They had gone out to the ballpark today (Melissa had finally agreed to go; since the local minor league team was home, Jamie had bought two tickets immediately). Melissa had been involved so far; the in-game host said there was going to be a sing along. When the first bars of the song started, Jamie watched a big smile come across Melissa’s face.
”Touching me, touching you,” Melissa belted along, a smile on her face. Jamie had one as well; he’d never seen this side of Melissa before.
”Sweet Caroline,” they sang, adding the “ba ba ba” at the end with the rest of the crowd, “Good times never seemed so good (so good, so good, so good). I’ve been inclined (ba ba ba) to believe they never would.”
When that part was over, they both were laughing and had big smiles on their faces. “That was so fun. You never told me they did that,” Melissa said. “I would have come a long time ago.”
”Well, now you know why I enjoy it so much,” Jamie chuckled. “It’s not just the baseball.”
”It’s mostly the baseball though, right?” Melissa asked.
”Right,” Jamie laughed. “Thank you for coming with me today. This was a lot of fun.”
”It has been,” Melissa said. “Maybe we can do it again next time they’re in town?”
”You have yourself a deal.”
