Work Text:
It was just a silly comment, Izuku didn’t even remember making it. Something about how he’s sad that he’s never had someone else act like that to him, he thinks he mentioned it on Valentine’s Day. Likely to Ochako as they had been chatting that day in the living room instead of doing their homework. He didn’t notice the look she got at that, how she left afterwards and talked to some of the other girls. The days leading up to the next weekend felt quiet, a little off but decently well.
That Friday he came down from his dorm room, getting ready for a morning run. Usually only Bakugou would be down, surprisingly Shinsou was leaning against the counter. He goes to the fridge, holding his clanky grey water bottle to fill up.
“Goodmorning.” Shinsou greets, following him up to the fridge.
“Hey.” He smiles softly, knowing Shinsou likely couldn’t sleep earlier and that’s why he’s up.
Shinsou leans forwards to him, setting a simple kiss on his cheek. Izuku freezes for a second, his water bottle almost overfilling. Shinsou takes it out of the holder and hands it to him. Without giving him a chance to speak up, Shinsou leaves the kitchen and goes back upstairs.
Izuku was nervous for the rest of his morning routine, eventually coming back down for breakfast. His backpack feels heavy in his hands when he sets it by the door, right next to Iida’s who always places his there to make sure it’s packed. His gaze went around the kitchen, Momo and Jirou were up. They were making bagels as Kirishima made something on the stove.
“Goodmorning, Midoriya.” Momo smiles up at him, setting a bagel with cream cheese on a plate for him. She reaches it out and he takes it with a shaky hand. Just like with Shinsou, she kisses him on the cheek. Jirou glances up as it happens but acts like it’s completely normal. Momo goes back to helping her coat bagels with cream cheese.
Midoriya is flushed and confused, clearly there was something he wasn’t in on. He knew it could just be a prank, just like how in middle school he’d get those fake love letters. He also knew he could have just missed something, maybe a group message in the class group chat.
Kirishima waves him over to the stove, he carries his cold plate in his shaky hands. Terrified it’ll drop and crack on the wooden floors. “Hi.” he says, face slightly pink as he sweats.
Kirishima holds out a thing of tongs to him, “I have bacon and sausage. Take whatever.”
Izuku nods slowly, taking the metal tongs. Everything feels cold against his sweating self, helping cool himself down. He puts two pieces of sausage on his plate before handing it back to Kirishima.
Kirishima leans forward and kisses him on the lips this time. It’s soft but scary and he doesn’t know what to do until Kirishima leans back. He goes back to cooking, flipping over some sausages that were on the pan.
Midoriya sets his plate down next to the stove, “What are you guys doing?” He almost stutters over his first words, looking at his three friends in the kitchen. “First it was Shinsou, then Momo and now Kirishima.”
Jirou hands Momo a bagel and her knife, going up to Midoriya. She kisses his other cheek, the one Momo and Shinsou hadn’t. His face feels hot and he knows he’s blushing. Jirou holds back a giggle before leaving him by the stove with Kirishima. He doesn’t get what’s happening but knows it’s something they are hiding.
He grabs his plate and leaves the kitchen, sitting down at one of the tables. It’s colder than his utensils and plate, yet he doesn’t mind. Izuku is ransacking his phone messages, looking to find whatever he missed. He knows it is something they must’ve talked about. There is no way they are just all doing this out of coincidence.
When he finds nothing he gives up, eating his cold bagel and sausage quietly. Momo and Jirou are quietly talking as more people trail in. Denki comes by and sets his own plate next to him. Izuku barely acknowledges until he feels another pair of lips on his right cheek.
“Kaminari!” He exclaims, getting frustrated from zero answers of why.
“How’d you sleep?” Denki asks, starting to eat a slice of bacon from his plate.
Midoriya looks him up and down, “Fine. I slept fine.”
Denki nods along, eating as they settle into a silence. Tokoyami is the next one to come sit down, he sets his plate on another table but comes by theres. He’s standing next to Midoriya, leaning down slightly. Midoriya knows what’s coming but can’t help but blush when Tokoyami kisses his forehead.
No one gives them a look or anything, Tokoyami didn’t even say anything before the kiss. He leaves just as fast without a single word, different from everyone else but not out of character.
Once he finishes his food he rushes to the kitchen. He rinses down his plate before setting it into the dish washer. He turns around and sees Iida who smiles at him. Izuku gives back an awkward smile as Iida comes up to him. “Good morning.” He greets, taking Izuku’s still wet hands in his. He places a gentle kiss on them, his lips are soft and his touch is as gentle as possible. Iida doesn’t rush to leave but does let Izuku get his hands back after.
Momo hands Iida a plate, causing him to leave Izuku by the sink. Once Iida leaves Sato walks up to him, he has a little cookie in his hand. It’s covered up in a clear plastic wrap, preserving it. Izuku tries to smile but he really just wants to hide away. He knows what’s going to happen and he’s still red and hot from Iida’s turn.
Sato also kisses his forehead, lifting up his hand and giving him the cookie. “I hope it tastes good.” He mumbles before backing up quickly. Izuku watches as he walks out of the kitchen, walking up to Iida at a table.
He looks at the cookie in his hand, it feels warm from Sato’s big hands. Izuku gently sets it into his uniform’s blazer pocket.
That morning felt slow, an eternity long. Izuku ended up helping clean the dishes from breakfast, Shoji right next to him. His mouth is on one of his fists, resting right on Izuku’s shoulder. His hand is warm but the water is scorching compared to it. Izuku’s hands are almost red when they finish, Shoji setting the last pan away.
He wipes off his hands with a nearby towel, shutting off the water afterwards. Shoji glances over at him, his fist going right up to Midoriya’s face. “You seem nervous.” He says before setting his own hiss on Izuku’s cheek. It’s warm and makes his stomach feel crazy. Izuku swears he can feel his heart beating out of his chest as Shoji leaves him alone.
Izuku leans against the sink, a hand tightly clinging onto his uniform tops. It’s clinging too hard to his sweating body and feels tighter than ever. He can’t breathe enough to calm himself down. As he’s in his own world, mumbling and panicking, Mina and Tsuyu enter the kitchen. Tsuyu gets out two plates, the clinking sound making him snap back. Izuku looks up at them, Mina smiles softly. She walks up, going to his left side. Mina sets her chin against his shoulder, her body is facing his side.
Tsuyu sets the plates on the counter by the displaced food, walking over to him too. “Why are you guys doing this?” He asks, shaky and still hot.
Tsuyu kisses his cheek, quick and soft. Mina takes another approach, leaning forwards and entrapping his lips in a kiss. Midoriya, shaken and extremely confused, stays still. Slightly tense but staying in place until Mina leans back.
School went by faster than he would’ve thought. Izuku was sitting on the couch, his homework next to him and on his lap. Iida was working on the other side of the couch, occasionally having to help Midoriya with a problem.
He glances up when Todoroki enters the room, sitting down next to him. Todoroki leans forwards, a slow kiss on his cheek. Midoriya doesn’t even look up this time, trying to hide his flushed face from them.
Todoroki stays next to him even after the kiss, even as Sero comes by them. Sero smirks and shuts his notebook, bolder than the rest. “Hey.” He greets, kissing Izuku on the lips before he can reply. The kiss isn’t soft but isn’t rough, it’s almost in between until Sero bit his lip. He knows it was on purpose and didn’t even hurt, yet Izuku is still shocked.
Hagakure giggles next to Sero when he pulls away. She came in unnoticed, quiet and calm. She takes this as her face to kiss Izuku on his forehead. Her invisible hand running through his soft, green hair. Hagakure pulls back and Izuku can’t help but miss the warmth the two had supplied. The common area was always freezing.
Sero and Hagakure left the common room, Todoroki getting up and leaving with them. Izuku glances over at Iida who’s now on his phone, done with all of his work.
Aoyama comes into the living area just in time. “Hey Iida, can you help me with this?” Izuku asks, tapping his pencil on his math homework. Iida glances up but Aoyama rushes and sits next to him.
“I can help you.” Aoyama announces, proud and sparkles in his eyes. He leans close to Izuku, looking over the math sheet. When he looks back up Izuku knows his face is pink, Aoyama just smiles at him. Bright and shiny.
Aoyama kisses his cheek twice, both times quickly. Almost as if it was a greeting instead of some plan he wasn’t in on. “X is two.” He states, getting off of the couch. “I have to go help with dinner tonight.” Aoyama leaves just like that.
Izuku watches as he enters the kitchen, Oijiro already in there with Bakugou. His math sheet stays on his lap, forgotten as he studies the three making dinner. He doesn’t even realize when they finish and go to get everyone else down, just watching Bakugou really.
Oijiro walks up to him, taking his math worksheet out of his lap. “Dinner ready, Izuku.” He says, setting the homework materials onto the coffee table.
“What’d you guys make?” He asks even though he watched the whole process and knows.
Oijiro helps him up from the couch, “Shabu shabu.”
Izuku nods along, dusting his sweatpants off. Oijiro kisses his cheek. Despite the amount of times it’s happened today, Izuku still gets flushed and embarrassed by it.
They both walk to the kitchen together, passing by Momo and Koda who were helping set up the tables. He stops before the kitchen, right by the island counter. Ojiro gives him a plate from the huge stack of them, then handing another out to Jirou.
Izuku lets Aoyama shove stuff on his plate, once he gets it back he sits down at a table with Ochaco there. She’s talking with Tsuyu as almost everyone else is still getting their food.
Koda comes up to them, he seems nervous. Izuku can almost immediately place it when he stops in front of him. Izuku doesn’t move but does tense up when Koda kisses the top of his head. He watches as Koda leaves after, fidgeting with his hands before Aoyama shoves a plate in them.
The rest of the night went by like a train, blaring and fast. Izuku was relieved to finally make it to his dorm. It’s warmer than the rest of the building, he basically collapses into his bed. Still in his after school clothes, his eyes start to feel heavy.
A small knock comes from the door, he didn’t even hear anyone walk up. Izuku opens his eyes. He groans when he stands up, his feet making a little thud sound when they hit the wooden floor.
The door swings open with a creaking sound, Bakugou stands on the other side. His eyes are these fiery red that Izuku can’t help but just stare at.
“Are you going to let me in?” Bakugou snarls, crossing his arms over his chest. He clearly ain’t upset, it feels like a forceful act.
Izuku giggles softly, stepping out of the way. Bakugou shuts the door behind himself.
“Did you want to talk about something?” Izuku asks after a moment of silence. Bakugou glances over at him, then his gaze trails around the room. At least five notebooks are on his desk, none for school. There’s clutter everywhere mixed in with the obscene amount of all might merch.
Bakugou looks back at him, “I did.” Izuku looks at him expectingly, waiting for him to continue. He tries to hold back a nervous giggle or even a little mutter.
Bakugou takes a stop closer to him, Izuku can’t help but follow the example. They’re close. They’re close enough that Izuku can feel Kacchan’s breath, a slow, controlled breathing. It feels comforting in his dimmed room. The lamp on the nightstand illuminates one half of Bakugou’s perfect face. It doesn’t feel like enough and Izuku wants to turn the light on and inspect the whole face of his friend.
“You’re muttering.” Bakugou states, quiet and controlled. Izuku can’t help but admire his constantly controlled self right now. It’s different from yelling. It’s soft and new but neither at the same time. The air is light and heavy.
“You should shut up once in a while.” He announces, louder than before. Bakugou leans forwards, capturing Izuku’s mouth onto his. His lips are soft as Izuku’s are chapped. Izuku heats up, blushing definitely on his cheeks. He can’t help but notice it all; how Bakugou’s lips taste like cherry, the soft, smooth feeling, how they both instinctively move closer together to where their chests are touching. Kacchan is warm, his scarred hands touching Izuku. One is in his green hair as the other is cupped around his neck.
Izuku feels off with his hands down to his sides, not knowing what to do with them. Bakugou pulls away first. Izuku can’t help but want to lean forwards and kiss him again, he can’t help but gasp for air once they part. He wants to shove his tongue into Kacchan’s mouth and touch his hair back. He just wants to be there even though he already is.
Bakugou smiles softly, not a smirk or a joking one. A genuine, soft smile with his perfect teeth. “Did you ever figure out why everyone was kissing you?” He whispers, their faces still close. The heat radiating off of him is addicting to Izuku, he leans even closer to where their foreheads touch.
“No.” He gently shakes his head, his word breathy and long.
Bakugou snickers, “Round face planned it. Something about what you said on Valentines. She made a whole group chat and everything.” Izuku nodded as he continued, “She said I could be the last one if I just was quiet about it.”
Izuku can feel the smile on his face get bigger, “You wanted to be the last?”
Bakugou glances away from his face, his gaze moving back almost immediately after. Those green eyes are bright and powerful. “I wanted to be the only one.” He answers.
