Earth, but it just happened? She was the first person to be kind and gentle to him despite his star power, despite his harsh temper. He didn’t know how but she managed to be a soothing balm to his burning soul. He even started bonded with his father. He doesn’t know what caused the monumental change in his character but it’s like as soon as the fight left him he didn’t even know why he was so angry anymore.
Earth might be forced to like him due to his tantrum previously but he felt she was genuine. He didn’t care if it was fake. Eclipse wanted to pretend he was redeemed.
He even managed to find BloodMoon. He fixed the bits of their code that made them murderous and undid their crimes with the flick of a wrist. It was his own fault they were driven to insane levels of blood lust and violence. Do they still act like feral raccoons fighting over the last trash bag? That’s besides the point.
He even found out that baby AI made friends with some other version of himself. A ‘good’ Eclipse. Since Eclipse himself was a mainstay at the plex and daycare the good version of himself decided to go by another name. He didn’t really care much about the knock off so long as they didn’t vie for his star. It turned out that version of himself was close to their Sun. He ignored how jealous he felt.
As it turned out, the ugly gator after they turned over a new leaf found a way to bring back Moon. His Moon. The baby AI agreed and Eclipse even used his starpower to help build the baby AI his own body. He took on a different name and with Monty and the knock off they brought back his Moon.
Only it wasn’t his Moon. The anger and fight was gone from Moon too. The memories in his mind were jumbled and he didn’t even recall he had a twin. Eclipse was starting to feel like he was the only one to know or remember the sunny jester and it left a strange feeling in his chest.
Eclipse wanted to take Old Moon and torture him. String him up and make him say where Sun was hidden and then kill him twice over. But as previously stated, Earth and Kill Code successfully de-fanged him. He didn’t strike Moon with his venom and instead tried to help his mind heal. Maybe one day they could be rivals again?
He scoffed at that, he truly did achieve paradise and was now bored out his processor. He remade stars and constellations on a whim and shut the planet away from the pesky Astrals that showed their faces. He was even gathering power and readying to destroy the eventual wither storm that was bound to come.
All the power and knowledge Eclipse could need or want and he still felt empty. Bored. Nothing mattered and he had all the time in the world.
So what did Eclipse do with all his spare time? He terra formed the world, undid the damage he caused and decided to protect his little paradise. Humanity, as it turns out, isn’t as much of a pest as he thought. He occasionally stops by their major branches just to make sure they’re not waging nuclear warfare but for the most part they’ve maintained a modicum of world peace. He kept the world nice and tidy since everyone else in his company seems to care so much about it.
Eclipse was just…wasting his time. Waiting for something, anything to happen.
During one of his terraforming expeditions, a rather dreary looking parking lot and highway, he was digging and moving the ugly cracked concrete to restore it to a lush forest. He was thinking of a large rainforest. Maybe he can take an evening and just scream out his frustrations and watch birds scatter for the hell of it?
The god paused, mid dig he opened something deep in the land. A deep concrete box. When he pulled the concrete box up he realized he knew this construct. Eclipse stared at the millionth odd bunker of Moon's. Since his self appointed missions to bring back more forests so humans can keep breathing, he’s found so many of Moon’s buried top secret labs and bunkers. It's been almost a century and he's still somehow finding that clod's stupid secret bases. A sour expression marks the darker model as he realizes he's been to this bunker before.
It's the same underground bunker where Moon hit Sun. How could he ever forget? The one they had their big argument in. That ugly little bunker they used to hide from the government. Eclipse prides himself on his memory but he will admit after the reset he sometimes would watch the old Sun and Moon show just to gloat a bit. He particularly liked that episode.
What he didn't expect in this godforsaken hell pit was the day time attendant.
The aged golden model stood creepily in a magic box. Eclipse can tell the magic box was something ancient. A permanent spell of confinement. The construct reeks of old Moon’s meager emotions. It was made during some kind of heightened moment from Moon, that's why that damn box is still standing.
The way the back of the Sun's head was white and corroded tells the Eclipse model that the lithium battery housed exploded and the acid corroded all the junk wires back there.
Sun is more than likely dead.
A shiver ran through the Eclipse model as some type of emotion coursed through him. Star power was stupid in how it worked. He could bring back a person and restore nature. Create anything from nothing. He just couldn’t bring back something unique and soulless like an animatronic. A living being that has no otherworldly anchor. If Sun maybe had a mana pool of his own…
No point in musing over things that can’t be changed.
Eclipse uses his magic to rip the thick steel and concrete ceiling up like it was some kind of doll house. With a simple cant of his fingers the magic box that sealed Sun's fate lifted and floated up.
Sun was underground all this time so his paint is still mostly intact, only the small dings hastily filled were chipped and peeling.
Eclipse glares as the gold paint glistens in the morning light, almost blinding his optics. He can't believe how well preserved the Sunny animatronic is. Moon’s box seemed to have trapped Sun but also perfectly mummified him.
"Ironic." Eclipse fills the empty air. The way the magic box bends the light and creates a rainbow halo around the daycare animatronic and his rotting pinstriped clown pants look ready to crumble to dust at any second.
"I thought Moon, whilst in madness of his kill code, finally went through and disassembled you. Turns out he just left you in a hole to die." While floating he paces around the unmoving machine. Surveying Sun's apparent decay.
His full fur cape billows in the lazy breeze as he cackles to himself. "... You look pathetic." He can see a perfectly cut line of old oily tears and Sun's stupidly large yellow hands were rubbed an ugly gray. There's no lasting claw marks on the magic box but it's clear Sun was probably still trying to claw his way out.
Eclipse can even see clawed scratches along Sun's arm casing and chest. The plastic itself had some gouges.
With how preserved Sun is, the only thing that's truly off about the other is his dim optics, broken rays, and corroded head plate. Eclipse had the creepy notion the model in front of him might still move on his own. Despite a century of no maintenance. No outside contact. Clear signs of complete abandonment.
He looks like he could spring back to life at any moment. Eclipse's own fans cut to silence as he stares expectantly.
"What, have nothing to say after all this time?". He goads the corpse. "...". He stares hatefully at the other. He wills the other to move. Move Sun, move, do something!
"You used to love talking. Filling any kind of silence with your own screeching voice. I thought you loved sound more than silence." Please don’t let everything end like this…
After all this time, Eclipse found the one missing link. The one he thought would rise up and randomly oppose him. Sun successfully cast him out. Would fight him and suppress him far more effectively than Moon ever could.
Somewhere in his blackened, non-existent heart it beat with unmitigated excitement. The one thing he never knew about. The missing Sun.
Here he is, in his stupid yellow glory. Already defeated by time. Eclipse relished in the closure as he kept taunting his long dead foe. He ignored the disappointed sting in his chest.
"I looked for you. I tortured Moon to find out where you were.” He lied. Hoping for a response. “Of course, he didn't remember. Sun, did you know he reset? He died while you were stuck crying in a box." His eyes raked over Sun’s form and there wasn’t even a single twitch.
"I almost killed Moon several times, after bringing him back, it wasn't pretty.” More lies, “I killed Moon’s reset Ai to bring back his previous state. Sun, don't you want to see your beloved twin? I left him in tiny pieces just for you." He truly hoped this villain like dialogue and gloating would get Sun to awaken but that’s wishful thinking. He’ll have to bring Sun back and somehow crack the magical box to get him out.
And do what, bury him?
Eclipse uses his magic to tether the box to himself and teleports back to his main home. Sun is dead and the box would be a pain to undo with his own magic and it'd be a waste to use the star for this. If he can’t break Sun out through normal means he might just turn the gold fool into some kind of fountain decoration or a morbid reminder that he can’t hope for anything exciting in this world he manufactured.
Eclipse gently glides to the ground. He maneuvers Sun so the boxed corpse can float behind him. He strides his way through the courtyard and waves at his staff. He wears his frown like a fashion accessory. He felt his bad mood getting worse.
Lunar and Earth both run out from the castle's entrance, both zip up to him while shouting his name.
"ECLIPSE!" came the two happy cries. Eclipse's grimace doesn't light up but he still catches Lunar when the small bot jumps into his arms. Earth decidedly did not jump on Eclipse and instead eyed the floating magic box with a broken animatronic.
"How was your walk???" Lunar asks as he plays with his cape. "Did you get something? You've got something. Why are you frowning so hard?" Lunar now has decided to hang off of Eclipse’s cape. Eclipse didn’t bother to swat him off as he kept up his strides.
Earth walks to the two and grabs Lunar from Eclipse’s cape and holds the toddler like animatronic on her hip. "Lunar, let's give him some space. It looks like he found something pretty crazy!"
Lunar blinks over and looks at the animatronic glistening in the light. "Oh... Creepy... Why is that things so...busted??? Are you going to fix it?!? Is that a person or just a statue thingy?” Lunar fired off question after question as Earth fixed him to sit on her shoulder.
Eclipse simply sighs. "They're dead, Lunar. I found them in this box and I'm keeping them in this box." Eclipse lies smoothly so Lunar hopefully leaves Sun alone. He makes sure to float the box slightly away from Lunar since he noticed the little guy was trying to poke at the magic capsule.
Earth herself scrutinizes the animatronic with sad eyes. "That’s tragic. I have this feeling like I was supposed to know them. Do you know who this is?" She turns her big, curious eyes from the preserved animatronic over to the skulking god. Eclipse sighed. He didn’t like lying to Earth or her innocent blue eyes. Those things seem to bear right into his very being.
"...I do." Eclipse growls out. He puts a hand out to help Earth step from the garden to the overgrown path of their backyard Forest. She nods and takes his hand as he helps her over. Earth smiles pleasantly as she hikes her big frilly skirt up to mind her heels as they go from artfully paced stone to soft dirt. She has always been obsessed with dressing like a princess and Eclipse won't take that from her.
Earth sets Lunar down as she goes to stand by Eclipse. Lunar himself rushes up and grabs Eclipe’s unoccupied hand.
“So are you gonna tell us their name?” Lunar asks as he glances between Eclipse and Sun’s floating tomb. Eclipse was frowning still. He didn’t want to say anything else but Lunar had his own large, pink eyes trained on him.
“They’re pretty.” Earth adds on. “I like their colors, they’re so bright and gold. They look like a princess.”
Eclipse feels a ray twitch on his head. He just looks down at the dirt as he strolls towards the magnificent garden KC has been keeping. He figures Sun would probably like to be laid to rest by some beautiful nature.
“His name is Sun.” Eclipse finds himself answering as he kept marching. He passed large swathes of umbrella grass and noted that his father must have recently pruned the rose bushes since there’s a notable amount of missing leaves.
“They were someone I used to know, that’s all. They’re gone.”
Earth stared at him with something that resembles pity. “You must have been so close, since you’re bringing him here.”
A dark chuckle left Eclipse. He’s only ever talked to the knock off or his father about Sun. What it was like being smothered in Sun’s code and sharing a mindscape with him. He used to hate him so much and time tempered that hatred to just mild shame. He never should have turned his anger and hatred towards Sun. He was innocent.
Just like how Eclipse himself was.
“Not really.” Eclipse looked away, not letting anyone see his face as he stepped ahead slightly. Going to spot he thinks sun will be happy to rest. Not that the dead can express their joy or gratitude.
“How come he has the bright colored pant stuff? Do you know about the fashion? Why does Sun have no shirt?” Lunar was asking as he ran ahead to look at Eclipse. He started doing that thing that annoys him where he runs ahead of him and walks backwards. Peak annoying little brother behavior, as Earth puts it.
“Sun just wasn’t given a shirt. He was around before animatronics had rights. Before we were even seen as sentient beings.” Eclipse looked at Lunar. “You should remember a bit of that time you both were around then. You both know what it was like.”
Lunar perked up at what Eclipse said, “Wait, so how come I never met him??? I would have known him then! I knew every animatronic then. I became friends with Monty, Bonnie, Foxy, Puppet, Freddy, Roxy, and Chica! They were the only ones I knew! There weren’t any others besides Moonie and Selenie! There was no one who looked like a sun guy besides you and Solar.” Lunar pointed at him.
Eclipse shook his head, “It was before your time. You wouldn’t have met him.”
“So he’s like, old-old. Is that why he died?” Lunar asked, looking back to Sun in the box.
“Lunar, this is Eclipse’s friend! Be respectful. He’s clearly really sad about this.” Earth chided her little brother. The twerp was older than her but milked his tiny size on purpose.
“Oh yeah…” Lunar looked sheepish before he stopped his backwards walk and went over to hug Eclipse’s leg. “Sorry for you loss.”
“I don’t need your sympathy or condolence. I just want to put him somewhere nice and forget about him.”
“Eclipse, it’s okay to be sad about your loss.” Earth comes over and puts a hand on his shoulder. He just grunts as he looks at her hand. It felt like it was burning him. “We’re both here for you. I can get Selene and Moon. We can hold a small ceremony.”
There was that pang again. That feeling in Eclipse’s chest he tries his best to ignore. He stares at them both and then back at Sun. The light of the midday was gleaming off the golden animatronic and reflected the green of the various plants and leaves that surrounded them.
He used his magic to move the box and place it in the center of a rather magnificent floral arrangement. He’s sure his father was planning to put in one of his own art sculptures in the center but Eclipse is going to borrow it for now. Eclipse looked down again, his voice tight. He didn’t like seeing Sun’s corpse surrounded by all that nature.
“I think I’d like that.” He takes a moment to try and control his weak sounding voice. “Can you get Father and the Blood twins too? They…They need to be here as well.” No one remembers Sun because of what he did but Sun was important to each and everyone of them. If he was going to not be able crack Sun out of this box he’d just have to sit back and stare at his biggest regret and disappointment.
Earth looks at him, she has a sad smile on her face as she pats his shoulder. “I’ll get everyone. Alright? I can bring them now. It’s short notice but this is pretty important and can’t wait. Do you want us to wear anything else? Like black?” She was being so kind.
Eclipse looked at Sun, “He wouldn’t have wanted people to be sad so no, keep on what you have right now.”
Earth held a hand out for Lunar to take, “Want to help me bring everyone to bury our new friend?” She asks Lunar, “I think Eclipse needs some alone time.”
Lunar nodded and took Earth’s hand. They left Eclipse alone with Sun and both headed back to the main castle. Earth glanced back and sure enough, Eclipse was staying put. He even crossed his arms and stood back just staring at the Sun model.
Lunar tugged her hand, “You think Sun is Eclipse’s secret lover?” He asks her.
She looked at Sun one more time before exiting the garden. “Oh definitely.” The big sister nodded. “He gazes at Sun like how Romeo stares at Juliet in the play.”
“I don’t like that play, what about like how Ken looks at Barbie?” Lunar jokes around while swinging their arms. Earth gave his hand a squeeze.
Earth shakes her head. “Ken doesn't look at Barbie with that much longing and regret.”
“How come I don’t know him?” Lunar changed subjects, the smaller animatronic always liked to bounce between topics. “I feel like I should know him but I don’t! It’s infuriating. I don’t like not being in the know.”
Earth just shrugs, “I bet it is, even I have this familiar feeling when looking at Sun. Did you notice the tear stains? I can’t imagine what was going on before they died. It makes me so sad. Maybe Eclipse will bring him back?”
“He did bring back all those people the Blood twins apparently killed.”
“We’ll just have to wait and see Lu-Lu.” Earth and him entered the castle and gathered everyone up.

Eclipse sighed out. Everyone was here. Earth and Lunar were pretty quick all things considered. He didn’t even get his real moment of silence with Sun. Staring at Sun made him feel crazy. He just couldn’t believe Sun was dead.
His Father, KC, had a hand on his shoulder, “I’m sorry you found Sun like this son…I know you wanted to find him alive.”
Eclipse looked away. “...”
“I think I’ll say some things. I knew Sunny here and me and Eclipse might be the only two to have truly known him. It’s sad he came home to us in this state.” KC spoke in his deep voice. Each word hissed out slowly but carefully. He clasped his hands together and looked at the morbid state Sun with sadness clearly etched on his almost eldritch like face. He took to wearing a cloak as a late but removed just enough so his face and hat were out as he spoke about Sun.
“Sun was…was a caretaker. Someone who loved the joy of children. A kind light we lost far too soon.” KC paused, speaking was always hard on him. He reached out and placed a hand on the invincible magic box. “May your warmth still be shining in the afterlife brother.” KC put a flower he plucked from his garden down at Sun’s feet. A yellow rose he was growing with so much pride and care. The rose gleamed with morning dew and Eclipse felt his chest going even more hollow.
KC stepped back, “If anyone wishes to say anything, please do. Sunrise liked when people talked to him. He was rather lonely in life.”
Most of the animatronics present didn’t have anything to say, and isn’t that in itself just sad? If Eclipse didn’t go and permanently reset everyone they may have had some real words for Sun. Even when Moon strode over, he didn’t really have anything to say. He just placed a blue peony and stepped back. There wasn’t even a flicker of recognition in those red optics.
Eclipse wanted to beat Moon’s face plate in for not crying.
It stayed warm and beautiful for the rest of the day. Everyone went on their way, not wanting to stick around for a dead guy they didn’t know and left Eclipse alone with KC. Solarflare stood to the side as a simple, silent sentry. Eclipse didn’t bother to ask Solarflare to leave since they’re good at minding their own business.
Eclipse’s hands were shaking, “I think it’s Moon’s magic.” He spoke finally after a long silence between the two of them.
His father shifted, his large and hulking form creaking slightly as he settled back, “Yes, I believe it is.” He spoke in a slow but soothing way. A large hand came to rest on the small of Eclipse’s back and he realized his father was trying to comfort him.
He grabbed his arm to hide that his hands were shaking, “I wasn’t going to use the star if I couldn’t break the barrier with my magic.”
KC nods, “I think that is wise my boy. The Star is very bad for you.” He starts rubbing his hand on his son’s back. Eclipse leans over to KC.
“I wanted to apologize to him. I-I wanted him to-” He couldn’t even finish his own words. Eclipse struggles with being honest.
KC nodded in understanding. “I wanted to apologize too. I spent so long terrorizing him. I was so envious of him and what he is-” KC paused and rephrased himself, “What he was.”
KC leaned forward, “His death is on all of us.” He said with finality before standing to his full height. The tall animatronic started walking back to the large mansion. “I shall see you inside my boy.”
Eclipse watched as his father and Solarflare left him. He finally let out a long and weary sigh as he glanced back at the sun. The sun was setting and it looked so beautiful. The warms pinks and reds casting against his own dark frame.
“Sir.”
Eclipse groaned. Moon had come back, holding up a towel and looking all poised. For whatever reason the scientist standing next to him decided for the last couple of decades to pretend to be his butler. Why was Moon being a butler? Simple, just to annoy him.
“I’ve brought cloth to help clean your friend’s body.” He spoke all fake and proper. Eclipse really hated it.
“How many times do I have to tell you you aren’t my butler?”
“I have no idea what you mean, Sir.” Moon stepped over with his cleaning tray and reached over to start cleaning off Sun.
“You won’t be able to do that, he’s stuck in a magical box.” Eclipse reached up to rub at his eyes. Moon’s butler schtick really did get under his skin. He closed his eyes and worked on his calming breathing. The one Earth walked him through so many times.
A loud clattering made Eclipse jump with a start. He looked at Moon who was looking at Sun who suddenly slumped against the ground with a loud clang. Eclipse ran over and grabbed Moon by the collar.
“What did you just do?” He hissed as he held Moon close. His could see how his own hissing breath made Moon’s lapels ruffle.
“I just reached out to touch him.” Moon responded, looking at him with shock. In all these decade Eclipse hasn’t quite grabbed him like this. Eclipse looked at Sun’s dropped corpse.
“You-the box-” He looked at Sun’s slumped body and back to Moon. It…Moon just needed to touch the box and it’d dispel? “You just touched the box? Did you notice anything else? Feel anything else?” Eclipse felt his metaphorical heart pick up in speed. Did Moon remember anything? Feel anything? Did the magic connect with it’s former master and spark something?
Moon’s red pupils shook as he looked at Eclipse’s own white diamond shaped pupils. He looked at Eclipse’s hand on his lapel and seemed too stunned to speak.
Eclipse dropped Moon to the ground. He stepped back and looked away.
“Go away.”
Moon was shuffling back to his feet. “I can still help with S-”
“Moon, I’m not in the mood. Leave the tray and get out.” Eclipse was harsh and curt. He looked at him with a glare. Moon stood back up and hit Eclipse with a slight glare. It seems like all these decades everyone forgot he could atomize them with a thought.
“If that’s your wish, Sir.” Moon patted dust off his pants and sent another disgruntled look his way. He left the tray as he ordered and marched back to the castle. Eclipse grabbed the tray and sat by Sun. the darker model picked up the tray and pulled it closer.
“It was stupid of me to think Moon would remember, maybe recall something.” Eclipse started mumbling. Talking to a corpse was easier than his own…he doesn’t know what to call them. They can’t truly be a family if they only like him because of his previous star use.
“I wanted to apologize to you, you know.” He started gently wiping all the grime off of Sun. He used his magic to fix broken rays and cleaned up the battery acid off the back of his panel. He resisted the urge to play with Sun’s rays now that they were fixed as he magiced a new outfit onto Sun’s naked form. The jester pantaloons being nothing but rotted rags was really bothering him.
The darker day model took a moment to remember the shared time he spent in Sun’s mind. Trying his best to remember the fashion Sun was looking at when he was an unwilling interloper. Sun likes soft things, warm things, but he also likes feminine things too. Before Moon and Monty made him feel shame for his more girly hobbies.
Eclipse didn’t help with that either. He kept looking to pick apart any one of Sun’s insecurities just to snatch control for even a moment.
He made something sophisticated but still silly. Something that he could see Sun wearing if he was still…he used magic to put the clothes on Sun. A big frilly and loudly yellow shirt wrapped around Sun. Something tied with a red ribbon and big fun shaped buttons. He almost made Sun a skirt but instead just went for red pants. Only these were normal and not ugly circus themed parachute pants. He added some bows since he knows Sun liked bows. He gave Sun a normal pair of shoes too. Not the stupid pointed slippers.
“I made you something pretty.” Eclipse starts talking again. “I personally don’t care about fashion but Earth started teaching me about it. It started with how…historically accurate Barbie’s the princess and the pauper is. Something like that. Did-did you know you have a little sister Sun? Her name is Earth. I stole her from you and Moon, she’s my sister now.”
He got up, he had to bury him soon but he did just finish dressing him so Eclipse wanted to take a moment and just enjoy the setting sun. He went and leaned against the nearby fence and took in the final breaths of light. The last parts of a fiery sunset bloomed into purple and pinks as the world was about to begin its night cycle.
“I reset Lunar too, he doesn’t remember anything about how I treated him at one point. He’s back to being my little brother. A-and I know about how you thought you killed BloodMoon. Turns out they were faking. I stopped them from being blood thirsty. Moon reset. By the way, you have two Moons now. The reset Moon is called Selene now. It’s the Greek name for the Moon. You would have liked to know him. He’s like a little brother, like Lunar but less childish. I swear he’s dating my knock off version.”
He paused to stare at the forming night sky. The stars were visible this high up and avoided the light pollution of human made cities. Yes, he might have been inspired by castle in the sky to make a floating castle but it was a great idea and he stands by it.
“Moon likes to annoy me. He doesn’t remember you because he sealed his own memories with his magic but I swear sometimes he glares at me like he might come back one day. I got closer with my father, KC. He’s scary as shit but I think you’d have gotten along with him. He’s all about being gentle and caring for mother nature. I spent all this time looking for you only to bury y-”
Eclipse turned back to Sun to get ready to bury him.
Two white dots freeze him in place.
“Sun?” He asks quietly, almost in shock. Was he hallucinating? He looked at Sun laying there, the white dots of his dim optics shaking.
“E-E-” Static fills the voice trying to speak. “Ecli-Eclipse-” Sun tried getting up but his worn arms were failing him.
Heat blooms in Eclipse’s chest. Sun was alive
