Jade was always considered odd. By himself, by his friends, and by adults. Most people would only have the chance to see the surface of him, though. In public he was collected, intimidating, calm. Even with it all he was still odd. But in private? Oh it was much worse. What most people didn't know about Jade was that he was a yumeshipper. His favorite manga series, "The Secret Diary of Yuu", was the source of it all. It was a simple slice of life manga where the main character kept a diary revealing her deepest secrets to the readers.
You really couldn't blame him though. How wasn't he supposed to fall for the main character, Yuu? She was ideal for him! She was funny, selfless, kind, and not to mention she also loved mushrooms! And she was beautiful too! She had this short hair with beautiful layers and her eyes were drawn beautifully.
At first it just seemed like a silly fictional crush for Jade but then he learned about yumeshipping from his upper-classmen, Idia. After that he began to truly love Yuu, and started to ship himself with her.
Only Floyd, Azul, and Idia really knew about his love for Yuu. Even though he was faced with constant teasing for it and Azul didn't really understand it, they supported Jade.
It all came to a weird turn when Jade was standing in the hall of mirrors during the opening ceremony, the purple robes he had on clashing with his teal hair deliciously. Under his robes, he had a small keychain of Yuu clipped to one of his belt loops.
Crowley had been rambling about how great the school was for at least the past twenty minutes and Jade was beginning to get bored."I'm sure this year will be quite dull", he thought to himself. Just as he was about to disassociate with reality, a strange woman fell from a coffin. She had been carrying a bag and it spilled out onto the floor as she fell. When she looked up, Jade's heart began to race and his pupils immediately dilated, and he knew exactly who she was.
He'd recognize those eyes anywhere.
He knew that it was Yuu, and he also knew he sounded insane. But it had to be her! Her eyes and her hair matched Yuu perfectly, as if she was taken straight from the manga itself. But there was no way, right?
"Where am I? Who are you all?!? Stay back bird boy!" The girl exclaimed when Crowley tried to approach her. She looked as if she was on the verge of either crying or running, possibly both.
Jade was stolen from his thoughts as he felt a hand aggressively attacking his arm. When he glanced to his right, Floyd had a smug grin mixed with an expression of shock.
"Jade Jade Jade~ Ain't that your girl?!" Floyd whispered in a sing song voice. Jade felt as his face turned a slight shade of red and he watched her with parted lips.
He had been so lost in thought, he hadn't even noticed the weird cat thing drop from the ceiling and started lighting the Hall Of Mirrors on fire. He was about to evacuate the area until he heard the ear piercing scream. He whipped around to see Yuu about to be hit by falling debris.
Quicker then he could even think, he reached out and took Yuu's wrist and pulled her out into the hallways. Both of them panted heavily before Yuu finally looked up.
"This place is crazy..." She muttered under her breath "Thank you for saving me sir. My name is-"
"Yuu Hajime, correct?" Jade cut her off before she could introduce herself then realized how weird he sounded.
"You know my name? How do you know my name?"
"Uhm... it's not important. But I'm Jade, Jade Leech."
Yuu looked confused for a second before giving Jade a warm smile, the same kind that would make him put down his book and kick his feet and giggle on multiple occasions. "It's wonderful to meet you Jade. We should stay in touch!" Yuu said sweetly and Jade could feel his heart rate spiking. "Well I'm going to go talk with that bird man about where I am exactly. Nice meeting you!" And with that she was gone. Jade was left in a crowded hallway brimming with chaos. He looked down at the hand he had grabbed her wrist with.
It wasn't a dream. It wasn't fake. Yuu was actually here and Jade had spoken to her.
Maybe the year wasn't going to be as dull as he thought...
