Renjun fiddled with the keys to their apartment door, quickly opening it with a deep sigh. He shut the door hard in frustration once he made it inside and locked it securely. “Injunnie!!!” Donghyuck shouted to him in response and a large grin. He sat on the couch already in his winter pajamas. Whatever mindless television show played in the background with a lamp illuminating the room in the night. Outside was deep and dark with late night already set.
“Hey,” Renjun responded half-heartedly, frowning.
“How was work?!” Donghyuck instantly stood from his spot quickly, stumbling over the furniture with bright eyes.
He immediately stood in front of Renjun, leaning his hands on Renjun’s shoulders. Renjun looked off before snapping his head to look at Donghyuck straight as the scent reached his nose. “Have you been drinking?”
“Yes,” Donghyuck spoke with a short giggle. Renjun sighed, grabbing his hand, and leading them to the bedroom. Donghyuck clinged onto him, murmuring meaningless phrases Renjun couldn’t decipher. “How was work?” He asked once again.
“It was okay,” Renjun responded with a large huff. Donghyuck peppered him with kisses on his jawline.
“Now was it okay or…” Donghyuck continued before lowering his voice and speaking with a big voice, “okay?”
Renjun rubbed a hand through the younger’s hair softly. “It was alright.” Donghyuck pouted, but Renjun simply brought him into their bathroom. “Now, wash your face.”
Donghyuck whined, pressing his face into Renjun’s shoulder. “No…”
“I’ll let you shower in the morning, but you have to wash your face and brush your teeth now before bed.”
Donghyuck sighed lightly before throwing some toothpaste on his toothbrush and sticking it in his mouth. “Fine.” The man promptly did as he was asked sluggishly. Renjun stood by wordlessly, giving Hyuck a small smile when he finished and looked up at him.
Donghyuck returned a larger smile before pecking Renjun quickly on the lips giddily before hobbling into the bedroom.
Renjun sighed fondly against his own will, following after the man. Donghyuck had already thrown himself into bed on his side, snuggling himself in the warm blankets groggily. Renjun quickly changed from his work clothes into his pajamas and figured he could just shower in the morning as well. He turned off the light and hopped into bed, exhausted.
Donghyuck immediately cuddled into his side, grazing his fingers along Renjun’s hand and arms with a soft sigh. Then, after a while, he pulled himself even more so into Renjun, leaning his head into his chest.
Even though Renjun was slightly shorter than Donghyuck, Hyuck was so small in Renjun’s arms. Even if Donghyuck was almost childly foolish and silly, Renjun couldn’t lie that he felt at home and comforted by him.
Renjun in return moved his fingers through Donghyuck’s hair slowly, pressing a soft peck into the crown of his head. Donghyuck fell asleep so quickly while Renjun gazed at him in the moonlight. So beautiful.
Renjun wanted to give him more sweet kisses, but he didn’t dare disturb sleeping beauty this time. Soon enough, Renjun closed his eyes and basked in the warmth of his partner in his arms, letting sleep consume him.
