‘Katsumi is back to normal,’ Izuku thinks gratefully. It had taken her awhile to get adjusted to being in another realm. It did not help that she could apparently tell the differences between him and the essence he put into the human world to get his lover back.
She felt scared of the changes but the essence of his made her so devoted that she was convinced that if they left they could just go and leave and it would be fine. He thankful that this reincarnated version of her was so much more trusting had managed to nip it in the bud with some magic potion.
Rearranging her mind to be more open to her new reality. He knows that she does genuinely love the life she had built but that life did not include him as a fae. Katsumi as she is now called had been able to be soothed with any lingering regret with the magical potion. No longer questioning it, it was easier to switch from adjustment to transformation.
Her exhaustion at her mind being adjusted to her hunger in her transformation had been amusing to watch. So peaceful and trusting towards him, that she does not seriously question anything that has happened to her.
It makes him happy that he chose the right kind of essence. He almost went with something else. His partial spirit as an essence in the human world could have been more deranged and cruel instead of peaceful and loving. His rage at his Katsukis death almost made him take the first one. But his last words before Katsuki plunged the knife into his own body, life with you is worse than death,’ made him change his mind.
Izuku could not help but feel upset at such a memory even with Katsuki in his new form sleeping lovingly beside him. He had given Katsuki everything even though his parents were traitors to the crown. Izuku protected him from the consequences, took him into his home, cared for him.
Only to be cursed at with such vitriol that… well, you cannot be so disrespectful towards someone taking care of you without consequences. The lack of response after the punishment had been a little worrying. Felt like such a relief when he began uttering sentences again.
That did not stop him from further punishments at further bratty and disrespectful behavior. It is not like he wanted to punish his lover, with Katsumi, he never had to punish her. So sweet and obedient, more trained then her former self.
Katsuki would rage at every little thing but Katsumi runs to him at every turn. That is why she sleeps with him in his bed, why she gets to enjoy her days as she wishes, even her meals are delicious and soft in her mouth due to her obedience.
He always promised Katsuki the same if he got the same behavior. Katsuki instead loved to scream at people for little things. Loved to try and run away no matter the pain he had to go through. Katsuki never spoke with him truthfully leading to many sessions of him crying for forgiveness.
Oh if only Katsuki had behaved more like Katsumi. It would have been easier for both of them
