Work Text:
Gojo Satoru loves his students. That was something he'd gotten used to admitting.
Considering the fact that he absolutely loathed the idea, he considers himself proud to be the mentor of the most talented, powerful, beautiful, and handsome students. (That's not Gojo's opinion, that's a fact!)
He'd went to a local bakery, one he made sure all of his babies visited, he'd found it when searching for things to buy for Megumi when he was a kid, it wasn't even far from his mansion! And, Megumi loved, like loved, the maguro there. Even better! After acquiring the last batch of new students to become their parent's to, Gojo basically shoved all of them inside that bakery. It turns out every one of them liked something or the other! Huge win for Gojo! All of his kids can get spoiled now!
Gojo and Megumi had become regular customers because Megumi refused to eat any other kind of maguro. That's fine though, Gojo, didn't mind, as long as Megumi was enjoying himself. After Nobara and Yuuji joined the group, they'd all go together, so the staff got acquainted with those two as well, pretty quickly. Sometimes, Gojo would also snatch the second years as well to come with them. And by the looks of it, the didn't mind either.
Ah, Yuuji. He loved all of his kids. Each had a special place in his heart. But Yuuji's place was most definitely different. Because his life was on the line, and Gojo? The Albino Man loved the kid. He's got a heart and eyes of gold. The kind that makes you want to protect him from all the harm in the world. If there were different circumstances, Gojo would have already done that. As much as he wants his son safe though, Yuuji has chosen where he wants to be, for a good reason, honoring his grandfather and all that. Gojo just wished the kid cut some slack and took care of himself. He guesses that's why god made the pink-haired boy meet Gojo, Megumi and Nobara.
So now, Gojo had just returned from a trip to that bakery, and was headed home towards Jujutsu High. Sadly this time the rice balls were out of stock. Hopefully Toge could forgive him for that? Gojo bought him cake as compensation.
He'd reached the gates, quickly got in and was planning to surprise his students.
"By now, the should be training at the fields, I'll go check there first."
He was feeling good about this! Nothing ever warmed Gojo's heart (Sans Suguru, but damn him, let Gojo think about his kids first) other than seeing all his kid's face light up (Even you Maki! I know that look in your eyes!) and knowing Gojo caused it? Pure bliss.
Though, when he reached the training area. None of them were there, none of them other than Panda.
"Panda? What's going on? Isn't it training time for you lot?" Gojo questioned, Panda looked up, looking rather grim.
"Ah, Gojo-sensei, we had a slight issue, everyone's in the infirmary right now, I said I'd keep watch until you arrived."
"What happened? Which one? How severe was did they get injured?" Gojo's grip on the back tightened.
"It's best we discuss it indoors, come on, Leiri-san said that you should come inside immediately." Panda got up and walked with Gojo towards the doors of the infirmary.
It wasn't a long way, but the amount of thoughts, the amount of worrying, and the amount of assumptions Gojo had in head was enough to fill his domain.
Which one got hurt? Megumi? Yuuji? Nobara? Maki? Toge? How bad was it that everyone is so shaken?
He opened the infirmary doors with one hand, his knuckles white with the firm grip he has on the bag.
Inside was everyone, even Ichiji and Principal Yaga were there, all his kids surrounding a table. Shoko stood nearby, arms crossed with an unreadable expression on her face. They all turned to him when he opened the door, with Panda behind him.
"Ah, Gojo, come here," Principal Yaga said, Gojo's face was stern, he obeyed, approaching the bed. Everyone moved around, so Gojo could stand face to face with the person who was sitting on the bed, who happened to be—
Oh god, It was Yuuji. Yuuji who'd had a normal life until that god awful finger got digested into his body. Yuuji who's grandfather died right in front of him. Yuuji who wanted to save everyone. Yuuji who died and came back. Yuuji who tried his best to save everyone despite thinking he's failed.
Oh, his poor, poor baby.
But oh no, now he's... Shaken. He looks broken, his eyes are down, facing the floor, but they look empty. They feel empty. He looks so traumatized. It makes Gojo sick. He grip on that groddamn bag increases. He might as well have ripped the plastic.
"The Higher-Ups have appointed a new member. He came by today." Shoko said, approaching Gojo, "He saw Sukuna's vessel and immediately tried to exorcise him."
Oh. Oh god.
"Yuuji wasn't even ready, he didn't even see that man. Even we didn't see him." Nobara said with a scrunched up nose. He face visibly disgusted when mentioning that man.
"I-I almost died.. I almost—" Yuuji managed to croak. His shoulders were rising and panic was forming on his face. He was going to hyperventilate.
That bag of sweets was now abandoned, it may may turned to mush but that's alright. Gojo can always buy again. That's not even a problem. All of his attention was now brought to the shaking boy in front of him.
Everyone around Yuuji was going to surround him in perhaps a group hug. But that was stopped when Gojo's arms firmly wrapped around Yuuji's body first.
"Oh, Yuuji..." Gojo murmed, "Do you need to let it out..?"
Yuuji's face was breaking. He buried his face into Gojo's neck as tears began to form.
"I-I didn't think I'd be this bad! I-I just—"
"Ssh," Gojo murmed into Yuuji's ear, "It's okay, Yuu," He whispered.
"Gojo-sensei!" Yuuji cried, Gojo's uniform was going to need a good wash after this. But he's not the one in a position to complain.
God only knew how long they were there in that position. Yuuji practically wrapped around behind taller as he cried. Shoko had shooed off the rest of the students to give Yuuji some privacy. Nobara and Megumi protested first, but then they shut the mouths when Gojo gave them a "I'll handle this on my own" look.
It had been so long now. Probably hours, Gojo wasn't paying attention. Yuuji's sobs had stopped, but he was hiccupping every now and then. Gojo's neck and shoulder were drenched now.
Slowly, but surely, Yuuji unwrapped himself from Gojo. It was clearly hesitant, since he probably wanted to hold him longer, but knowing the kid, he probably felt guilt for making his father mentor stay in the position for too long.
"T-Thank you Gojo-sensei..." Yuuji said softly, rubbing his eyes.
"You don't need to thank me, Yuuji, I'll be there to help you." Gojo said, cupping his son's cheeks, then straightening up to ruffle his hair. Only then did he realize, his back did ache. He stretched a bit. Then ruffled Yuuji's hair once more.
He looked around and saw that the bag of sweets was nowhere to be found. Oh well, knowing his kids, they must have taken it back with them.
"Your friends should be there in the living room, I presume their eating the sweets I bought them, I bought you your favorite too, go join them." Gojo said, enjoying the way Yuuji perked up. It wasn't very obvious, but to a person like Gojo, it was noticeable enough to crack a smile of Gojo's face.
"Mochi Donuts?" Yuuji asked, head tilting curiously. Gojo ruffled his hair once more and blamed it on cuteness aggression.
"Yup!~" He chirped, "Now, shoo!~ I'll join you all, but I have to do something first,"
"Really?" The pink-haired boy's eyes glinted, "You'll join us? And then, can you- can you stay with us?" There was hesitation in his voice. But lucky for Itadori Yuuji, Gojo Satoru knows him well.
"Yes, of course, Yuu, if you, want we can cuddle later too! Maybe even bring 'Gumi and 'Bara too," He said,
Yuuji's golden-brown eyes lit up even more, oh how that warmed Gojo's heart. "Really? I mean, we wouldn't want to disturb you, I wouldn't want to disturb Fushiguro or Kugisaki-"
"Nonsense, Yuuji-kun, I'd be happy too, plus I'm almost certain Nobara and Megumi would want to join too."
"Thank you, Gojo-sensei..." Yuuji gave Gojo a soft smile, then Shoko helped him stand, he was well enough and soon left the infirmary.
After Yuuji left, the doctor turned to the white-haired man. "So, what are you planning to do?"
Gojo's eyes, inside his blindfold darkened, "Murder is tempting, but I think I have a better idea."
"Don't take to long, the kids are expecting you," Shoko said, turning back.
The man chirped a "Of course!~" back at the brunette before turning returning that stoic expression on his face as he exited the infirmary.
The Higher-Ups are going to question him.
Not his problem though. Some bastard's gonna be living in hell in a few hours, and he's going to continue living knowing he did the right thing.
.... Least he should do is at least clean up his uniform afterwards, he doesn't want to smell like blood when cuddling his babies.
