First things first, the universe itself. It's made up of a bunch of different dimensions, which are further spilt into differing timelines. But both of the main shows I'm working on take place in the same dimension and timeline. This might cause you to wonder why I have the dimensions and timelines, and the simple answer is for plot reasons. I have stuff in different dimensions but the same universe, and the timelines are just for angst.
Next thing we need is the religion. I first made it more inspired by if Christianity and Greek mythology had an affair and produced a child, and then I just decided to steal a bit from every religion, since they all have the same/similar origins (looking over to Christianity, Islam, and Judaism) and the trio I just mentioned has all the same prophets and basically the same rules. The main difference is actually the place of origin, so to discriminate someone based on their religion is just racism. Like just their religion not how they act, I live on a very strict moral code where if someone is genuinely a bitch I will find a way to discriminate against them, does not matter how many minorities or lack there of they are in. The gods of the world, or otherwise known as the Immortals are believed to have created the universe and everything in it that exists within those boundaries. Along with that, they are also assumed to have the ability to grant immortality to mortals or places such as the Guardians Castle, Golden Cove Preparatory School, and Murder Island.
With this, they are quite powerful beings, and are worshiped in different languages, depending on which you use. One Immortal will respond appropriately to the situation. Such as if you pray to Nyx, the Immortal of light and life, in mid-modern English, for it's the easiest one, Temperance, the Immortal of in between and trickery will be the responder. And if you pray to Dies, the Immortal of death and darkness, in old English instead of Latin, you will have Nyx attempt to solve your problem, unfortunately in the majority of cases has a worse outcome.
Nyx and Dies represent the polar opposites which are darkness and light, in place they need the other to have meaning or exist peacefully. in order for this to reign forever, they created balance, Temperance.
Yet with balance comes unbalance, Tempest, the Immortal of rage and hatred, cursed to the mortal realm by his own father, Dies, for his sins. Still yearning for immortality, Tempest seduced women to carry his children, and then harvested his children's souls for eternal youth.
It's extremely obvious to see Tempest was based off of William Afton, I know, I want to kms too. Anyway, this is just very bare bones of their roles and how they interact with their world around them. It's not even how they interact with the world around them, it's just like them. I suck at writing I'm sorry.
Okay next force of action, the Guardians.
These are demigods, and they are found in the Time Dimesion, which is the main dimension in which both my magical girl ocs and YOLO takes place. Fun fact: Almost all "I swear to god" and "Oh my god!" in the YOLO script was replaced with references to the Immortals or the Guardians.
Now like, the Guardians are seen as political leaders, and like any political leaders when the masses view them as unauthorized religious figures, they exploit the shit out of both the magical girl group and the actual Immortals to better fit the propaganda they spread. It's so preppy in here right? Yet, they were also given immortally from the Immortals, but it was literally just a joke on Temperance's side. The Immortals cannot fix this, as the ripple it would cause in the dimension would be horrific. I digress. So while the whole world now has a warped sense of the Immortals and what's right from wrong, since the Immortals have been proven to exist in universe. ALSO, the Guardians have Immortal like powers, they're like kind of gods, just in the mortal world, and they have no chance of becoming actual Immortals, because of how corrupt they became.
"Oh than the side rebelling the Guardians is good?" NO WRONG! This is basically just when 2 extremes are taken so far than they just end up exploiting the vulnerable, even though both sides claim to protect the vulnerable. "Then why aren't the Immortals corrupt, as Nyx and Dies are also 2 extremes???????" Because they have Temperance, who is their balance. The Guardians lack all balance, which is what allowed them to become as corrupt as they are.

Fallen Guardians: Either died in battle or were executed, only 2, yet that was hundreds of years ago
Lilith: Guardian of Illusion, created the Guardians and the first recorded person out of 2 to have Illusion powers. Killed by Ice in a fit of rage. (Female) (No one can remember her voice)
Ice: Guardian of coldness. Was executed after murdering Lilith, but trapped her soul in a crystal for the next Illusion master to find. (Female) (Voice claim: Golden Cheese Cookie, Cookie Run: Kingdom)
Rose and Phoebe: Rose is Phoebe’s mother
Rose and Planter: They are married
Rose and Kindle: Mentor and student (Rose being the mentor)
Rose and Coal: More co-workers than friends
Rose and Ice: Sisters
Planter and Phoebe: Step-dad and step-daughter Planter and Coal: Brothers
Planter and Kindle: Cool plant guy and girl he keeps around to make lights when he’s gardening at night
Phoebe and Kindle: (POSSIBLY YURI IDK) Best friends, since they are at a similar mental age and appearance
Phoebe and Coal: Uncle and niece
Coal and Kindle: Mentor and student (Coal being the mentor)
