It was cold Saturday morning and Genya happen to be up. He blinked slowly at the feeling of waking up; it looked early enough to be around six something in the morning. He rolled back over to his other side, grabbing his phone that lay beside him. 6:27 his phone read on the time. He opens the messaging app, pressing Kanao's contact but not typing anything, nervous. Then he cringes, ’cause who the hell would be up at this hour. He just closes the messaging app completely and starts scrolling on his phone mindlessly. He wonders if she’s up.
his thoughts drift back to the previous school day. He would like to forget about it, completely. Genya hated feelings and especially ones he couldn’t control. But as much as he tried to drowned out his thoughts by pointless and mindless scrolling, it only came to the front of his brain even more. He couldn’t help the curling ugly feeling he got in his stomach of jealousy by thinking about how Kanao and Tanjiro looked by the music room yesterday afternoon.
Genya had been crushing on Kanao very hardly ever since they recently became friends. The reason why they starting talking is because of family. His elder brother Sanemi used to date Kanaos older adoptive sister Kanae. Although Kanae and Sanemi aren’t dating any more and found new partners, Kanae often very friendly keeps in touch with Sanemi, often inviting Genya and him over to dinners at her house.
Genya pondered if Kanao really did like Tanjiro then that would be that. Tanjiro was probably one hundreds time better boyfriend material then himself. Then yet again if that ever really happened Genya would probably not open up his heart like that for that type of love ever again. Unlike his older brother Sanemi who refound love after dating Kanae, now happily dating Giyu Tomioka, the schools quiet and reckless p.e. teacher. Genya probably knew it was hard for Sanemi to even except the fact of a crush on Giyu but never the less it worked out in the end and found true happiness. Kanae was not Sanemis true love Giyu was, so maybe this was all a silly misunderstanding and Kanaos true love was Tanjiro? And he was probably getting in the way of something.
The time was about 9 in morning and Genya's mind spiraled by itself with self doubt until a notification from the group chat he was in with Inosuke, Nezuko, Zenitsu, Aoi, Tanjiro, Kanao, Muichiro, Yuichiro, and Senjiro and Masachikas younger brother for some reason. "WHITCH ONE OF U ATE MY CLOCALTE BAR" Inosuke had typed in all caps."*Chocolate bar" Zenitsu corrected with a rolling eye emoji. "DOUNT GTE SMUART ON ME PISS HAIR WHO DID IT TELL ME RIBJT NOW!" Inosuke typed back impatiently while muichiro's contact came into view with three dots that represented texting back. "Inosuke maybe you left it in your bag." Muichiro responded. "that wasn't even your chocolate bar you idiot you stole it from me on Friday!" Zenitsu texted. Genya just stare dumbfounded at his screen looking at zenitsu and Inosuke's stupid fighting.
