It was a gloomy sunny morning at the Mayfield and Hargrove house, I then woke up to complete silence in her shared room with Max, as i woke up to get ready in the bathroom Max was standing by the door hair still frizzy and puffy eyes as she rubs them saying “good morning” as i fix my hair, Max washes her face and asks “is Billy awake?” her voice hints that she wouldn’t want him awake since we both hate him with our guts, then I reply “nope, it’s a good thing we’re not gonna hear any of his bullshit in the morning” I let out a chuckle as I start to brush my teeth then Max tells me before heading out of the bathroom “can you get breakfast ready?” I sigh and say “okay fine.” I then head out to the kitchen to make some pancakes she learned from scratch since Mom and our step father Neil are never home. As I’m making the pancakes Max heads out to the porch to skate a bit, as I finish up the pancakes I call max shouting “max! pancakes are ready, come eat them before we go to mikes place!” I don’t get an answer I then head to the window to peek out as I see El who never leaves the cabin talk to Max. After I few I see Max suddenly rushing in bringing El which was weird since we barely even saw her , I then ask “El? What are you doing here?” Max then says in a voice slightly pissed “Mikes been lying to her and she suspects something, so screw going to Mikes house let’s figure out what Mike lied about now.” I then say eagerly ”Ooh! let me in on this!” I reply as I grab the pancakes and follow El and Max into our shared room. As Max and El plop down on Maxs bed, I sit on the vanity eagerly eating the pancake as i curiously wait for the story, Maxs plate still lies beside me yet she’s to intrigued with this Mike situation. El then starts telling us how mikes been acting weird she says “Mike hasn’t called me a lot… he says his nana is sick..? He stopped coming by too.” Max then scoffs and says “Oh Mikes full of shit, he’s probably hanging out with those other douches in his basement playing dnd” I then reply in a muffled voice since my mouths full of waffles “oh yeah.. *chewing* he’s so lying to you..” El then looks at us confused and says “Friends don’t lie…” Max then says “Yeah well boyfriends do… ALL THE TIME.” El then realizes and feels betrayed by mikes lying but then Max puts her hand on her shoulder saying “Hey.. forget Mike.. you can hang out with me and my sister today at the mall if you’d like!” She says with a smile, El then thinks about it and eagerly says “Okay!”. As me and max grab our stuff and head out we take the bus with El to the new star court mall. As we take a seat on the bus , El sits between me and Max, I then say “I heard they say the malls got the best AC units in town!” Max then replies “I heard the got like a gajillion different stores!” We then laugh as we head inside El stops us and says “Hopper says against the rules..” as she looks at the mall from outside me and max nudge her and say “We make our own rules!” El then takes a second then nods and heads in with me and Max.
