Notes:

February Wump Day 17 Fingers in a Wound

Work Text:

Nezuko crawls on the ground away from the monster. A human like monster that sliced her family for no reason other then he felt like it. His face bored as if their terror in their final moments weren’t enough to satisfy him. Rage fills her at the thought. Her mother and younger siblings deaths were met with mockery.

The wounds on her legs made it difficult to stand up but in her determination and rage she does. Her stance is shaky, her breaths desperate as tears fell down her face. Clinging to the furniture around her as support she faces him.

“Why?” her voice comes out hoarse as he stops in front of her. His face impassive as he looks at her.

“Because I can,” his voice comes out with clear annoyance, as he stands their as if it does not phase him at all.

“No, why do this at all? Why hurt people, especially ones that were so kind to you?” tears stop at the mention of her families kindness. They had done nothing to him but treat him with the utmost sincerity and this is their thanks.

“Perhaps that's why. Perhaps it was because you’re ignorant backwater family was so kind to me. That it annoyed me so much that I had to eliminate it,” the stranger says his eyes flashing with something Nezuko can not recognize.

“That isn’t good enough, why? WHY?” her knees give out as she collapses to the ground. The pain of it did not register to her as her eyes came into contact with her families blood. Is it her mothers? She is the closest to her after all. It could be one of her little brothers, he was sitting her when it all started.

“Honestly it looks like you don’t understand my perspective at all. Well looks like I have to make you understand. Especially since you do have a good foundation,” his face somehow turns even crueler as his finger slams into the forehead. Nezuko can feel it squirming inside of her, changing her.

“What foundation?”

“Ah more questions. Well as I am sure you can tell by now but soon you be exactly like me. Not as powerful but powerful enough seeing as how much blood I am giving you,” he smirks at her

Nezuko can feel her body being torn into shreds as she tries to retain the sanity of her own mind. She grabs onto his hand and tries to pull it out to no avail. Her strength diminishing as she feels less and less like Nezuko and something far more horrific. She spares a glance at her mother, mentally giving her strength as the creature calling itself a man removes his finger from her flesh.

Leaving without a backwards glance. Before she heard him in her mind warning her of the consequences of betrayal. Her body freezes up at the mention of her still living brother down the mountain. Her mind fractures as she tries to figure out what to do.

Weakly with the last bit of her strength she hobbles towards her younger brother in the entrance. Enclosing her arms around trying to protect him even if it is too late. It is far to late to do nothing but wait for dawn.
