Robert nodded his head to the beat as he painted the walls of the nursery. His new AirPods (courtesy of his now boyfriend Flambae) were blasting “Bongos” by Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B. It was a song he enjoyed and reminded him of their first night together. He used to blush every time he thought of that night but him and Flambae had made plenty of more memories like that. When that dam was broken they were fucking multiple times a day. Just that morning he had rode Flambae like a horse before eating breakfast. He claimed it was because they were going to be busy setting up the nursery all day but in truth Robert was just horny.
The color he was painting the walls was called “Baby Girl” and was a soft pink. As cliché as it was he really liked the color. The furniture was still in boxes in the living room as they didn’t want to get paint on anything. Flambae said he would set everything up once Robert was done painting. Normally Robert would argue that he was perfectly capable of putting a crib together but his stomach was growing heavier by the day which was hell on his back.
Chad had gone to get them some lunch from a bagel shop down the street. This place had a variety of lunch sandwiches that Robert really liked and had been craving. Normally Chad would just make him a bagel sandwich but seeing how they were busy that day Robert was able to talk him into getting takeout. It might have also been an additional thanks to their morning bedroom activities. Sometimes all Robert had to do was give Flambae a certain look and he would have him wrapped around his finger.
He yelped when he felt two hands grab his ass. These hands shifted around to his front and pulled him close against the front of a warm body. Robert couldn’t help but giggle as he felt Flambae kiss his neck. With a tap of his finger he paused his music.
“Have I ever told you that you have a great ass?” Flambae breathed into his ear.
Robert wiggled a bit as Chad’s breath tickled the shell of his ear. “I recall you saying I was like a bag of bones.”
“That was before this.” Flambae caressed his baby bump. “Putting my kid in you was the best thing I ever did.”
Since the start of the pregnancy Robert’s body had become softer. Before where had been knobby knees and sharp elbows was now a healthy layer of fat and muscle that cushioned him when he had to kneel or lean on something. In particular his ass had shaped out very nicely. It was often that he would feel a hand on his lower cheeks or notice eyes following him with hunger.
Robert turned around and kissed Flambae. Chad smirked into the kiss and attempted to back Robert against the wall. Before he could Robert stuck a hand between them and placed a finger on the pyrotechnic’s lips.
“Wet paint, remember?”
Flambae looked back at the wall before kissing Robert again. “We can always go back to the bedroom.”
Robert rolled his eyes playfully. “You’re insatiable.”
“Is that so? Who was riding whom this morning?”
Robert took a dab of paint from the brush and smeared some paint onto Flambae’s cheek. Flambae sputtered a bit and moved to wipe the paint off of his face.
“Don’t.” Robert said. “Pink is definitely your color.”
“All colors are my color, bitch.” Flambae Robert’s hand and pulled him towards the door. “Let’s eat. Then I’m going to show you how much I appreciate you.”
Robert and Flambae were chilling in bed. They were still a bit sweaty from the sex they had after lunch so they were taking a small break before getting back to setting up the nursery. They were both sat against the headboard, Robert resting his head on Chad’s shoulder with Beef curled into his side while Flambae was on his phone. They were looking at baby toys online. They had already received a plethora of gifts such as clothes and diapers but they knew they were eventually going to need toys for their baby.
“What about this one?” Chad asked.
He pointed at a light wooden bunny push toy. Flambae insisted they get toys made from natural materials rather than the cheap plastic ones. The all natural toys were more expensive but Flambae had received a gift of money from his parents to buy baby stuff. The Ali’s were fairly wealthy as Baba Ali had been a very successful businessman before he retired. Robert’s in laws spent most of their time traveling in a luxury RV but were planning on visiting when the baby is born.
“Kind of plain looking, isn’t it?” Robert said.
Flambae shrugged. “We can paint it; they make baby safe paint.”
Robert hummed. “Ok, but what color? I don’t wanna be like those sad beige moms.”
Flambae thought for a moment. “How about a nice green color? That’ll go well with the pink walls.”
“As long as it doesn’t look like a children’s hospital I’ll be happy.”
Flambae snorted a bit. “Still can’t believe they chose red for a hospital floor.”
Flambae added the toy plus a small can of baby safe sage green paint to his cart. After a few more minutes of online shopping Chad seemed to remember something. He passed his phone to Robert and kissed his cheek before getting out of bed.
“Wait here for a sec.”
Robert raised a brow at him. “You gonna walk around our house with your dick out?”
Chad winked at him. “Don’t act like you don’t love it.”
Even so, Flambae still put on his silk bathrobe before exiting their room. Beef perked up a bit when Flambae left and watched the door with his head tilted in curiosity. Robert smiled a bit and gave Beef some pets.
“Where’d daddy go?”
Beef looked up at him and barked. It still threw him for a loop that Beef had another dad. Just as Flambae had fallen in love with Robert he grew to love the fat potato they called their dog. Flambae pretended to be indifferent to Beef but the various little outfits he had bought the dog said otherwise. His once empty mantle had sonogram pictures as well as a photo of Robert holding Beef who was dressed in a tiny tuxedo. There had been a top hat that came with the tux but Beef wasn’t big on hats.
After a minute or so Flambae returned with a box wrapped in light blue paper with a white bow. Beef barked excitedly and ran to the edge of the bed to greet Chad. He took a moment to rub the dog’s belly before getting back in bed and handing the box over to Robert.
“Happy birthday, bitch.”
Robert was genuinely surprised at this. He had never really paid attention to his birthday before. He had been so busy with hero work and maintaining the suit that he never had time or money to do anything special. He knew that Flambae knew when his birthday was but he hadn’t expected to actually get a gift.
“You got me a present?” Robert asked, looking down at the box in amazement.
“Of course I did, I’m your boyfriend.” Flambae gestured to the box. “Don’t keep me in suspense.”
Robert chuckled and gave Flambae a kiss before tearing into the paper. Once he cleared the paper away he was met with a red box containing a Nintendo Switch 2. More specifically it was an Animal Crossing themed Switch. Robert looked down at it in awe, slowly running his hand over the smooth box.
“You got me a Switch?”
Flambae tapped the box. “With Animal Crossing as well as the DLC. I also got you Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom; they’ll be here on Monday.”
Growing up he remembers all the other kids at school having gaming consoles. On the off chance he got invited somewhere he loved to play the various games his class mates had on their Game Cubes and PlayStations. He remembered begging his dad for at least a GameBoy so he could play Pokemon. His father thought video games were a waste of time so he never got anything for Robert.
Robert felt tears prick at his eyes and he sniffed a bit. At this Flambae became concerned.
“Do you not like it?” Flambae asked.
Robert sniffed again. “No, I love it. How did you even get this? I thought the prices had been raised.”
“I ordered it before the price raise. Even so, I still would’ve gotten it for you. You’ve been antsy since getting parental leave and I figured this would help with that. I still have another month before I can take time off and I don’t want you to do anything too strenuous while I’m not here.” Flambae blushed a bit. “I also find Animal Crossing to be relaxing and I figured we could play together. I can help you get your island set up and help you get ideas for what you want to do. I know it’s corntina but—.”
Flambae was cut off by Robert pulling him in for a hug. He was quick to return the hug as Robert gave him a chaste but firm kiss.
“Has anyone told you that you’re a great boyfriend?” Robert said, his smile beaming.
“Excuse you? I’m the best boyfriend!”
They both laughed a bit before their kissing started to get more heated. Unfortunately Beef was having none of that as he barked and wriggled his way in between them. Flambae rolled his eyes but still gave Beef an affectionate ear scratch.
“Your tame potato is interrupting us.”
Robert gave Flambae a cheeky smile. “Our tame potato.”
“Of course, our tame potato.”
