Her chest aches as she lowers herself to the ground uneasily. It blossoms underneath her chest as she tries desperately to keep it under control. Her friends around her look at her in concern, they do not come near her due to the energy she is emitting. Momo though, still tries desperately to come near her.
“Nikki! Nikki I am here!” he shouts as he tries to reach out to her. She wants to respond to him and reassure him that she will be fine but the pain in her chest can only make her whimper.
The people around her emboldened by Momos’ determination to save her, join him in trying to get to her. No one is able to get near her as her chest explodes and become a million pieces hovering over her chest. Everyone, Tan Youyou, Giovanni, shroomlings and so many others are blown back by the force of it.
The Heart of Infinity glows painfully against her skin as she rises in the air above everyone. As she rises the world around her begins to shatter along with her heart. Buildings crumble, the land breaks itself apart, and even the clouds dissipiate in the air.
Nikki is unable to do anything about this. No matter how hard she tries to rein her heart to get the Heart of Infinity back under control she can’t. Tears drip down the side of her face as the heart reacts more violently. The world underneath her becoming nothing. Her friends and her family becoming splatters on the ground that soon becomes nothing.
At the sight of the people she loves becoming nothing, Nikki loses whatever control she has left. Her mind becomes a blank void as people scream and animals run in hopes of an an escape. It does not come. All that is left is death. All that is left is nothing. It continues on for hours, every painful minute of her failure destroying everything she loves bit by bit.
The Heart of Infinity eventually exhausts itself. It leads her to falling to her doom. Even with her heart torn to shreds, Nikki is nothing if not a determined young lady. Saving herself on the slivers of what is left.
She can barely stand and all this around is dirty puddle water that she is not yet desperate enough to drink. Crawling to shade she collapses, falling into uneasy sleep. The horror of her failure making her feel numb to everything around her.
Nikki wakes up after an uneasy sleep for who knows how long. She lays in the filthy ground as she just screams. Screaming until her voice is nothing but a hoarse whisper. ‘I didn’t mean to,’ she thinks, even as tears fall from her eyes. Holding herself as Momo isn’t around to do it anymore.
A paintbrush comes into sight as she slowly gets up. It catches her attention as it makes her think of before. How only a day before she was here painting with all the people who love her. She grabs it and continues on her way. Nikki will grab many more things that she will eventually take into another world of her own creation.
Until then she limps towards any hope she can find with a paintbrush in her hand.
